Property Ratings at The Hilltop Apartment Homes
This is a great place to began your apartment life in Temple, The renovated apartments are beautiful and classy. The 1 bedroom loft apartment is my favorite. For the price of a 2 bedroom/1 bath, it is very spacious and cozy. The apartment community is secluded, so no traffic noise or loud house neighbors. You won't find renovated apartments at these prices as Hilltop Apartments.

Hello, we are glad you find our community a great place to live! It is great to hear our pricing for the homes here is a good fit for you. Take care.
Not providing what I signed on my lease!!! Pool closed the whole sommer, laundry room badly damaged, dog park is disgusting! Won’t give me even a little discount for all the inconveniences! New paint outside doesn’t change a thing!!!

We love having you in our community! It warms our hearts to hear our friendly service has been a highlight in your experience. We hope to continue to raise the bar.
MOLD MOLD MOLD! We just moved in two months ago and already had a major AC leak that soaked one of the carpets in the second bedroom. We alerted the apartment’s emergency management line as soon as we noticed the leak, and they came and fixed the leak same day and promised us that someone would come out soon and treat the now soaked carpet. It wasn’t until a entire week later that they had a carpet cleaning company come and remove the water from the carpet. Plenty of time for mold to accumulate. We started smelling a horrid smell and still smelled it even after they “cleaned” the carpet and told us everything should be okay. We recently opened up the AC ourselves and pulled the carpet back and saw visible signs of mold. We also bought a mold test kit and left it by the AC to confirm, and within a few days we saw white mold growing in the petri dish. We’ve constantly have told these people that we think there is mold, and they never took it serious enough. Today my girlfriend and I woke up feeling extremely nauseous and with heavy headaches. These are symptoms we have been having ever since the ac leak, but today was the worst. It has been over a month since the leak and the apartment management Amber and Megan are still dragging their heels on this situation. We were finally told today 11-1 that area management would be calling us today to resolve this but I’m not holding my breath on that. I am holding my breathe though in our apartment because we simply can not breathe without complications. And on top of that we have a cat and lord knows what it’s doing to her health.
Giving the place one star is giving it to much credit. Front door barely latched, patio door was broken, there was spilt coffee on the walls, I had 2 stove burners in the 12 months I lived there, put in multiple work orders and even went up to the front office to try and get my other 2 burners, cabinet door was propped up to look decent for walk through but upon moving in discovered it was broken, maintenance tried saying “we went there everyday this week and nobody was home” I was a stay at home mother never heard a knock and my husband caught them smoking pot at the gas station, there’s so many crackheads you could probably win a competition with downtown Killeen, then moving out was a hassle. The owner stated that technically we don’t need a 3 bed so we don’t need to move out. They refused to give us our rental history so we could move to a new place. And now a year later trying to charge us for “damages”
I moved here about 6 months ago and love it! My apartment feels like home and is very quite. Everyone here has been very helpful.
The apartments themselves are fairly run of the mill, not very special buildings and seemingly standard sizes. But the location being just off the interstate and being near several different restaurants and a Walmart, Sam's Club, Aldis and an HEB. Management is a stickler to when rent is due, but are always willing to compromise on how much you pay when you can as long as you let them know before hand. Over all, a good place to live.
DO NOT MOVE HERE! 1. Management is terrible!! 2. Pests everywhere..spiders, bees, COCKROACHES (despite the quarterly “pest control”) and asking for additional spraying. 3. Renters are not screened, I have seen cops here so many times, cars being broken into (management not doing anything to attempt to help the situation), and there are definitely drugs around the complex. 4. 100 degree temps during the summer... forget about staying cool if you live on the top floor... 5. oh and don’t bother with the pool because they don’t maintain it. There are always bugs, leaves, and other things in there. 6. Have a maintenance emergency? Such as flooding... might as well just pick everything off the floor and hope for the best because they won’t be quick about getting to you. 7. The laundry facility, what a joke. 8 washers and 10 dryers and about 5 total work.. out of all of them. 8. If you have an extenuating circumstance and need to move and can’t give the full notice... you’re pretty much screwed.. they are money hungry scammers and they do not give a crap about their tenants. I HIGHLY ENCOURAGE YOU TO LOOK ELSEWHERE. Don’t be fooled by the entrance and the show apartment or the $$$ off your first month... IT ISN’T WORTH IT!!
This place seem to have scheme going with Rapid Recovery Towing, a company they have contracted to tow resident vehicles. I've lived here for 3 month and have had my car towed twice. The first time the leasing office "forgot" to give me a parking permit. I missed a half day of work due to this oversight. When they issue me the parking pass (post tow and impound), I informed them that it would not fit on my rear view mirror console. The manager instructed me to just place it on the dash board of my car where it can be seen. I've utilized that method every time I parked my car. Well...my car was towed again. The tow company claim they did not see it. I was also informed by the leasing office this morning that they informed everyone they upgraded to stickers (as parking permits)....citing they had too my occurrences of this nature (residence vehicles erroneously towed). The towing company is requiring me to pay $298, and the leasing has informed me that they will not assist. I asked for the corporate number and was given the number to a voicemail recording. I called the least back and was informed that they (corporate) typically replies to their voicemails within a day or two. I'm going to pick up my car and immediately make arrangements to move out by the end of the month. Not to add there has been at least 4 instances of domestic violence or disturbance conveniently between 2 and 5 in the morning which woke me from my sleep.
