One of Detroit's popular inner-ring suburbs, Southfield delivers a distinctly urban atmosphere uncommon to communities of its size. The city holds a place as one of the most important commercial centers in Lower Michigan – the large Southfield Town Center business complex (also known as the “Golden Triangle”) serves as the daily workplace for thousands and hosts conferences year-round. The community is popular for folks who work in the local business sector, but with downtown Detroit just fifteen miles away, Southfield is a convenient option for commuters as well.
The city offers extensive facilities for both indoor and outdoor sports from golf to ice hockey, giving folks ample opportunities to stay active year-round. The city’s art scene largely revolves around Park West Gallery, a first-rate venue that houses a diverse selection of exhibits and frequently hosts art auctions as well.

Property Ratings at The Heights of Southfield
The Leasing Team at the Heights are “Amazing”. I came for a tour, Cherita was very personable and courtesy. We viewed the available units. She was very informative to the point she had answered the questions before I had to ask. I applied for the apartment and notify of my approval fairly quickly. I’m excited to moving to a community where management really cares about their residents and if they are happy! I would definitely recommend the Heights!! Valencia
As an employee of the hospital up the street, this place is absolutely perfect. The units are huge and recently updated, the property is gated and there is even intercom for guests and food deliveries. They have been steadily improving every aspect of this place since I moved in and we all appreciate the people in the office.

This place is so horrible. I regret moving here. There is a roach issue that they don’t address before you move in and act as through they never it was a roach issue. In addition, the power is always going out! Even if the weather is not bad, the power just goes out for no reason. Today is Christmas and I am in the middle of cooking and getting ready for Christmas dinner with my family and the power just went off. This is ridiculous and inconvenient for my family. Also, everything in here is low quality and cheap. Everything is always coming apart or breaking. Nothing this place has to offer with ever match with how much you have to pay a monthly.

I would recommend the heights of Southfield to anytwhos looking for a place to stay and call home , the property is well kept and the staff is very professional and friendly and willing to work with you on any issues you may have which I had none but they wanted to know any suggestions I may have had to improve their already outstanding service
Do not move here! If I could give zero stars I would. It’s dirty, it has a roach infestation and the leasing agents lie to get you to sign your lease. They clean the hallways during tours so you don’t know they have bugs. Please DO NOT MOVE HERE. They were previously named THE TOWERS OF SOUTHFIELD. They changed their names to avoid bad reviews.

Hello, Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry you have not had a good experience with The Heights of Southfield. Please know that the hallways of all three towers are cleaned continually during the day in order to maintain the cleanliness of the buildings consistently. And the name change to The Heights is because the property has been under new ownership now for almost five years. While under new ownership we have made many improvements and The Heights continues to be a place many love to call home. Sincerely, The Heights of Southfield Management
I moved into the Heights of Southfield this summer and I will not be renewing my lease. There are constantly people coming into the apartment-exterminator, fire chief, random things that make having a stranger in your home a month occurrence. The parking lot has way too tall speedbumps that ruined my car and the parking lot is constantly filled with trash. The power goes out whenever it is windy. 30% of the time the elevator is out of service. There are always plumming issues and say goodbye to hot water. I ignored the other reviews when I decided to move in and it was the worst decision I could have made. Take my advice and move on
The Heights of Southfield apartments are really nice and very big! The balconies are a nice size too.
This apartment complex is old, run down, it has roaches and bed bugs. Living here is not safe.
Upon application for residence the property manager was extremely helpful and professional. I felt at home before I even moved in! A very peaceful and quiet property and friendly environment, as well as excellent parking. Highly recommended!
I love the quiet surroundings at night and the wild geese and smell of fresh cut grass in the day. The administrative office staff are polite, caring, and professional and they place the tenants' concerns above all else. They have a manager and assistant manager who will accept nothing less than excellence from their staff. Zero crime, nice quiet neighbors, great office staff, highly trained and disciplined maintenance technicians on call 24 hours a day, you can't ask for anything better. I've been here four years and love it.

Don’t move here. Leasing agents rent apartments knowing it’s infested with bugs. The Name used to be The Towers of Southfield and they changed it because of the horrible reviews. The office management ignores the issues and treat residents dismissively when approached regarding the infestation. They clean the halls before showings so bugs aren’t apparent. There is also an odor in the halls.

We pride ourselves on providing exceptional service so we are disappointed to hear that your service was unsatisfactory. I would love to discuss your concerns in further detail. Please call 248.356.3650 and ask for Crystal Kilgo, the property manager.
I have lived here over a year. And was going to move because I needed a 2 bedroom apartment. And wasn't for sure if any was available. But the staff was very helpful and accommodating. Crystal(manager) made sure that I had the apartment I wanted as well as needed. Living here has been a pleasure and I don't see myself going anywhere no time soon. I would always recommend others especially how great my experience has been with The Heights of Southfield.

