Property Ratings at The Hudson Student Living
Rats and Pest Infestation: Persistent rat and insect problems caused by unsealed holes and construction defects. Despite multiple complaints, management has failed to address the issue, forcing me to purchase traps and seal openings at my expense. Poor Insulation and Heating: Severe insulation issues allow cold air to enter, rendering the heating system ineffective during extreme temperatures. The thermostat fails to maintain 60°F even when set to 72°F, with external temperatures below -10°C (14°F). Temporary fixes, like plastic covers, were insufficient, and management refused to provide professional solutions. Ineffective Management Response: Requests for professional repairs or relocation were ignored or poorly handled. Maintenance requests were mysteriously removed from the system, but I retained email records. Management dismisses concerns while leaving tenants waiting indefinitely. Tenant-Borne Costs: I incurred extra expenses for additional heating equipment, rat traps, and door seals due to management’s negligence. Maintenance requests were closed without resolution. Unsanitary Environment: Littering by residents has worsened pest problems. Management failed to implement serious measures, such as increasing trash bins in parking areas. Unprepared Management Team: During move-in, I experienced disorganization, including false promises about unit availability and changes to the move-in date without proper notice. Security issues, such as lost packages, remain unresolved, and management often fails to follow up on tenant concerns. Faulty Fire Alarm: The fire alarm has triggered over seven times without emergencies, including three times in one night, disrupting residents' lives. Management offers apologies but no solutions. Mental and Physical Strain: Ongoing issues have disrupted sleep, studies, and overall well-being, causing significant stress and exhaustion.
