Property Ratings at The Harbours Apartments
Service experience Tatiana was very professional, she has patience, the willingness to answer as many of concerns and best of all she was able to narrow down what were my most important features and the attractive amenities that were available
Warm Welcoming I’ve toured other apartments before, and each consultant was very nice but it felt like only a business transaction. My leasing consultant at The Harbours—Evelyn—was very warm and inviting. She made me, and undoubtedly other guests, feel like I was already a part of the community. The property is gorgeous and has a lot of benefits for reasonable prices.
Great Tour After going on a tour, definitely looking to rent in the upcoming year. Our guide was very knowledgeable and helpful. Including let us look at amenities and not overbearing. Definitely worth the tour!! Thank you.
My friend and I had an amazing experience while we had our apartment tour. Gabby, our tour guide, showed us around the complex and the apartment and answered any questions we had about the apartments and the complex. Me and him are highly excited to move in once we are able to!

Crystal was amazing I toured the Aster model, after thinking exclusively about applying for Peony. Crystal was phenomenal and so kind. She talked up the aster and when I saw the model I was sold. She was knowledgeable and direct. I toured a few other properties after and none treated me with the same kindness nor did they match the quality I was going to get with the Harbours. I highly recommend this community to others.

I applied on Feb 26, 2023. I called them on March 1 because I did not receive a response. They said they canceled my application because who knows. They didn’t not email me or call me. But wants me to reapply and repay the fees. That just shows they don’t have any empathy for future residents, so I can’t imagine how they treat current residents.
I love my apartment but don't know how much longer I can stay here with this noisy neighbor dropping something very loud like a weigh over my head. I even knocked on the wall when he does it so he is aware of what he is doing. The office can not address him directly "they say" unless they can witness it. Never heard of that but I will have to buy my time out here. I can't keep being awaken and causing me sleep deprivation.

. I’m only relaying my experience and my advice NOT to rent or send renters to any EDWARD ROSE properties. The Harbours especially. And when I condense my story you may say “why all of this?” Well it’s my money and they are outta pocket. So lease is up, I decide not to renew. Inform office. They say ok. The rent was going up anyway. I ask for 15 extra days because other delays were in place in my new location. The office provides a prorated amount and I pay it in advance. I get a copy of my ledger before my last day. Zero balance. They walk thru the apartment. No damage. I turn in my keys, 3 of them. I make sure it is noted that they were received. A month later, my deposit check is returned for $109. $300 short. I maintain my pleasant demeanor when I call to inquire. The notice sent with the check said they didn’t get the mailbox key. Sure you did (that was $10). I didn’t turn in my key fob (never got one that was $25$.) Call accounting. I speak with Meghan who acts as if it’s her money and says they didn’t charge you the month to month rate so what you paid and the left over deposit was applied and that is why you got $100. So several calls later between the main office and the harbours, Meghan calls me back says oh you did turn in the key and you don’t have a fob so we’ll send you another check for $35. I told her your error should not affect me. I’m paying for your mistake and now I’m filing a small claim, hopefully even if I lose, it’ll go on their credit rating.

