Property Ratings at The Hamptons at Town Center Apartment Homes
Place is poorly managed. Got shown a brand new apartment they told me the one I applied for would be the same and when it was time for move in day they gave a Dirty apartment with a bad roast infestation. They tried to fix the situation by putting me in a dirtier apartment! They do not come when you put in a service request they just clear the ticket out and mark it as complete
The apartment complex is quiet and secure with friendly residents. Most people pick up after their dogs. The office staff are unresponsive: they often hang up on callers, divert your call to someone's voicemail, or take a message. They have never once called me back when they said they would. The check-out inspection was non-existent: they told me this was due to the pandemic, but then they refused to share the checklist with me showing the results of their inspection.
I lived at the Hamptons for ten years. In all my life, I had never, ever been late on my rent until my final month there. Due to a car accident, I was unable to work. I went into the office to speak to them and told them about my situation. They told me that since I was a tenant there for so long and had never been late, they'd work something out. After I recovered, I returned to work. They told me that they'd give me two weeks to pay. Right after I paid (mind you, I was two weeks late), I received a notice that they wanted to take me to court for failure to pay rent and, on the notice, they falsely claimed that I had not paid in 4 months! When I brought the notice to their attention, they told me that it was filed in error, that I should ignore it and that I do not have to go to court since I was fully paid up. I asked them to provide me that statement in writing, but they refused! Meanwhile, they are always behind on repairs. Over the years, I eventually gave up on them and figured out a way to manage without all the amenities they advertise. I pay for my own gym membership, their gym key does not work and the equipment is always broken anyway. I also drive to use a laundromat (their washing machines keep breaking and flooding, their dryers don't always work, the laundry cards keep getting stuck and it's took much work to get a refund). Finally, my dishwasher does not work, so I wash my dishes by hand. I make maintenance requests, but their fixes never work. I put up with all of this and they are ready to try to ruin my life the first time I am EVER late on rent? From the first time I walked into that office, I just knew that something was off about the people in there. I should have trusted my gut. While it's true that I was late on my rent, had I known that they were not going to honor their promise, I would rather to take out a loan even at high interest. Do not rent from these treacherous people! They will ruin your life.
The proper manager is never available. Neighbors were great until this year. My new neighbors are absolutely dreadful. They hang out on the steps all hours of the day smoking weed and trashing the property. I called the rental office and they have yet to do anything about it. I told them I want to leave and they want to charge me to break my lease. How crazy is that? Why should I have to pay when I am being forced to leave because of the conditions?

Stayed here for two year , only moving because of military obligations. The staff and crew were awesome especially Shannon. Would definitely recommend it
I do not recommend living in this apartment complex. Almost every employee we have dealt with is rude and unwillingly to help with even the most simple requests. For example, I requested getting maintenance work done in our apartment after 4pm, which is when I get out of work. Maintenance works until 5pm daily, but they refused to accommodate my schedule. We had to speak with management at length to rectify this situation, which I think is terrible customer service. If the employees do not want to talk to you anymore they will hang up the phone or ignore you. During my lease period, new management took over, this became a mess of miscommunication and a hassle for residents. Additionally, the overall culture of the complex is unpleasant, and the property management makes no effort to repair it. In addition to the unmaintained bushes and grass, we regularly dealt with the smell of drugs throughout the property. The laundry facilities were a huge inconvenience. Half the time 1 or 2 of the 6 washers were 'Out of Order', leaving 4-5 available. We regularly had to compete with the other residents to get our laundry done, even though we paid more to be in an apartment near a laundry facility. The pool, which is 'guaranteed' to be open from Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day weekend was opened a week after Memorial Day due to "circumstances out of our control". Throughout the winter we saw that the pool was not being maintained and was left to be destroyed. These "circumstances" were fully in their control, they just refused to maintain the pool and did not give themselves enough time to recuperate the pool for opening by Memorial Day weekend. We moved from New York, and needed to find an affordable home for the first year of relocating. I was very disappointed with what we ended up with at the Hamptons. I would sooner pay twice the price in rent than live here again. There are much nicer places to live in Germantown that are comparably priced. I highly suggest you chose another place to live.

Thank you for taking time time to take my complaints into consideration and making it your mission to to the situation around.rhank you for being respectful thank you for caring and thank you for being an amazing leader.may God bless you Michael.Mouskeba keita
I lived at the Hamptons for a year. It's very unsafe in this apartment complex. There are many drug dealers in this neighborhood and I had a lot of things get stolen from my patio. Also, I couldn't get anything mailed to my apartment because people kept stealing my packages. Starting in March 2018 the management changed and now theyre charging for everything including parking. It's cheap to live there but it is not worth it. I'd spend a few extra dollars and find somewhere you can live happily without being worried for your safety. The customer service is great at the beginning but terrible after you sign your lease.

