Property Ratings at The Henry B
I have put up with a lot while living here for just a few months, but I have reached my limit with them SHUTTING THE WATER OFF WITHOUT NOTICE MULTIPLE TIMES. This has happened at least once a month since I moved in in August, and in the past 2 weeks they have shut the water off 4 times randomly. They say its for leak repairs, but the "leak" has yet to be fixed and they even let it slip to my roommate that they were turning the water off to "save on the water bill". There is no email communication or notice whatsoever any time this happens, and at this very moment the water is turned off and everyone on staff has went home for the day. There are countless other problems with living here, but this place is just uninhabitable at this point. I am moving to another city and I already know with their lack of written correspondence that they will try to scam me on the way out and violate the lease terms as much as possible. I have asked multiple times for written confirmation of my notice to vacate and have received nothing, along with the water for the building still being turned off.
THE WORST PLACE YOU COULD EVER LIVE!!! Management is awful. ROACH INFESTED AND UNWILLING TO HELP. They NEVER fixed my AC, my unit was 89 degrees for weeks!!! They violated my lease AND they NEVER sent back my security deposit!! Do yourself a favor and avoid this place at all costs!!!
I’ve been living in apartments in San Antonio for almost 10 years now and I have NEVER had as bad experience as I’ve had with “the Henry B”. Even after Roscoe took over, maintenance NEVER does their job and I don’t know if it’s the front desk who doesn’t put the work order in or the maintenance staff who just doesn’t get the work done; but you literally have to call every single day until someone finally comes out. No one ever seems to be on the same page which impacts their customer service greatly. I even reported a GAS LEAK to the emergency line once and NO ONE ever called me back or came out!! Very disappointed I still have 6 months left here. I would do more research before signing. The prices and floor plans will woo you in but don’t let it fool you!

We’re disappointed to hear that you haven’t enjoyed your time at our community, and we’d love the chance to improve your experience. Please feel free to give us a call at (210) 691-1992 or swing by the leasing office so we may speak further on these matters. We look forward to hearing from you.
Old and needs major updating needed! A/C problems on the daily with plumbing and hot water heaters always going out because their so old. Management is very unprofessional and rude! Although Maintance are working hard and doing their job with what they have to work with. Beware of this complex , you will move into your apartment with a list of repairs needed that usually will be promised but never get done .
I've been living here for about three months, and I really loved it. I live in the 2 story unit with a roommate, which is two bed two bath. The upstairs bedroom (my bedroom) is actually a converted loft. My favorite part of the bedroom is the HUGE window. We rarely turn any lights on in the house until the sun sets because it's just so bright from sunlight. The vaulted ceilings and 2-story aspect also makes it feel like you aren't living it an apartment. It feels like you live in a house!!! Moving in was super easy. We toured the unit, fell in love with it, and contacted the front office to start the move-in process. The staff was awesome-- we had issues with CPS energy and renter's insurance, and they were very patient despite my numerous changes and emails. They also allowed my roommate and I to split our dog fees in half and pay them over the course of two months (since they are a little steep). The first month, we found a few minor, petty issues (pretty minor, a door off its sliding track, one handle didn't turn on the water, a lightbulb that was out) and the maintenance man came out the next day to fix all these tiny issues. He's also very nice, and he says hello whenever he sees me. As far as bugs, we haven't had any issues. We saw a couple tiny bugs in the first couple weeks, but I haven't seen any since. Certainly no cockroaches or beetles. There are tiny jumping spiders on the porch, but that makes me happy because they protect my plants! This apartment is definitely a great place for nature lovers. There are a lot of beautiful blooming plants and trees, birds galore, and a lot of neighbors who grow plants. I see a cardinal almost daily, and I've seen more hummingbirds here than anywhere else! All of my neighbors are awesome too. The most noise I hear all week is on Sunday afternoons when one of my neighbors has friends over and they grill in the grassy area off their porch--how nice is that? The dogs in the complex are nice, everything is just nice. Granted, the apartment isn't absolutely perfect. There are some paint splashes and some of the doors don't totally shut. But the important things (kind staff, quick maintenance response) are great, and for the price of this pretty large apartment, it's absolutely worth it. I would strongly recommend this apartment complex, especially to anyone looking for a quiet, pet-friendly, budget-friendly place to live comfortably!
I"m not enjoying my stay here. I have serval reasons but I will start here. My daughter came to visit with her dog. I have been recently told that I now have to pay $500.00 for a dog that was only in my apartment for less than two days. $500.00 is a pet deposit normally for damages, which I assume is refundable after I move. I plan to contact an attorney or my military JAG office and corporate concerning this.
Delapidated Cabinets, Showers and Tub, Roach infested apartment. Yes, I've killed a bunch of them since I moved here. Car tires are getting stolen on the parking lot. I regret signing a lease here. Needless to say I will not be renewing my lease. Did I tell you about the USELESS STAFF?
I absolutely love living at Fifth Avenue. The managing staff and maintenance staff are wonderful and are extremely engaging and caring every time I go inside the office. The apartment itself feels like home at all times. For the price, you are getting more than most apartments in San Antonio. It's a great apartment complex for anyone and I highly recommend at least checking it out!
These apartments are perfect for just about anyone. New families, college students, retirement, etc. It is surrounded by beautiful trees and wildlife. It's not too far from civilian things, such as shopping malls, grocery stores, movie theaters, and so on! It's in a beautiful location and filled with beautiful people. I like to see my apartment complex as a smaller tight-knit community than just individual housing.
This Apartment complex is a great place to call home, not only are you located in the best part of San Antonio but the whole staff at Fifth Avenue make you feel right at home when a lot of us come from different parts of the state and even country. I'm proud to be living in a great community. Keep up the great work and thank you for being part of my family.
I love living at Fifth Avenue! The office and mantainance staff are so awesome! They truly care about their residents. Mantainance needs are handled in an amazing amount of time, mine personally have usually been same day. Rachel and Marilyn are the sweetest women ever and actually take the time to get to know you. I really love living here!