Personally, I really enjoy living here. We moved in early 2021. I clearly can't speak for everyone, but I haven't once had any issues with staff or the maintenance team. Anytime I put in a request it's solved either that day or the next day. I definitely feel like they communicate with us when they're going to be doing a mandatory update to the apartment. I always have the time to put my pets away. They've always been respectful to us and our privacy. The Apartment itself is probably one of the cheaper ones available, 1 bed 1 bath. It's small, but compared to the other places we were looking at it's very comfortable and spacious for 2 adults and 2 fur babies. I also have to say that we really wanted an apartment with a washer/dryer in it. That was surprisingly difficult to find at a good price when we were looking, so we were ecstatic to have that here. We do get bugs inside(spiders usually eat the pesky ones) and we had a lot of minor issues when we moved in. I feel like for the price maybe it could have been in better condition, but if you consider that you only have to pay for your Wi-Fi (AT&T only) and electricity after rent, I feel like the price is fair. Some Apartments you have to pay most utilities on top of your rent, and those utilities can fluctuate. Here, the only time the price fluctuates (other than electricity) is when you renew your yearly lease. It's much easier for us to budget than if we had unpredictable bills. Some people mentioned that the walls are thin and I cannot disagree more. I only hear footsteps, cute dog barks sometimes, and faint music. Nothing bothersome at all. Also, they do really nice events to get everyone included, like Holiday events for kids, some dog activities, random breakfast handout days, it's really sweet. My friends from other apartments have said they never get things like that. They also do Tuesday food trucks in the summer. They have a spacious pool area open in the summer, a gym open year-round, every apartment has a view of a pond that you can fish in (catch & release). I'm hoping to stay here as long as I can, maybe eventually upgrade to a 2 bed 1 bath. I love the community and the location, very close to grocery stores, nice restaurants, quick eats, pretty sure a school but I don't have any kids to confirm, and most of all my family. It's convenient, affordable, and feels safe to us. I definitely recommend living here.
Staff is rude and unhelpful, maintenance has entered my apartment multiple times without permission or notice, I was locked out of my apartment for hours after my locks were replaced with electronic locks WITHOUT PERMISSION OR NOTICE. Living in The Harbours is not worth the stress of worrying about your personal property and pets constantly because of strangers entering your apartment randomly.
This place will tax! The office ladies are extremely rude and doesn’t seem to care to help. Along with that being said, the maintenance men will take forever to get back to you. I have entered several orders and they marked it as finished when no one entered or done anything to my apartment.

My unit was not throughly cleaned...during a pandemic. The smoke dector was not installed properly and I had to call maintenance after a few hours upon arriving. Bugs galore, sewage smell from laundry drain, everything was half done. It looks beautiful from the outside but the inside..outdated! The rent is way to high for an outdated older building. Keep your money until you find something better. 0 stars do not recommend. You'll get the run around about any concerns unless you leave a bad review. That's literally the only time they will reach out. I've been here a month and can't wait to leave.

There are a lot of bugs in the summer. Doesn’t matter if you keep the windows shut. The bugs will always come in and the apartments are to expensive for what you get. Very dated

I have two bedroom apartment that was not clean and have many problems since I started my contract. The kitchen ceiling leaking and it tooked about three month until they fixed it. Poor maintenance. Plus you can only have internet with At&t and the speed of it is so poor. They charged $60 per month for internet and if you want to change the company to xfinitiy it’s not allowed. So you will have to $60 minimum to your monthly rent !!!! Add to all this alot of spiders in summer

As said by other reviews, will find any reason to keep your security deposit. Residents aren't allowed on final walk through and cannot contest claims made against them. Floors and walls are very thin, you can hear neighbors walking around.

The walls and floors are very thin and not insulated well. If you have a heavy-footed neighbor or families that yell, you're going to hear them. I invested about $500 in noise-canceling headphones and sleep buds because of all the noise. My ceiling sounds like 4.0 magnitude tremors when my neighbors throw their heels into their stride. There are no speed limit signs or speed bumps in the parking lots, so keep your head on a swivel if you don't want to be struck by a vehicle doing 35 mph. The front/leasing office is a joke. I don't think they have a lot of long-term employees (or residents for that matter). Asking for any help is like talking to a wall. They'll say anything to get you to sign a lease. I've never heard of anyone getting their deposit back. They will find any reason to keep it. You'll be treated like a door number, not a person. They have no sympathy for any of your troubles, they just want all the money they can get from you.

