Yes, it's called Capitol Hill -- but it isn't the capitol and there's no capitol building. So how did this Seattle neighborhood get its name? Back around 1900, a real estate developer renamed the burgeoning community from "Broadway Hill" to "Capitol Hill" because he wanted the capitol to be moved from Olympia to Seattle. That never happened, and the quirky neighborhood kept its new quirky name. Capitol Hill is the neighborhood for those who love nightlife. As Seattle's premier place to party, Capitol Hill is home to coffee houses, taverns, bars, nightclubs, and theaters.
Home to artists and musicians, Capitol Hill features a variety of festivals and events throughout the year, and it is home to the Capitol Hill Arts District. College students also find their way to the Hill, which is home to Seattle Central College and is just south of the University of Washington.

Property Ratings at The Hawthorne Apartments
Poor condition upon move in. Loud street; not like loud city life, but screaming drug addicts that can't be shooed away. Additionally fees added to rent mid lease. Over $1k in cleaning fees is considered to be normal, which is absurd considering the condition we moved into.
I love the area, all of the best nightlife, food, and fun are near. Steps away from Seattle Central and just a few blocks away from Seattle U. Parks, shopping, ice-cream all if the best thing's are close. The building itself is great plenty o parking in garage, great staff that always help with our needs.
This building was constructed in 2001 and has been excellently maintained since. Property management staff are always friendly and easy to deal with, apartments are adequately sized with all the amenities us modern folk enjoy, and the price is on par with the area if not a tad cheaper than most places considering what you get. Ive lived here a year and a half and I plan on staying at least another year!
