Property Ratings at The Heritage Apartments
Absolutely and undoubtedly, this has been the worst experience of my life. If you end up in one of the older units, the kitchen cabinets are practically unusable; they are extremely old and genuinely filthy. Expect to have cockroaches in your home—do not doubt this for a second. These pests are so resilient that nothing seems to kill them. Despite my apartment always being clean, without a single dirty dish or piece of trash to attract these creatures, I was constantly battling with cockroaches. Moreover, the presence of mice makes living here truly miserable. It’s a constant torment. The staff are utterly disrespectful and unprofessional. They handle interactions in the worst possible manner, showing no sense of decency or respect.
WORSTS APT EVER. They have bugs everywhere and I’ve lived here for a year and never once have I seen them spray for bugs. They ladies in the front and so rude!! And then do to them not spraying more bugs have came and on everything the WALLS, IN THE DISH WASHER, IN THE BATHROOM, CRAWLING ON A CLOTHES, OUR DRESSER, TVS!! And then we our bill and they added a 100 dollars more to our rent for no reason.
There are a lot of problems with this complex. Between moving into a dirty apartment with hair down the sink and dirty floors. The front office and maintenance are terrible. I had to call multiple times to have my water heater and my air conditioning unit so called “fixed”. Bug infestation was prominent since they so called stopped spraying due to COVID. Then a couple of months after I move then they are spraying again! Hidden fees and charges were charged after me and my girlfriend had finished our lease and moved out. The office does not keep things up to date and will charge you over the littlest of things. I repeat and I will say it over and over again. DO NOT MOVE HERE!
I have been living here for two years and will move very soon to my new work station. I am highly satisfied for their outstanding support, maintenance and understanding on any relevant issues. The working staffs are always friendly.
Moved into it with it infested. They brought experimenters that did basically nothing to help the problem. moving in many things were downright disgusting as well, many many hours of cleaning to get it habitable.Disgusting kitchen interior, cabinets, and stove are gross, and i don't mean style-wise. they are torn dirty and roach invested. microwave is also not included contridicting whats stated.
Like other residents have complained before me there's roaches. The laundry was in fact often flooded and washer and dryers are often not working. I never used the pool because it was always really nasty. Residents can be very noisy. They fight loudly and aggressively destroying property and often at night which was frustrating especially when I had exams the next morning. At one point the office called me to let me know someone had tried to break into my apartment. Luckily I was out of town and nothing got stolen but I know other residents have had their things stolen. There are a few things to complain about about these apartments, but security is my main concern. The rent is very cheap compared to other apartments and they have a large living space. However, I did not feel safe while I lived here at quite a few points throughout my stay, which is why I am moving to more expensive apartments where I hope I do not have to worry about my safety. The 24 hr emergency number is NOT reliable. I forgot my keys one Sunday that I drove from my hometown and tried calling the number several times but no one ever answered and the voice mail box was full. I had to rent a motel for the night.
During I lived here more than 2 years, there were security problems several times (Theft, Car destruction). Moreover, I always lived with insects, roaches were my roommates. The offices asked me the raise of the rent every time I renewed. Even if you found the initial rent was very cheap, you should be careful. Last but not least, people in the office were not kind at all after I signed for the contract. Now, do you think the rent is cheap?
Stayed there during winter/spring of 2012-2013. My lease was up at end of January. I moved out, and they prorated me 2 days (as they agreed). They continued to charge me for three months and stated that I broke my lease, so they added all these charges. I didn't find out until the year after that i had all these charges (2014). I call the apartment complex to try and figure out why I am being charged so much, they don't have any info. I asked for corporate info but they gave only gave me an email, which I never receive a reply from. The email leads to a collection company. DO NOT RENT HERE
So I’ve had 12 mice in 11 months, caught. More got away. They add water to the rent so you have to call every month to get the new price, it’s obnoxious. And, I was short $2.75 and one lady said to pay it the next rent cycle, then four days later another worker calls saying my accounts delinquent and they’ve tried to call 4 times, which wasn’t true at all. The pools were almost always gross. There are trees that house birds, that for some reason all squeal as loud as possible at 12:30-5am, and it almost always keeps me up. I’ve had noises neighbors, neighbors that literally tied two puppies to a balcony railing and just left them there while they barked like crazy. And the restaurant the next parking lot down plays music at insane volumes at least once a week. DO NOT LIVE HERE. NOT WORTH IT, NO MATTER WHAT DEAL... I would never recommend this place.