I would love to move into this apartment! It's the perfect size and everything. My only problem is that to get approved you would have to be making 3.5x the monthly rent, which is pretty extreme, when the heat and water is free. Then I asked the lady what if someone is a couple hundreds short of that, and she said you'll get denied. That just does not make sense to me.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review regarding our approval qualifications. I'm sorry we were unable to consider your suggestion of allowing applicants to apply with a slightly lower income. We must be consistent in our approval processes to make sure that every prospect is given a fair and equal opportunity. If you would like to discuss your concerns I would love to hear from you. Ask for the manager, Crystal, at 248-356-3650.
My overall experience living here has been great! The staff is helpful, when I need anything they do not hesitate to get the job done. If you are looking for a comfortable new home, I do recommend this property. The office staff is always helpful & friendly

Hello Heights of Southfield resident! Thank you for your feedback, it is so appreciated. We are working really hard at the Heights to improve the community so that our residents have a comfortable, positive living experience while you make your home with us. Please let us know if there is anything you need or that we can do for you. Princeton Management strives to give excellent customer service; I am glad you are experiencing that at the Heights. Thanks, Jaci Churan Area Director Princeton Management
Their residency requirements are a bit unfair in my opinion. I got denied for a 2bd because I was short about $4,000 a year. Their requirements are that you gross 3.5x the rent. I called and asked if I could apply for a 1bd and they said I have to wait 6 months to reapply. 3.5x is a lot. As a person who has looked around a lot and looked at a lot of apartments I’ve never seen 3.5x mostly it’s 2-3x the rent. I’ve also not been denied. It’s a nice place, but not for everything they require!
Property Manager at The Heights of Southfield, Responded To This Review
Hello, Thank you for your feedback on The Heights of Southfield. I am glad to hear that you think that it is a nice place to live. While I appreciate your concerns regarding our approval process, each property within a property management company sets standards of approval that they then abide by for each applicant. The industry standard is exactly where The Heights falls in the 3.5 x the rent that is required, as well as all other requirements. The Heights is improving the community significantly, so I would invite you to apply once you are able to do so. We would love to have you as a resident. Sincerely, Jacleen Churan Area Director Princeton Management
Being someone who has lived is several homes in several states; this is by far my worse experience. I cleaned out all the cabinets, countertops, and floors before placing any of my belongings down and it became apparent that 1) The tenants before me did not keep clean nor clean up after themselves during their move out. They left behind dirty tupperware that was tucked away in one of the cabinets and contained dead roaches. 2) The company did not perform a thorough inspection of the home prior to me moving in. I had been welcomed to roaches and ants both dead and alive the further I got into my cleaning. I brought this to their attention immediately and it was about another month before anything was done about it. There is an unpleasant smell in the hallway leading to your apartment and even sometimes in the apartment itself that I have been having trouble getting rid of. Not to mention the smell of weed. We had issues with the A/C unit this past summer due to one of the water pumps being out (which apparently had been that way for some time) and ended up being stuck in an 80-degree home some nights. The security gate which recently got "updated" is still having issues. There is only a “guard” there during certain hours otherwise the gate bar is left open for free access. The washer and dryer on our floor have been out of order since I moved here. There are only two washers and two dryers per floor. So, it is either you wash your laundry on another floor or use another laundry facility. Although I understand that it is a tough task to deal with an array of people and personalities, the professionalism of the leasing staff is sad. You receive some form of attitude (tone of voice, interjection, rude rebuttals) from them no matter your approach. If you bring up an issue they respond as if you are inconveniencing them. There is no sense of urgency when it comes to asking for any kind of assistance on their end. The only good thing I can really say during my stay here so far is the professionalism of the maintenance men. The two I have encountered have been nothing but kind and respectful to me and they get the job done. They make conversation with you so that it's not just an awkward I'm going to stand here and watch you work type of situation. I would not suggest renting here currently. People are putting their hard earn money into these units and for them to be called “luxury” apartments, we all deserve way more than this.

Thank you for your feedback. We're sorry to hear that your experience with our community did not meet your expectations. It is our intent to provide the best service possible to all residents and prospects. Your comments will help us to improve our service.
Been here for awhile and I was considering moving but new management took over and I wanted to see how they would be and I am pleasantly surprised. They mean business! They are doing a lot of work around here and you can tell the difference. They still have some things to improve such as the gate in the front doesn't work and hasn't been working for a while. They made the lights brighter outside and that's cool. They still got a ways to go with some of these people who live here but they are going in the right direction and I think I will stay.
Property Manager at The Heights of Southfield, Responded To This Review
Thank you for taking the time to do a review! We are delighted that your residency has improved and we are very happy that you are enjoying the many improvements being made thru out the community. If you have any maintenance concerns or issues, please feel free to come by the office! Thank you for your residency!
The apartment is okay, just don't like the maintenance people and the office staff is very unprofessional and they take their time make serious repairs to your apartment. But other than that it's okay since they have remodeled the building looks much nicer since I have been living there.
I moved there because I heard they were making improvements. It turns out to be true. The floors have been remodeled, there are new security doors and cameras and all of the apartment doors have been painted a beautiful emerald been. I'm glad i decided to move there.
They don't respect the immigrants who live here No security
