Property Ratings at The Highline
When I first moved here the high line was a nice apartment but it has only gone downhill from there. Leasing doesn’t even answer the phone anymore and every time and I do mean every time rent is due utilities are not available through the portal though leasing has promised for months they would be. The property manager seems to never be presence on the first of the month when rent is due and it’s a temp placed in leasing who will tell you they don’t know anything about the building or leasing. At this point I’m not sure how the apartment continues to run. Then residents themselves just destroy the building dogs are constantly pooping in the halls, kids drop food and trash in the halls, at one point due to dirty neighbors I actually had roaches, and I have woken up to the carpeted hallway flooded from who knows what.Like the entire building just needs a revamp.

So today I took a tour with Maya, the leasing Manager and I loved every thing how she showed us everything from the nice hallways to the very nice workout area. She was very pleasant and gave me a great tour of the building was very. Was very impressed with the building very well kept up clean me and my husband are thinking this may be the move for us. I give it a 10 out of 10.

Hi - thanks for letting us know we went Beyond Expectations! We'll be sure to share with the team here at The Highline Apartments!
I have had an exceptional experience at the Highline apartments. As a long-time community resident, I am thoroughly pleased with every aspect. Every part of the community is excellent, from the property manager and maintenance team to the concierge service and the convenience of its location. It truly feels like home to me.

Hey there - our pleasure! Happy you are having a great experience.
Every year there is a new leasing team. Every single month there is an issue with the billing system. My phone calls are never returned. After being promised by the leasing staff that the humidity and poor air quality in my unit would be addressed if I resign my lease again, I have been completely ignored for months.

Hi - I'm so sorry to hear your experience didn't meet your expectations.
I really enjoyed living here because it was clean and quiet. I have never had a pest problem and my neighbors are friendly and quiet in their own units. I am VERY appreciative of the cleaning staff that I see every morning on my way to work. I'm also very appreciative of the maintenance staff. I had one major issue last year in my unit and the staff fixed the issue within a reasonable amount of time. I haven't had an issue with my unit since then. I love that we are next door to shopping and grocery stores.

Overall, I have enjoyed living at the Highline and I would recommend it to someone looking for a nice, spacious apartment! I can definitely see changes in the property since they have new management. The new workers don't seem as genuine as the older ones in my opinion. Tatiana is one of the workers who stayed for the transition, and she has always been so helpful since day 1! They MUST keep her. Also, the transition to new management wasn't very smooth, so I did have some minor issues with communication with the leasing office. Despite this, I would still give this place a high rating. One thing to keep in mind, especially if you have a 2 bedroom, is that the walls are very very very thin for the Bartoli floorplan. I constantly hear everything my roommate does, which can be very annoying. If you live alone, you should be fine because i never hear my neighbors or the people above me.

The Highline Apartments is a great location to reside. Management is awesome, active courtesy officer is on site and the community is great. Garage parking within the building and It’s the best in the area. I would choose this place over all of the other places to live in Hyattsville.

I have lived here for almost a year and have had a very positive experience. I love My apartment and location next to Safeway, the metro, and Movies and restaurants as well as Prince Georges Plaza mall. Maintenance requests are answered quickly, and I would recommend this building. Big windows and natural light, and have great air conditioning, I also love how friendly the staff in the leasing office are. Phone calls and emails are answered and responded to very quickly.

Thank you so much for the wonderful review. We love the Highline and are residents. Have a wonderful week
When I moved in, there was stains on carpets and I marked them on the move-in inspection form. After I moved-out, they charged me $2000 for the stains. When I asked many times for the inspection form and documents related to charging my deposit, they only gave 2 pictures of the stains. Then when I asked them if they have checked my inspection form which shows the stains were already there when I moved in, they just ignored me and never respond to my calls or messaged since then. Avoid this place if you want your deposit back.

If you had asked me 2 months ago if i loved living at the Highline, i would've given you a definite yes, BUT now.....im at the point where i would rather stay at work than be at home. It has been 38 days of no AC in one of the hottest summers recorded in History. Management's solution. A fan! i have recorded temperatures of up to 89 degrees in my apartment. They took $250 off the rent for the month of July but that fails in comparison to how much anguish we have all been in. NOT just 1 floor, 2! thats over 60+ residents with no air! i am flabbergasted at the complete disregard that has been shown by the property Manager Heather. A couple of other residents and i have reported these issues to DPIE and i really hope something will be done.

