This place is in one of the safest and wealthiest suburbs of Chicago but don’t let that fool you. The customer service is subpar as is much of the apartment itself. Other than when you’re about to sign the lease, they take quite awhile to respond. The leasing office is only open two days a week. This is fine as long as they can respond to emails or phone calls quickly but they don’t. Every time I have tried to contact them, it would take a week or longer for them to respond. This was an especially troublesome when it was time to find another apartment and move out. The apartments I was moving to sent a request for rental verification by email to Hinsdale. The new place I was moving to never received that form so I was unable to move in to the new apartment because of their negligence. To me, I would consider this an emergency, but they clearly didn’t. Because instead of resolving this issue, they went on a three day holiday and ruined mine. I am now essentially homeless having to rely on staying at a hotel at my own expense. I also have to pay a daily rental for moving truck since my stuff is being held in said truck. On top of all that, I may have just lost the apartment. I was planning on moving to due to their negligence. But hey, location is everything, right

Calland, Thank you so much for the 5-star review, Calland! We sincerely appreciate it. Please let us know if there's anything you need, we're here to help! - Your Hinsdale Team
Great service My work order was handled immediately, and the problem was solved. The maintenance team does a great job.!
It is poor because the units are old, ill maintained, structurally flawed and the problems are constant. The cost to live there is not justified by the small space, lack of basic amenities like a dishwasher and washer and dryer and the foundation was not level. But most of all, constant clogging of the one bathtub and sinks eventually led to the bathtub up with sewage waste which took a full week to fully repair and the corporate management declined to even reduce rent for that month or the next one. Ants were constant, heat went out frequently in the cold months, the windows and walls are paper thin and drafty-letting in heat or icy cold weather as well as sounds from every direction. The slums of Hinsdale. Would not recommend.

The problems started happening almost immediately after property manager Melissa was promoted to a different property. First, the parking stickers for residents changed with EACH new property manager who came and went in three months each. So, by the fourth PM. Nobody knew who was a tenant and who was a visitor. Visitors were supposed to park beside and behind the buildings. While tenants parked in front. Cars and trucks you saw twice a month were parking in front all the time. Next, we lost hot water a total of 6 times mostly during the night from September through January. Then lost heat during the night twice in February. Both times we were told it was a boiler issue. But the boiler was never replaced just slap a bandaid on it. The windows in almost all of the apartment are close to original so they leak cold air in the winter horribly. You can watch your blinds move on cold windy nights. Lastly, the tenant above me gave my neighbor and myself cockroaches. Since we both were on the first floor they were coming down inside the walls. The property manager said they could not tell us where they were coming from as the tenant had rights. Yeah. So because I got the roaches, I guess I had no rights. But, a 5th grader could figure it out fast enough. Don't waste your time emailing the corporate office in California. They could care less too as they have your legal lease agreement and they do not return emails either. The property manager even went as far as promising my neighbor a one time $100 reduction on rent for the following month. Then never delivered. That's a very upstanding property manager. Don't you agree??
I was a tenant there for a year. I kept the apartment very well so I got a notice of full refund of the deposit immediately after I moved out. But it has been four months passed and I have not received the refund check. It is outrageous. I WANT MY MONEY BACK! I wrote several emails to the office, and the managers replied they would help and see what was going on. Then nothing happens. I am still waiting for the deposit refund check. I really hope that I will not have to contact a lawyer for this.
Poor management, worst BBB rating in the industry. Premium rent for the worst paper thin motel looking units. 6 managers in 4 years, 0 amenities, dog poop everywhere, the units are infested with silver fish and wild spiders. Updated units are painted over old moldy cabinets, carpet sits on the thinnest padding, actually had nails come through. Faulty old furnaces and ac units. Zero flexibility with management. No corporate number or contact. The worst place ever.