I moved into one of the newer buildings, and it's nice, but the construction quality is horrible. There were sometimes screws poking out under the carpet, the nails on the balcony are already falling out, the back sliding glass door was installed at an angle and you can see the insulation between the walls. The windows aren't very insulated so it gets cold easy in the winter. Now, lets talk about the staff. IN GENERAL, they're nice people... generally. Before COVID started, I was told multiple times that there was going to be a park with BBQ and volleyball court built sometime early fall of 2018, nothing has started. They send out MULTIPLE emails about how you're NOT supposed to have a BBQ, but no one cares and they don't take action. People still have BBQs INCLUDING their own employees! To call the front office is a mission, if you don't get lucky and get someone to answer, you're stuck in a loop in the automated machine. During this COVID pandemic, they kept promising they were planning to open the gym and had ideas on how to keep people separated, but they keep delaying it and the excuse is that they're installing a new card system in them gym, and they're still not open. How come LA fitness is open, but not my gym here??!! Ridiculous. Then I call and complain that they haven't opened up the gym I pay for and the property manager pretty much just tells me I don't pay for the gym, it's something Edward Rose & Son's is nice enough to provide as part of my rent. Really??? Finally, everytime one of the staff members come in to fix something in the apartment, we have to request for them to take their shoes off so they do not dirty up the carpet. Why would they be allowed to do that? Also, every time the staff come in to fix something, they either fix it half way, or they damage something else such as the walls. The corporate staff at Edward Rose & Son's: other than the receptionist (she's awesome), the rest of the people there are HORRIBLE. They never answer nor do they ever call back. I've left 7 voicemails and not once have received a call back. Dear Edward Rose & Son's staff: You kept harping us to leave a review for you, well here it is. It's unfortunate though because I have little to no confidence that this will do anything that will urge you guys to make yourselves better.

Due to being around pounds their are tons of insects around the windows and in the apartment at times. But no problem. The grounds crew is on it! Especially a gentleman named Mark. Really nice guy. He would constantly come and spray my unit down. Sometimes without even having to asking. Nice apartments, nice guy. Highly recommend!

We’ve been at The Harbours Apartments for 5 1/2 yrs and just love it here, the amenities compared to any other complex around are first class. From the huge modern clubhouse with its banquet hall,W/ full kitchen, fireplace lounge, lower level full gym with every exercise machine you’ll ever need and 3 pools with a large patio seating and landscaped with beautiful shrubs and flowers. All the apartments are lakefront on big ponds with many species of fish with catch & release fishing permitted. And the maintenance here is also top drawer, same day service in most instances and technicians are courteous, clean & knowledgable. I tell my friends & family we live at a private golf resort with no golf course!! But plenty of corse near by.

I moved in three months ago, and I really love living here. The view of the pond is beautiful and calming. The staff has been very helpful. I have had to contact resident services a time or two and have talked Loryn who is very pleasant and professional; her help has made it easy to pay rent online as well make any maintance requests!

Worst decision I have ever made moving into this place way over priced for an ok at best place. They never salt during winter do a crappy job plowing. I have been waiting 7 months now for them to replace my broken and burned ip counter top which was like that upon moving in still hasn't been fixed or replaced was supposed to be done in july. They didnt clean the apartment for me so I moved in to a absolutely disgusting apartment.

My friend and I decided to move out here around 2 years ago and its been fantastic living here! Everyone is friendly and the maintenance staff is amazing! Every issue we’ve had they come the next day to fix it and they work very hard to keep this place looking great! The third floor cathedral ceilings are very nice and make it feel much bigger. Overall 10/10 would reccomend!

I was leased an apartment on July 6th and they "terminated" the lease on their end on July 12th. I never even got to move my furniture in. The unit given to me was covered in mold and every possible corner was cut in preparing this unit for proper living conditions. Mold in every crevice of grout in the shower, below the shower nozzle, thick coatings on the sides of the toilet tank, and the bottom right corner of the sink, and into the countertop. Cracked and missing shower grout, and improperly caulked kitchen sinks leaving 2 inches of raised gap in the sink. Cobwebs were painted over in the corners of every room. The front window wouldn't close all the way and was filled with cobwebs and spiders. Very obvious 3.5 inch splatter of mold outside the front window. I brought this to their attention, but was met with apathy and had to spend 2 days trying to even speak with a manager about this. I was told by staff that mold was not an emergency. They saw the pictures of the unit and immediately agreed it was unacceptable. Pictures are worth a thousand words. No paperwork has been provided showing that anything has been done regarding nullifying the lease due to them. I've had to scrape together all of my money and sell things so I could avoid last minute homelessness since they won't give my money back in a timely fashion. Almost 3 weeks later, they haven't given me my money back, despite an email 2 weeks ago claiming all of the fees will be refunded. After calling Edward Rose corporate yesterday, I was told they were still waiting on managers approval. They have consistently lied and withheld my money after providing a mold-infested, filthy, damaged apartment. When I called to ask about the refund, they said "we have 30 days by law, and it hasn't been 30 days since your move-out date" I was supposed to be out of my previous condo near the time that I was supposed to move into the Harbours. Calls and messages to the regional manager have been unreturned, even though they have confirmed that he has been in his office when they transferred my calls. They don't care about tenants and potentially causing homelessness, they only care about holding your money as long as they can.