My car was broken into 3 days after I first moved in. Apart from that setback, I have enjoyed living here overall. The building is quiet, neighbors are respectful. Very convenient location. Management is nice. The common areas are kept clean in the building. I stay to myself and that's how I like it.
The Leasing office has ZERO accountability. They are kind when they tour and want you to move in. But once you do the support ends there. I have had several issues here and have come to the leasing office and have been referred to 'their boss' who has no real email or number. They never follow through and don't have answers to ANYTHING. They tow tenants vehicles while they are moving in, and then charge them the tow fees. I have gone to the leasing office about this issue SEVERAL times. They have not followed through and will continue not to. If you want to live somewhere where the leasing office actually follows through with tenants then don't move here.
I would not suggest this complex to anyone over the age of 30. I was quite eager to depart from The Highline due to the below issues: 1) The space is overrun with college students and yojng residents who are noisy and use weed and cigarettes in their units regularly. I experienced the smell of both weed and cigarettes wafting into my apartment on a consistent basis. Management slips letters under the doors of all residents on a regular basis urging residents to stop smoking instead of finding the source of the problems and evicting the problem residents. 2) There is no recycling here. Because residents were recycling incorrectly, this feature was taken away. Because recycling is important to me, I had to find off-site recycling centers to use on a regular basis. 3) There was a mistake on my account in which the resident portal stated that I owed over $1000 that I did not owe. It took six months for management to clear up this charge and I had to issue several reminders for them to do so. 4) For an entire year and a half, I dealt with debilitating noise from neighbors. Every evening, I experienced loud music with lots of bass from around 8pm-3am. This shook my walls and my bed and I took to sleeping on the floor with my kitchen fan on so that the noise would be blocked out and so that I wouldn't feel the bass in my body. Management consistently called the offending residents and offered flimsy reminders of the noise policy, but the residents never cleaned up their acts and took the reminders seriously. Having to constantly hear people's music on a nightly basis (with management refusing to issue actual warnings, check-in on the awful behavior in person, and evict residents) was utter hell as a working professional. I was even told by a concierge that the noise "was not that loud." Hearing and feeling bass indicates that the tenant is, in fact, too loud. 5) I was routinely catcalled by the men working at the barbershop next door. I started to enter through different parts of the building in order to avoid them. In general, the area is not safe. If you Google crime rates on America Blvd, you will discover this fairly easily. 6) Customer service was atrocious and my emails often went unanswered. As someone who is currently living elsewhere and finally experiencing truly professional management and courteous neighbors, I wish I would have never spent my time and money engaging with The Highline.

Let me start by saying not everything that glitters is gold. This place is a prime example. Materials in the apartment are cheap and flimsy made to look “nice”. Units are overpriced for what you get. Also NOTHING is included in the rent. You even have to pay for trash. Customer service started out great in the beginning but quickly decline. Response to emails and calls are ignored. Only communication we get is a flyer slipped under our doors from time to time.

THE GOOD The maintenance staff is responsive. THE BAD: A strong smell of sewage (Hydrogen sulfide) began to emanate intermittently from the plumbing in my unit about a month after I moved in. It became more and more frequent, sometimes several time a week and at times it was strong enough to smell it from the far end of my bedroom. Maintenance tried to fix it, but they still don’t know what the cause is. THE UGLY: Highline made an unauthorized charge to my bank account. After I brought it to their attention (with proof in the form of bank statements showing where they charged me twice), it took them 49 days to return my money, but only as a rent credit. What’s worse is that to date I have not received an apology and during that time the property manager did not respond to my emails, only addressing my issue when she ran into me in the common area. After the lockdown, I had no way of getting info and resorted to emailing other people. It was only then she responded. If customer service is as important to you as it is to me, keep looking.
Great leasing office staff, nice building and great location the Highline apartments the place to be!!!