Worse experience of living there for 8 months. Expensive rents, problems here and there on site including laundry, pools and the so called apparently gym which actually has nothing. Very disturbed neighborhood, lack of communication between the office and renter and charging over without warning or notice and they just bomb you in with late payment notice without actually letting you know. Total rent which they tell you something would actually be different from what you'd expect every month. There's a lot of better apartments out there near Texas Tech than this. I lived at Ulofts for two years and never had such complaints or problems and in fact there rent mounds up to be the same as Ulofts with everything included and with no washer/dryer in units, minus the gym and other better facilities Ulofts had with in the one price they offered. Put a $50-100 more and live some where better than this because in actual there total rents from the month come out to be more than other apartments which apparently sounds higher.
My family and I moved into The Heritage about 2 months ago and we love it! The staff in the office are super friendly and helpful! The maintenance are expedient and very respectful! The apartment was clean and the grounds are green and lush so its perfect for my daughter and dog to play! They have a 24 hour maintenance line and an onsite officer, which I love! Would recommend this complex to everyone!
The management is unprofessional and units have bedbugs.
I am very pleased with the services Heritage provides. Conveniently placed, I attend school and appreciate the short commute. Love the 3 swimming pool locations, and that there is plenty of room for me and my friends to hang outside of the apartment. The office staff is wonderful! Anytime I have gone to the office with a concern, they have helped me. I recently moved into a renovated one bedroom apartment and it is beautiful! I love their reserved parking program! I got a space right outside of my apartment. I feel comfortable on this property. They have a courtesy officer, who lives on property.
I have lived here for 5 years now, and these 3 are the only reasons why I havent move away. Positive: 10 mins from campus Cheap Dog Friendly Negatives: The rent utilities are due the 2nd of the month, but utility fees dont post until the 8th. so you have to pay 6 days of late penalties for utilities. They havent fixed the system in last 6 years now Horrible Management(4 ladies team up on you, you just want to run away) Neighbors don't care if its 6 am or 10 pm, there is always a fight, or someone blaring their music at 6am on a saturday No Parking, even if you have a parking tag, you can get towed, if management doesnt like you, they keep towing your car, hapened to me 3 times. After the second time, towing company told me its the manager who keeps telling them to tow away my truck Laundromats usually DO NOT work In winter its freezing, in summer its extremely hot AC unit and Water Heater dont work at the same time, you have to flip the switches yourself. In winter everything freezes, ive seen many people slide and fall at stairs and break bones. No professionalism No leadership
Avoid this place if possible. My "updated" apartment DOES NOT have washer/dryer hookups. The apartments are filthy. Bed bugs are rampant, and the complex will make you pay the $800 fee to Terminix to get rid of the bugs that were already in the apartment when you move in. Staff is rude, and the east section is definitely unsafe at night. Seriously, I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy.
Worst apartment complex ever. Rude and uninformed staff. lawns and premises not at all clean. Gave me a 24 hour vacate notice saying I haven't paid my rent, even though I had paid it 2 weeks before due date and it was credited to their account. Not at all safe. Sketchy neighborhood. I caught a man trying to break into houses. No security. Inadequate lighting at night. I rented here online as I was coming from a different country and this was the closest place to Tech. Huge Mistake. Will not recommend anyone to stay here. Old apartments with rude staff.
