Property Ratings at The Helix
Easily the worst apartment complex I have ever seen. It's like no one works here. Calls, emails, voicemails are ignored. Trash is always overflowing. Pool is unusable because it doesn't get warm enough to ever get in and it's never cleaned. Half of the equipment in the gym is broken. Some tenants make this place completely uninhabitable. I've been kept up by extremely loud music, seen dog poop and throw up on the carpet in the halls left for days, doors with broken knobs for months. People steal packages yet this company has the audacity to CHARGE for a parcel holding service that doesn't work. There are plenty of other apartments in this price range around, stay far far away and trust the reviews.
This is the worst building I have lived in, in all of my 14 years renting. Once you sign the lease, prepare to be ignored. The apartment hadn't been cleaned or prepped on the day I was suppose to be moving in - I had to rearrange my movers and rental truck. The building constantly smells like dirty wet dog and there are stains EVERYWHERE. My car was broken into and attempted to be stolen, as well as a separate occasion of someone in the building backing into it and leaving. There are no cameras. Every single package gets stolen. The mailboxes are broken into constantly. I haven't met a single person who lives here that actually likes it. Everyone hates it. Heed my advice and listen to the reviews unlike me (thinking there's no way it's that bad. IT IS).
Management is incompetent, the apartment was dirty when I moved in, my keys did not work and I wouldn't recommend this property to anyone.
Helix got new owners and management over the past year or so. In that time, the complex has done very poorly to say the least. The complex smells like pee all of the time, until a month ago, there was constant barking throughout the day. Asked for management assistance with the barking and received abnormal resistance each time and made to look like an enemy. Several mornings I took cold showers because there was no hot water. Incredibly funny - the elevator interface displays 9 when there are only 6 floors in the building; the stair windows at one time had screws drilled into them so that the windows could not be opened; doors are not closing or locking which defeats the purpose of the secure entry; improperly placed trees with sap falling from them onto nice vehicles; delivered packages being stolen or incorrectly placed, and maintenance people entering your apartment without authorization and leaving unsigned work orders. With all the above, I recently got a 5% rent increase to continue my lease. The office management team lacks the necessary skills to properly run a complex.

Thank you for taking the time to write this candid review. Our team strives to make our community as comfortable as we can for our residents, and we apologize that your experience has contradicted this. Given the opportunity, we’d like another chance to discuss each of these points with you in person. Would you please contact our office so that we may speak further about these concerns?
This place switched companies a year ago and it’s gone down hill. The back of the complex is filled with dog poop and pee, and no, I’m not talking about the dog area. There’s also a terrible urine smell by the mail area in Building B. They used to have a sauna, pool and hot tub. All of those are gone and they don’t seem to care about trying to fix them. The water has been shut off or freezing cold so many times. Expect to make a lot of maintenance requests. They might be filled in two weeks. They think by “updating” the elevator and putting up a few new fence boards are going to improve upon something. Lipstick on a pig. The office staff is so incompetent. We have had to put our 60 day notice in 4 times and we were still charged twice. Please, do yourself a favor; go ANYWHERE BUT HERE!!!
