Roughly thirty minutes southwest of Kansas City, all of the larger city’s attractions and amenities are very easily accessible for residents of Olathe apartments. The crime rate is considerably lower than both the state and national averages, and residents have access to several high-performing schools. Thirty city parks and two dozen neighborhood parks give residents ample space to spend time and play outside. Among the many public parks are Lake Olathe and Cedar Lake, popular destinations for boating, swimming, and just enjoying the scenery.

Property Ratings at The Homestead Apartment Homes
Lived there for 5-6 years was good at first no issues then the last 3 years is where it turned bad in 2019 had a resident pound on my door at the crack of dawn to alert me about letting my leashed dog out to go to the bathroom and how she didn't like “little yappy dogs” so thats a downside neighbors and or other residents cant mind their own business and in the spring/summer of 2020 we started to get brown recluse spiders in the apartment pest control was ok not very much help in eliminating the problem had glue traps everywhere possible behind beds, dressers, TV stands, couches, tables, etc even the open hallway we had to have traps they were EVERYWHERE probably wouldn't recommend to any arachnophobes out there beware
Even though rent here was considerably less than the 6 other complexes I have lived in over the past decade, the upkeep here is better than any of them. Maintenance cares and it shows. In my opinion the upkeep of an apartment makes are breaks whether or not you enjoy living somewhere. You can get over a floor plan that you don’t like quite as much as you thought you would, or a wall color that isn’t your favorite, but when you have an issue such as a leaky faucet, running toilet, or poorly functioning appliances that never get fully fixed or replaced when they should be, suddenly life gets a bit more difficult. I like the appearance of the complex and the Maple floor plan had a lot of little touches that added a lot of character to the unit. I will say the sliding glass door in our unit really let in the cold, but was pretty easy to winterize and happens a lot with those kinds of doors. We also really enjoyed the walking trails, the well kept grassy area behind our apartment, and the kids playground. Our neighbors were pretty awesome too. We moved Oct 2020 after living here 5 years to an apartment nearly $500 more a month than this one that was much bigger, but honestly miss this place.
I have lived here for 3 years and have been very happy here. I am in a wheelchair and the apartment layout works very well for me. There is a lot of green space. I love going to the playground when my niece comes to visit. The maintenance men are OUTSTANDING. I haven't had to call them very often, but when I do they come immediately. I highly recommend these apartments.
I’ve lived here for almost one year now, I love the updated apartment, the beautiful pools and the staff in the office always so kind and helpful. Maintenance here is quick and very respectful.I love this community!
i love my apartment, but it is a bit pricey for. it is really relaxing and I don't have any problems. never have I needed to go to the office for anything.
I have lived here almost two years now. The complex and apartments are well maintained. The office and grounds staff are friendly and helpful. They are very quick to respond to issues should they arise. Apartments are quiet. I rarely hear a neighbor. Plenty of parking. Nice pools. Great clubhouse. Good amenities. Very pet friendly
The Homestead apartment is pretty decent. The maintenance guys in blue shirts (there are many) cruise around in golf carts doing maintenancy-like things, but really I think they just like cruising around in golf carts. The apartment complex is quiet, I rarely hear the neighbors, except that the upstairs neighbor who like clockwork cuts something very dense, like carrots, like clockwork, breakfast, lunch and dinner. Clack...clack.clack.clack......clack.... I think it's because of a metal knife hitting a hard cutting board that the sound carries so well - otherwise, I wouldn't know I had neighbors. Oh yeah, the thermostat. I don't like our thermostat, and since it technically works they won't replace it. The thing activates appropriately, but it just runs far too long. Since the AC is like mega-powerful, it sometimes turns the apartment into a freezer. Sometimes I leave food out overnight and pack it for lunch in the morning, not a big deal.