Very slow on maintenance calls. Its understandable but to a point. They always say understaffed but never do anything to fix it. Been here almost 3 years and it feels no changes have been made. Also they have the worst washer dryer room. A good 90 percent of the machines work. You're lucky if get out of the room without losing a dollar or 2.
So excited to move in . Seems like an awesome environment to be living in . The scenery and area is so nice and peaceful. I can't wait to make the Brooke apartment my new home !
Beautiful environment and amazing help all around good place
Amazing people in the office and help step by step
Worst place I have ever lived. Thankful I only signed a 3 month lease. Roach problem. Gross, crusty apartments that are nothing like the model home you visit on a tour. Have put in several maintenance requests, none have been addressed. Bad insulation Can't wait to move out.
I was charged a fee of $400. for my pet, which is against their own policy. To pacify me they've given me $5 off the monthly pet rent. Ok, then there are the issues of an extremely assistant worker in that office. She never offered any solutions to our issues; she can only understand how to bill people. Well, that wouldn't be awful if they were itemized bills (that could logically be explained). She lied about the times of notices we received.a fee. For instance, she claimed that this was our second notice; when it was our first. All of my information has been zeroed out; so, I'm unable to put in a work order online. The worker claimed to have emailed everyone about a lock change in the laundromat. When I confronted her, her demeanor was street-like and below par. She proceeded to take a louder tone with me. To avoid assaulting her I left, promptly. The manager is a wonderful problem solver with strong people skills. The other young lady in the office is both professional and personable. But that one who handles the "accounts" brings the office, the Brooke Apts, Richmark properties a failing grade. Despite the lies and bad attitude, the apartments are modern and the outer aesthetics are outstanding. They could improve on cleaning the AC shafts, vents and the inner chimney chutes on a regular basis. In summary, the dwellings are lovely, the manager possess strong soft skills but that one bad attitude, who also lies raises an eyebrow if would recommend the Brooke Apts to anyone I respected.
I have lived here for the passed 6 month and it has been horrible. In the summer my unit did not have working a/c. Then my apartment was broken into and the renters insurance they require you to buy doesn't even cover theft. Finally the parking here is horrible. There is never any parking and then if you park in a non parking zone they will tow you and the first offense is $300. I would stay far away from this place. The office staff is not friendly what so ever. All they care about is collecting your rent money.
These apartments are very nice! Under went an update recently and I really like the backsplash in the kitchen. Very clean throughout the unit. locals seem approachable and nice. Facilities are numerous including playground, dog park, and pool. Pool seems to be kept up frequently which is good. Overall I would definitely recommend the apartment complex.
1 BR with Banister columns separating the living room. 1 bathroom closer from the vanity with semi-walking closet. Kitchen with hardwood floor with appliances of stove, dishwasher, and refrigerator. Including the small patio. This apartment is much smaller than my first apartment here in the same complex. As the other size was 675 sq. ft. 1BR.Bar separating the kitchen. Dining room and living room combination and walk-in closet in the bedroom. And the patio much bigger than the efficiency I am in now. I have been in these apartments of Brooke Apartments in Temple, Texas for 8 years since April 28, 2007.
I loved the floor plan, community, and reasonable price for my apartment at first. It's still cozy, and I would have loved to stay here for much longer than I plan to now. It is an old building, so expect your AC to work overtime---triple overtime. Your electric bill will be insane. I am in an upgraded apartment, and I do like the newer touches around my home. The maintenance used to respond very slowly, but has recently caught up on requests. I waited nearly a year for requests I put in before officially moving in to the apartment. (Bathroom door was too big for the frame so it wouldn't close, bathroom cabinets, broken vanity, toilets running constantly). It seems like every day something else breaks, and it's not user error. The building is visibly aged, and needs serious repair. There are several cracks in the patio, and water damage on the outdoor walls and doors. The only complaint I still have regarding maintenance in my apartment are the front of my bathroom drawers. I have lived here for over a year, and they still have not been replaced. I wish things were better kept and repaired in this complex, because I do like living here.
Car got broken into. Maintenance still haven't fix the hole in the ceiling.
I love where I live and call home. It's very clean and peaceful.
There are many reasons I love life here at The Brooke Apartments, but here are a few. Every morning I wake up to the sound of a running stream and the birds chirping. The sun always shine es so bright through my windows. It feels like country living here, complete with natures glory. The office staff is so friendly and they treat you like family. I couldn't ask for a better place to let my boy's discover what nature has to offer and just to be plain boy's.
I love my apartment #:-)))!!!! Everything is new and renovated. Couldn't ask for more