The not so good... Currently (over 17 yrs living here), I live in the oldest of buildings built back in 1989. The apartment is definitely showing it's vintage age. The walls are as thin as paper, the windows are the worst (rotting, thin, seals broken and bad tracks) including the window frame. Last year, yellow jacket hornets were behind the walls and making their way to the window area in my bedroom. The caulking in the tub area is very cracked or missing. The carpet needs replacing, not cleaning. The washer/dryer unit is as old as the complex itself. Moved in with new/newer kitchen appliances, so they work alright. The main road and the parking area is littered with large potholes. Rent has skyrocketed. The most I ever saw for an increase in prior years was $20. This year (2019) it went up $45 per month. The good... The location, the views, the resort like pools/clubhouse and best of all, utilities paid by landlord. I only have to pay for electric and cable. The area (lakes and landscaping) is well maintain... however, this year our lake is infested with seaweed and algae. Wildlife is abundant and nature lovers will appreciate this. Last year I finally received a new HVAC system. Very loud, but it works. The corridor area outside the apartment is clean and safe to be outside. Carport is an extra charge, but worth it. The resort like pool/clubhouse is one of the best updated areas in this place. Always clean and well managed. Nice workout facility too. As for the staff, since I have been here over 17 years, I have seen it all. Good, bad and in between. The past 2 years, though, all the staff here have been very good. I have been able to reach them by phone along with the maintenance people and had pleasant experiences with them. Best to use the online maintenance requests to contact them if it isn't an emergency. They're there the next day. At the time of this review, I can say that I will be here for at least another year...providing that they fix my window and give me a break on rent increase. Hate to leave after 18 yrs living here.
I was nervous to move here because of all the bad reviews but went ahead anyway because they're very affordable and nice looking. I'm so happy I did, I'm in love with my apartment. They're very spacious, I personally don't think the walls are thin (I rarely hear my neighbors)and laundry is in the unit. I don't know why the maintenance staff is getting such a bad rep because they have always responded quickly and efficiently with what I needed done and are very friendly. The emergency maintenance reached out to me 5 minutes after I called and had my problem fixed within half an hour. Customer service at the front desk has been amazing every time I talk to them. Other than rent being raised for the new year I have absolutely no complaints and think this is a great place to live.

I moved into the harbor apt after reading many bad reviews I decided to go for it anyway. I live in a wisteria unit and I LOVE IT!!!! My bedroom is very big for this to be an apartment bedroom I have a king size bed and I still have space for chest of drawer, bench near window, and second smaller chest of drawer two night Stands and I still have space in my room :) anytime I've had to call maintenance they've came the same day or the next day. they seem to do a pretty good job with snow removal no complaints. I see the maintenance guy outside every morning pickup up paper and cigarette etc off the ground. This is a very clean property ground. There are these silver fish bugs I've seen crawling along the ceiling a few time (not really a fan of that) but whatever. the residents of the property do seem to speed through the parking lots, and their overnight guess fill up all the parking spaces. bummer :( overall I like it here. I think the property needs a designated play area for the children residents here in the back behind the 34,33,32 buildings. maybe a ball court and a playground type of thing.

I’ve been living here for over a year and love it! The only complaint is lack of recycling bins (I’ve inquired-management apparently doesn’t think it’s a priority). On a more positive note, the maintenance technician for my building (Jeff) is outstanding. He always arrives on time, in a pleasant mood and tackles the job at hand in a quick, professional manner. It makes me happy to have such a nice, professional person arriving on time to perform routine maintenance. Thank you Jeff! Now Management, let’s get going on those recycle bins! Thank you.