The new property manager Michael is very nice and accommodating and willing to work with you. The washer/dryers if you are lucky get one near your apartment and plan on doing your laundry during your odd hours. We have been 50/50 with Maintenance. We had a leak in our bathroom ceiling from the upstairs toilet which took over 2 weeks for them to address that. Shannon the lady in the rental office is dreadful. She is rude, intimidating and while I respect her doing her job, she makes threats when rent is late, sends repeated and constant notices. Rent is cheap for a reason. The other people in the leasing office are nice but honestly won't do anything they have limited responsibilities and that is all they can help with.

This place is only good if you have never had an apartment or have bad credit. Maintainece doesn't fix anything. They made a mistake and put late rent orders on my door twice. Shannon is very disrespectful and unprofessional. This place is surrounded in drugs and police just sit on property this is somewhere you do not want to move. If u enjoy people smoking in front of your house everyday this is the place to be.

Hi, it is disappointing for us to hear that your experience has been anything less than great. If you'd be willing, the Property Manager would like to speak with you at (301) 428-0970 to discuss ways to improve your experience with The Hamptons at Town Center Apartment Homes moving forward. Thank you for your input, and we hope to hear from you soon.
Valerie and the team were so helpful in getting me in my apartment, they made us feel so welcomed! It's mostly quiet in the neighborhood and it's a 3 minute walk to 7 eleven. They have a really nice gym, only con is there's no washer and dryer in the apartment. I love my apartment so much though. Thank you !!
4 days after I moved in, I was served with an eviction notice. They did this in error as they had forgotten February had 28 days, not 30, and had tried to correct the bill I had paid as if it were a 30 day month, saying I owed around 80 dollars. Things went much further downhill from there. Most recently, trying to move out has resulted in extortion attempts as they try to charge me the entirety of the cost to turn over the apartment for the next tenant and then some. There is constant threat of dragging you to court, even if you never miss a payment. In short, you'll be treated like a criminal. Good Luck to those unfortunate or foolish enough to live their.
This community resembles an occupied state. The police is a permanent ficture in this complex. There is gang activiry, high use of drug-- both addicts and dealers. You can actually catch a contact if you stand outside on your patio or balcony. It seems as if everyone uses marijuana here. My mother who was visiting actually got sick from the odor. She couldn't stay here. We had to get a hotel. There was initially bedbugs and roaches that we had to contend with from the previous tenants. The bands of youths that loiter in the stairwells can be intimidating. The group fistfights in the parking lots, the break-ins, and the police chasing suspects with guns througout the neighborhood was unnerving. The police will actually stop the residents and ask for id and ask them where and what are they doing. You try to share your concerns with the management and when they eventually return calls, they pretend none of this exits. It was scary to live at the Hamptons, so I had to leave. I post this comment to possibly save some lives. Please take heed. Don't come here.
The community is great and everything is convenient but looks can are deceiving with this property. This being my first apartment I have never been so fed up in my life. As likewise to prior reviews, the management team takes their grand time fixing any issues you have in your apartment. We had issues when we first moved in in June 2015 that needed to be fixed. It is now April 2016 and they just completed the work order. And if you have any bigger issues they suggest you contact the property manager in which she is close to impossible to contact. This is a great place for a quick move but nothing long term. I'm not renewing my lease either.
Coming out of a homeless shelter the Hamptons at Town Center felt like heaven. But losing my heat in January took me off cloud 9. I finally got it fixed in April so 4 months for the maintenance people to even come to my apartment. Location is AMAZING!! Metro is literally outside my house and so is CHIPOTLE! No rats or roaches just ratchets which can be entertaining. My shower has cracks in the tiles and the tub has cracks and I think there's mold growing on the tub faucet. I called maintenance but I'll be moved out, married and divorced twice before they probably address that issue. If you're not a picky and need a place in a great location or don't have a car it'll do. The rent is high for a one bedroom though but you're really paying for the location. I'M NOT RENEWING MY LEASE AT ALL!
My husband and I rented here at the Hamptons at town center as our first place together and we've been happy during this 2 years. Everything is close to us (laundry room and pool). We are in a first floor and have a patio that we enjoy a lot since we are allowed to bbq. We adopted a dog in the middle of our first year during an adoption event that the leasing office organiced, we are dog lovers and they won our hearts by being pet friendly and having plenty of green area to walk our pet. The prices are very appealing. It's a great community with walking distance shopping centers and public transportation.
