Property Ratings at The Hub at Baton Rouge
I’ve lived here for about 9 months and it feels like everything that could go wrong did. A couple months in mold broke through the ceiling and we discovered it had been growing in the utility closet. Maintenance came and spray painted over it without treating it. Every time we went to the office about it they pretended to care and told us they would send someone to fix it and never did. While they were renovating apartments around us roaches started coming in from cracks in the walls and you could smell raid coming from the nearby apartments. Then one day I wake up to hundreds of maggots all over my apartment. I called the office twice and emailed pictures and they didn’t do anything they just kept hanging up on me. There’s clear signs of water damage, mold, and bug infestations and they don’t care.

2 shooting since I’ve lived here. Apartments are trashed. I’ve seen needles in the parking lot. Very rough apartment complex.

Have you ever killed three roaches with a single swing of a fly swat? No? Well then this is the apartment complex for you! Oh, and those big beautiful pools in the pictures... Yeah, they're deep opaque green. Maintenance is outright rude as are most of the office staff. Seriously just don't
To begin with when I originally got here to move in I did not have any glass in my bedroom window, there were bugs and mosquitoes throughout the apartment. Not a single person told me that I did not have any glass in my window, but did let me know that I need to go ahead and pay the prorated rent, security deposit, and my first months rent so they didn’t have to “hound” me on the first of March. I was insulted that they thought I wouldn’t pay them on the first of the month but in hindsight I believe they did this to make sure I was stuck in this apartment. They also required me to sign my lease prior to viewing. I ended up paying them $1027.79, before even seeing the apartment. I had to go report the missing glass to the main office, the reception girl let us know no supervisors or property managers worked on weekends. She ended up having to call her supervisor regarding the fact I did not have any glass in my window. Whoever she spoke to extremely rude and said that the window was on back order so it would be two weeks before I could get one. The supervisor also did not have a plan for what to do regarding the fact I had no glass (no plans on a board, giving me a different apartment—nothing). I was told that maintenance was on their way, he didn’t show up until after I told them I was going to call the police or fire department to board up the window and get them to refund me. The next problem I had is that the apartment is extremely old /outdated has discolored baseboards and is dirty. I was promised a renovated apartment, however I see the only renovation that was done is a bad laminate job to the floor, like a previous review stated they show you a nice updated apartment in order to lock you in but the apartment you actually get does not have the same quality. The apartment itself has a host of maintenance issues my air condition currently doesn’t work, the sinks have heinous hard water stains and uneven paint jobs where you can tell the painter just painted over whatever dirt and grime was already in the sink instead of cleaning it and then painting, the faucets are missing knob caps and have disgusting grime build up on them and rust, the countertops are all chipped and crack to hell, the lights flicker due to poor maintenance, the light fixtures themselves have bugs in them from failure to maintain on the apartments end.

Thank you so much for sharing your excitement with us! It really means a lot. Please do not hesitate to let our office team know if you need anything else.
The apartment seemed ok at first but there is no pest control and it became infested with bugs--roaches and bed bugs or fleas--I have since found out it is all over the complex. There is no pest control--I was given"bug bombs". There is a lot of crime--a shooting, a murder. The door to my apartment was kicked open in the middle of the night and luckily the criminal ran when confronted. I would not say that the staff is rude--just not concerned. It is advertised as student housing but in reality there are very few students there and I would not recommmend this to any LSU student. Moved out a few days before the end of the month and after moving, the apartment was vandalized and the Hub sent me a bill for it.

the cheap rent is the i only upside to these apartments. i broke my foot here on their property because of their poorly designed “handicap ramps” which actually just a slab of concrete smacked on top another. it also sat about 2 inches off the ground and they would not email me back about the issue and then proceeded to paint the ramps yellow the next day. i’ve also had no air in my apartment for a WHOLE WEEK. yet they find excuse after excuse why they can’t come fix it. they “can’t get in touch” with the maintenance men. i asked for a window unit 3 days in a row just to use until they can fix my air and they won’t give me one. this apartment complex DOES NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR RESIDENTS AND IT SUCKS. a very small handful of people in the office are nice and actually help.

This apartment was awful. There is a roach infestation and a drain gnat problem! Apartment unit was also not ready when I moved in and had to be put out an extra 4 days. Not to mention how unprofessional the poor management is and the attitudes that they give. The cheap rent is not worth the hassle, definitely go elsewhere unless you like roaches crawling all over your kitchen.

This apartment was terrible. Holes in the walls, roach infestation, was not ready when I moved in. Had to threaten to sue so I could get out of my lease because they broke it before I even moved in. The cheap rent is not worth the hassle. Heed my warning and DONT DO IT!

Always, our goal is to provide superior service, a pleasing living environment, and competitive pricing to our residents. We wish we could have made you happy here and sincerely wish you all the best in your next home.
There’s so much I could say about the Hub. Some good, mostly bad. When I first moved here it was great: centrally located, cheap and quiet. However, in the past year that has definitely changed. There’s no scheduled pool hours so people have wild parties at the pool at all hours of the night. These wild parties resulted in a 10 year old child being killed July 2019. There response to the shooting: an email telling residents to be more vigilant. No increased security or enforced pool hours. Also, the staff changes every 6-8. Mostly college kids. I’m all for giving young people the opportunity to work but the staff is incredibly incompetent to say the least. As soon as my lease ends, I’m out of here. If you’re looking for a cheap place to stay and you’re not worried about your safety come join us at the Hub!

When I came to tour the property for the first time, the woman that gave me the tour could not answer half of the questions I had. The second time I came, which was a month later, there was a change in management. Someone else gave me a better tour and was able to provide me with more information. I decided to lease a room at this property because the first place I was initially going to sign with became full, so The Hub had the besr value at the time ($375 for furniture and everything except electricity). However, when I came to sign there was a third change in management (from what I was told). I was supposed to be waived for the application fee, but in the long run something did not go right and when I tried to talk to one of the people in the office (Morgan), he kept cutting me off instead of trying to help me understand where the extra charges came from. First off, I suggest that nobody do an individual lease or rent a room with random people. The roommates I had were not the cleanest people (there was food on the stove that been there for weeks fruit flies was a problem). When you walk in the hallway there would be water coming up from the floorboards. Part of the bathroom ceiling was leaking and eventually fell in. Maintenance never came to fix it until 2 days after it fell in. After it was "fixed" they came back to do the finishing touches but he said it was still leaking and before I moved out it was beginning to bubble up again. The bedroom furniture was nice, but the living room furniture (which I didn't get until a month later) had several scratches. I liked the size of the apartment, but the environment was sometimes a hassle. There was always trash and things like broken glass or flower pots on the walk way that were never picked up by maintenance. There were 3 robberies that I was informed of from fellow tenants, and there were people always arguing or fighting at night. I gave a review of 2 stars because the overall condition of the apartment was terrible and old.

This is a heads up to anyone interested in moving into this apartment....RUN!!!! This is by far the WORST apartment in the city. The management is VERY unprofessional, the staff have no knowledge of what they are doing or how to assist. In addition they do not take care of maintainace issues and they do not document anything. The worst part is there is no direct contact to the office without going through a third party (extremely inconvenient). Assuming someone will call you back is almost a joke. They are known for tampering with packages. Which is a federal offense, by the way...the only problem is there is nothing in the lease agreement warning you of this reckless behavior. They have noisy teens out blasting music all times of the night, the pool is never clean and they have several car break ins. I don't want to discourage you from moving somewhere that works for your price range but believe me there are places more quiet and affordable that are worthy of your business. This place is just worth getting a lawyer.