Renter beware, At first glance and stroll these apartments seem nice on the inside and they make sure the apartments they are showing you are nice and clean and everything works. However everything is different once you move in. The air conditioning unites are out dated and unreliable so be careful when considering those nice third floor units, it gets pretty hot without the air working. Oh and a broken air conditioner, even on the hottest of days, is no emergency so forget about living in comfort until they decide to show up! So besides having to live without the air that is promised to you there will also be cracks in your walls, falling bathroom ceiling fans, maintenance men who barge in when you are napping, unlevel floors, and bad internet (no matter the speed you pay for). I mean if you like all of that this is the place for you!

I am wrapping up my last month of a year long lease here, and I will NOT be renewing my lease. At first I thought these were nice apartments, but over time everything has broken, I cannot even use my balcony because of bugs, and on top of that I cannot even get a hold of anyone in the office when I have these issues. I am currently in the process of trying to get my bathroom fan fixed, I just called 7 times and could not get an answer to any department in the office no matter what extension I tried. DO NOT MOVE IN HERE

Very rude staff in the office, once you sign your lease they treat you completely different. It's also impossible to get in contact with someone, you end up having to call the regional office. My A/C has been broken for YEAR and they make up so many excuses to not replace it. I'm at a loss for how they treat the residence here.

I have been living in this community for over a month now, and will certainly update this review with any changes. I am loving it here so far. Yes, there are spiders and bugs. Yes, you can hear footsteps above you. Yes, people smoke. However, this is an apartment complex! These things happen; and if you can't deal with these things, buy a house. The clubhouse has a great gym, fitness classes, beautiful pools; they hold ice cream socials, clubs, and free breakfast mornings. Each apartment has a great view. It's a very quiet community most days, and people mind their own business. As a single young woman, I feel safe here. The ladies in the clubhouse are understaffed, which is a bummer, but with a little bit of patience they're very pleasant. Again, aside from normal apartment things, my experience so far has been really good and I'm not anxious to go anywhere else!

My fiancee and I rented here last year. On move in day I had all of my crew there and ready and we where able to inspect the apartment for the first time. It was extremely dirty, had paint over spray over everything, the carpet appeared to be very old and had countless stains. We had complained to management and they said that the only ground level, one bedroom apartment that they had available was the one we where given and if we wanted another their would be a wait. They said that if we where to write down any damage to the apartment like the stains that where all over the carpet, then we would not be charged for it upon move out. Being that I had my entire family moving crew there ready to move in we just took there word for it and moved in. During our stay we often had to call several times before maintenance would actually come fix issues. The sidewalks around the ponds are littered with bird poo and often flooded with the lightest rain. They don't get on apartment renters who do not pick up after their animal poop even when there is 15 piles of dog poo right outside their apartment door wall. The lawn could definitely use some seeding. The snow removal was really poor and their was salt bags put out by each stairway, but when the salt runs out good luck getting them to actually drop off a replacement bag. The gutters are in such a way that they drip water down onto the concrete which freezes every night.my fiancee fell because of it and that was after several attempts to get more salt. . So back to the main grief of my complained. My fiancee and I did a great job documenting all the damage including the weathered and stained carpet. Upon move out we where sued by The Harbors for replacement of the carpet as they claimed the carpet was too stained to be used again which it was when we moved in. They claimed in court that the carpet was only two years old. Even though we had documented it as "various stains throughout the carpet ranging from brown to red to yellow" on our damage paperwork (which we had a copy of) and they had no proof of the age of the original carpet they won our security deposit and court costs in court. Quite frankly you can't trust this place and even if you document damage right you will lose in court, because it appears with research they are there a lot over security deposits.

