Beachwood is a suburban city of Cleveland. Beachwood gets its name from the pretty Beech trees that once covered the area. Today, Beachwood is home to many businesses and is considered one of the great places to live in Ohio. There are several corporations that call Beachwood home, giving the city a sturdy economy and plenty of job opportunities. Interstate 271 and other access roads make traveling in and out of Beachwood easy.
There are a lot of great shopping opportunities within Beachwood like the large shopping complex, Beachwood Place. There is also an outdoor shopping area that hosts a wide range of stores. One of the main attractions of this city is the Maltz Museum of Jewish Heritage, a state-of-the-art museum about the history of Jewish immigrants in the United States. Another great feature of the city is the completely accessible playground, the Preston’s H.O.P.E. Playground.

Property Ratings at The Hiatus
I had a terrible experience as a tenant at My Place Group’s 41 West property. During a 4-day power outage, they offered no alternative housing, and the emergency lights in the building stopped working, creating unsafe conditions. All my food went bad, and my renter’s insurance didn’t cover the loss. After moving out in November, it took over six weeks to hear about my security deposit. They deducted charges for a stove I never used, cleaning cabinets I had already cleaned, and repainting small spots on the walls where I had hung items. The charges were excessive, and communication was poor throughout my tenancy. I do not recommend renting from My Place Group.
The building is very nice and clean, great amenities and the staff is very nice. If something is broken it usually gets fixed pretty quickly. Overall great place to live.
When I first toured The Hiatus, I immediately feel in love with it! Laura, my tour guide, was amazing and was patient and helpful to me when I needed time to figure things out as I was moving from out of state. It’s been a great home since day one!
The building is a great location. The design of the building is great. Plus, there is tons of storage available in the basement. Another benefit is that the building has kitchen fans. My old building downtown didn't have a fan so when you cooked Salmon it smelled like fish for a week. Laura and Rachel are wonderful property managers.
I really wish 0 stars could be an option on this app! Stay away from this apartment at all costs unless you want to kiss your security deposit goodbye. The non-existent management will charge you up with the most ridiculous, bogus charges without providing any source of proof of damage or repairs. And good luck getting in touch with the management! They are never at the property, they never answer the phone calls, and they will never return any voicemails or emails. The only way to get their attention is to find the owner and get in touch with them. Even after that, you still won’t be talking to the site manager! -Pros: location -Cons: everything else
I searched high and low for an apartment my son could lease for his summer internship in Cleveland. The Hiatus was perfect. Clean (actually brand new), in a safe area and close to everything one could possibly need - restaurants, groceries, shopping, coffee, etc. I found management very responsive and the move-in, move-out process couldn't have been easier. I saw residents of all ages too. Highly recommend!
Management doesn't follow through with what they'll say they will, there's still things in my apartment that are not finished even though I moved in two months ago (ex. there's literally a hole in my wall that should be some kind of cable hookup I think??), and I haven't been able to access the renters portal so I've been waiting on them to fix it for two months. The building is nice but it's just not good enough for the cost.
don’t live here!!!! They had me sign a lease with a firm move in date, I show up to move in, and THE BUILDING IS NOT READY YET. No communication at all!!! I had all my stuff ready to go. The building has not been secure since they “opened” so packages have been routinely been stolen. They don’t respond to requests and leave the office early! Tenants were even locked out of their own home. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!!
All residents moved in the first week of September 2022. Pros: They fix things in a timely manner inside the apt. Cons: 1)There are 3 elevators in the complex and only one(with cardboard floor and moving blanket covers on the walls) has worked consistently since September 1st. 2)The gated dog park opened in mid-November. 3)The amenities such as gym, game room, rooftop, won’t be ready for a few more weeks. At this rate maybe in couple months.
