With its false-front architecture and period lighting, Downtown La Crosse struts its Old West stuff, overflowing with antique stores, art galleries, boutiques, restaurants, and theaters. Downtown La Crosse is situated near two universities and a college: the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, Viterbo University, and Western Technical College. As a result, Downtown La Crosse has a fun side: it's walkable, bicycle-friendly, and offers events like the Friday night Farmer's Market at Cameron Park and a pub crawl on two wheels -- the Beer by Bike Brigade.
Whether it's relaxing by the river or exploring the downtown shops, Downtown La Crosse is a great place to live. Relax and listen to live music at the Bodega Brew Pub or attend the Between the Bluffs Beer, Wine, and Cheese Festival in April. Catch a performance at the Pump House Regional Arts Center or admire the outdoor art throughout downtown: Ribbon V, Family, Fledgling, A Simpler Time, and Harmony and Peace.

Property Ratings at The Hub on 6th
I left my apartment in darn near pristine condition yet was docked $55 because a few spots were missed. Unless you go over EVERY area with a white glove, be prepared to have a deduction from your deposit. The things I missed could have taken minutes to clean up. Legal way for them to squeeze more money out of every tenant.
While the building itself is very nice and amenities are decent, I agree with everything that has been said. When I signed a lease here, I was told no undergrad students would be allowed to live here as they wanted to make it more of a community for working professionals. Well that didn't happen. The building is noisy and not ideal for someone who wakes up early like myself. If you are a working professional or just enjoy a quiet space to live, look elsewhere!
Property Manager at The Hub on 6th, Responded To This Review
Although we can't control how people live and must also abide by the fair housing rules and regulations, we did resolve these noise issue with the tenants. We strive to serve our residents with respect and dignity, and are conscientious of the needs of everyone who lives in our community.
Stay far away from this property. The management company will sell you a lease on upscale amenities and community downtown, but it is a dorm 24/7 due to the amount of students which live in the building in a constant rotation on short-term leases. Look elsewhere.