I love my apartment I’m actually looking for different floors plans because I need more space the only problem I have is the kitchen and bathroom should be updated maybe some granite countertops and stainless steal appliances and a little fake hardwood planks never hurt anyone I think that would be awesome and I would never leave I know that’s a major update and cost but lots of people would pay the price including myself just to have that small but big detail changes

This place is horrible , they never shovel the snow in the parking ! Each time snow falls, I have to go shovel the parking by my own ! In the summer this place is full of spiders because management never take care of anything here. the units are disaster you can hear neighbors all the time because the walls are so thin especially after midnight ( bring your earplugs if you sign a lease here because you'll never get a good night sleep here ) the dogs in other units always barking ( they never stop especially when their owners are out ) , its more like a zoo than apartment community . Also you'll definitely get a flat tire here because there is always nails and screws in the parking ) ( I got flat tire 3 times here in the parking lot which cost me almost the whole month rent to replace my tires) their staff are very rude , they never answer your call ( I have tried calling them multiple time different time of a day ) and when thy do they hung up on you . if you have maintenance good luck with that . **We already told all this concern to management but nothing changed because they do not care about you but if you pay your rent 1-2 days late they'll send you a court order !
I love living at my aparment, but the rent is becoming too expensive (especially for a one bedroom). I could understand my rent being increased if I was getting apartment updates (new sink/sink faucet/new countertops), but I have not received any updates or changes to my apartment. I have been a loyal renter for 2 years at The Harbours. It's just disappointing that my rent cannot be the same amount I am paying or be reduced even a little. I already work a full-time job and a part-time job.

HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED. I have pharaoh ants in my unit, all over my kitchen counters, my bathroom cabinets and in my shower/tub. I have been reporting this to the harbours maintenance since I moved in, in October. It has been over 2 months and although I have been told that maintenance has sprayed for the ants, they keep getting worse and worse. No one is doing anything about this and the ants are disgusting. No one cares AT ALL that this is a concern of mine. Don’t waste your money here.

The apartment itself was okay, it had several things wrong with it before i moved in but i was assured it was normal, the view was cool through. But i wouldn't recommend this place just because of the staff and the maintenance. And you have to deal with them a lot because there are a lot of maintenance issues within the apartment. They make living here stressful and just not worth it.

My girlfriend and I moved in July 14th 2016, we were shown an apartment 2 months prior and were told that we would be renting the same exact apartment. July 14th we found we would not be getting what we were shown, but instead a smaller apartment. The only remedy that the management could come up with was for us to pay over $100 more in rent for another apartment. Only 1 appliance worked. While we moved in maintenance replaced the refrigerator and oven. They would replace the dishwasher and fix the dryer later. That day, we found that the closet doors would fall out and onto the floor if opened, the screen door would not close, and above the cabinets was years of grime. It became painfully obvious that this apartment had not been maintained. I removed a vent and found an inch of dirt and dust throughout the ducts. Other vents showed the same neglect. We also found what appeared to be mold in the bathroom. Their solutions to these problems: -Screen door: replaced with a bent door that fell out of the tracks when opened. I asked them to install a new one. They said they replaced it again, however the "replaced" door was bent in the same spots. Obviously they did not replace it. I contacted the management who said it would be taken care of. It still has not. -Closest doors: one door was replaced, the bent tracks in the door frame were not. The problem still exists, and we've been told it cannot be fixed. -Vents: The vent covers were sprayed with a can of compressed air. The inside of the ducts were not touched. -Mold: They smeared more grout over top of the problem areas. -Grime above cabinets: maintenance left a note stating they had cleaned above the cabinets. It was not touched. My biggest issue. Dishwasher: they replaced the dishwasher they pushed it into my 10 day old couch and ripped it. I contacted management and they accepted responsibility and put in an insurance claim. I was told that it would take several weeks for there to be a decision made. 6 months later I cannot get a return call or email response from anyone. The managers conveniently leave before 4:30 so my only option is to take time off of work or leave a message. I highly recommend steering clear of The Harbours. They continue to pour money into the outward appearance (tree removal, new sprinkler system, and car ports), but do not maintain the interior. The management will tell you whatever they think you want to hear, and don't follow through

I had a 1 bedroom apt for 6 months. Overall I had a good experience, the office staff were nice and I always felt safe there. The fitness center was clean, had all of the equipment I needed, and was rarely crowded. Unfortunately I was unable to visit the pool area but it always looked clean. I had a second floor apartment and could rarely hear my neighbors above me or next to me. They had fun activities at the club house for residents and their children. And in the end I received my full deposit back which was expected. Some things I did not like were the many times maintenance came into my apartment. The maintenance crew were always respectful and friendly but they entered my apartment several times to check the dryer, change the smoke detector, paint the door, and change the lightbulbs all at separate times. And then they did maintenance on our patios/balconies so for a few days I had someone on my balcony, they also updated the stairway outside our apartments so we had to leave our apartments all day because being in them was a safety risk, and they did give us warning about all of this but it was still quite an inconvenience. I also think that the price is a bit high for the condition of some of the apartments, mine had serious damage to the drywall in many places that was poorly fixed if fixed at all as well as the appliances being very outdated. But the area was very nice and you are right on Hall road which is a convenience that you pay for. Overall I did enjoy my time at The Harbours.

Thank you for the positive and thorough review. We appreciate the feedback provided. In regard to the several times that maintenance had to complete work on or near your apartment, we completely understand that these visits can be inconvenient. It is not our intention to inconvenience residents in their homes, however, we do work to keep our community in tip-top shape for our residents. In addition, regular preventative and scheduled maintenance are unavoidable for things such as smoke detectors and furnace filters. We are glad that you enjoyed your time at The Harbours and we wish you the best in the future.
After they completed their inspection of our apartment these guys told me they will take $500 from my security deposit to replace the carpet. The only thing needed addressing in the apartment were 2-3 red spots from juice spill which could have been cleaned professionally for under $100. The accused us of using bleach and causing white spots throughout the apparent which, according to them, permanently damaged the carpet. These bogus charges were despicable and they basically blackmailed us to drop the dispute or appear in MI court over this matter. We decided to drop the dispute in order to avoid incurring additional $300 travel expenses just to come to MI to argue in court with these thieves. My advice to you is to stay away from this place. If you still decide to rent there, make sure you take plenty of pictures and record any freaking nick and cranny in the apartment before you move in. These people are preying on tenants that do not do exhaustive walk-through before move-in. Oh, I almost forgot to say that if you expect to have a good sense of security and peace in this apartment complex ... well don't. Last summer there were multiple noise complaints and issues including a gun shooting which bullets flying through the walls. You should be able to talk to the local police department or check past publications in local news magazines about these stories. If you have kids I would urge you to consider this before you make a decision to move there. One other thing that I found frustrating was the noise of smoke detectors going off every time we cooked. These buggers were so sensitive and the noise was so loud that it was unbearable at times. If one sits on the balcony in spring and fall, he/she could hear smoke alarms going off all over the place. Upon multiple requests the maintenance replaced detectors with the same model, which unfortunately did not solve the problem. The only, highlight of this community is the pool area and excursive amenities. However, considering the size of the community you should expect to find both places overcrowded at times. Just my 2c worth! Good luck to all of you fellow renters!

Thank you for your review and we apologize for any discontent toward your living experience at The Harbours Apartments. Upon move-out, damages that exceed normal wear and tear are assessed and billed to the prior resident. We utilize professional contractors to clean and assess carpet damages, and in the instance of your apartment, it sounds as though those damages exceeded a cleanable or repairable threshold. If you have any further questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to our Past Resident Department at 248-686-5300. -Manager, The Harbours Apartments
DON'T EVER TRUST THAT PLACE! I started an application with them and after I got approved and paid the application fee and security deposit, first they didn't inform me that they have exclusive partnership with AT&T and then they changed the rental agreement and rental amount. Finally they called me 6 days prior to my move-in day and said the current owner decided to extend their move out date! what kind of management aloow people to extend their move out date 6 days prior to somebody else's move-in date? and when were they going to clean the apartment for a new resident. Go to this place only if you want a messy management to screw your moving plans.

We’re truly sorry if you felt we were not accommodating to you. Being familiar with this situation and review, you’ve indicated the other apartments that we have available do not meet your needs and/or move in date at this time. Our application to lease indicates that we not held liable by holding over an apartment by a current resident. Per our phone conversation, you are entitled to have your holding deposit returned to you, which we agreed upon. Again, if you decide that you want the Harbours as your next home, please feel free to contact me at 586-468-5668. –Dawn, Property Manager, The Harbours Apartments
