Property Ratings at The Inverness
I’ve lived here over 2 years. The first 2 years were great. Neighbors were friendly and complex was super quiet. It has gone completely downhill lately. They are letting loud obnoxious people move in. If you love the smell of weed, this is the place for you. Love incredibly aggressive dogs that make you fear for your safety? This is the place for you! Want a pool with holes all in the plaster and no efforts to fix it? This is the place for you! Want a management team that totally dismisses any concerns you have? Move on in!! It is not worth the money at all. There are terrible amenities compared to other properties in the area. Spend your hard earned money elsewhere!!! I cannot wait to move out of here.

It is with heavy hearts that we have left The Inverness, after four memorable years, for the "suburbs" in another city. I continue to believe that The Inverness is the best apartment community in Houston, and it is the consequence of several things that make it so. As an example, during almost two years of lockdown resulting from the pandemic, we did not have one single maintenance issue arise. The property is maintained so well, nothing seems to break down, everything works as it is supposed to, and if any concerns do arise or need attention, the staff is on it and---problem solved immediately. Much praise is due to Juan, Margot, Jose and Leo for their unfailing ability to keep everything running well; to be free to never question their expertise and knowledge is a luxury in and of itself---and that kind of confidence affords a comfort level little else can match, when the subject is the place you call home. Krysten, Luciano, and Alisia run the leasing office at The Inverness. Once again, in four years residing there, we did not have a single complaint or issue arise. I have e-mailed the leasing office for one reason or another during non-business hours, and then received an informative, proactive response before the office is even open the next morning. I've called when everyone else in Houston seems to be working from home, and found that my call gets answered/action is taken/my questions resolved by Krysten, Luciano or Alisia--- who are actually in the leasing office, working, there on-site for the purpose of assisting us, the residents. These administrative tasks are accomplished in a professional and effective way, absolutely, but what makes all the difference is that Krysten and her staff are supportive, warm, and basically the kind of people you'd be inclined to say are your friends, too---and they happen to be running The Inverness. No matter how much I may like the "suburbs," where I have moved to, I'll miss living at The Inverness, and I'll miss the wonderful people that make it the truly exceptional community that it is.
Just moved in the beginning of this month, I love it! The area is beautiful, well maintained and the staff is amazing. Cash and Morgan are so helpful and accommodating. They even helped me with my moving process. Small community but perfect location. My neighbors are even nice. I live on the 3rd floor with vaulted ceilings, stainless steel appliances, AND in unit washer and dryer. The bathrooms are ALL BIG no matter what floor plan you choose. I love it here. The best part is the school district and I am only 2 minutes from work. Thanks Cash and Morgan!

I agree with the other reviewer on the dogs. This is ridiculous!!!! They never stop. I come home from work at 5:45 am and go to sleep at 6:30 am. All I can do is catch 5 or 10 minutes off and on because of the endless barking until about 1 pm. Try doing that for a few days in a row. Never getting any deep sleep. The dog owners don't even stop their dogs from barking. They think it's so cute and the coolest thing in the world.

I recently moved in here and regret it. The dogs are unbelievably loud. Some other website had mentioned it but I thought people were just exaggerating Big mistake. Even bigger mistake was signing the lease now I'm stuck. To be fair I think the management is good, kinda fake-caring but that's ok we all see through it. In my other apartment the management always put a note on peoples doors whenever they heard even the smallest of barks to make sure that it would not be tolerated. People got the point and stopped leaving their dogs home alone or they locked them in a room or whatever.....it worked! Here you can't even walk around, the dogs go crazy, one almost attacked me recently at the mailbox. The the dog got within inches (dark brownish Lab) then she looked at me as if I had done something wrong. I've since then seen this same owner walk her dog around with no lease at all at night time, barking and screaming. No one has to live with this.

I lived in the Inverness for one year. When I went to sign my lease, I was almost tricked by the assistant manager into a 14-month lease instead of a 12-month despite discussing on the phone a 12 month. Thankfully, I read the fine print. I submitted a maintenance request upon moving in to deal with the lack of working A/C in my bedroom. They came and "fixed" it but it never worked so I slept on top of my bedding for a year. I lived mostly without issue until the summer when I got a threatening letter in July about how I hadn't paid for a remote control to the gate despite having discussed that I would pay it in my next month's rent. I received a very sassy and patronizing email from the assist. manager who tried to say they thought I meant June's rent despite me having already paid for that month. She also said I wasn't allowed to pay online and had to write them a check. When I explained I didn't have checks, she decided it was ok for me to pay online. In July, they deducted double my rent from my checking account leaving that account almost bankrupt. My bank charged $30 for a stop order. Though I requested several times from the mgmt that they pay this $30 for their mistake, I never got acknowledgment. August brought the roaches. I sent in a request BEFORE HARVEY to bring in the exterminator b/c there were several dirty roaches (the small ones that fly) that emerged from my kitchen. I have a housekeeper come once a week, so it's not for lack of cleanliness. It took until the middle of September for them to get an exterminator to come in and the assistant manager told me that no, I couldn't be on a regular list, despite me explaining that the roach problem was getting unbearable. I raised this with the main manager who attended to the problem, but the roaches kept on coming and they were growing in number and size. I had to stop using my kitchen b/c they would come out of my drain, Keurig, stove, etc. The exterminator came a few times but management forgot at least once, and then they started moving into the living area. I gave my notice and there was initially no negotiation to try to get me to stay until Greystar got involved b/c I gave roaches as a reason I was leaving. I thought about taking a deal, but ultimately declined when a roach crawled on me. P.S. they're now trying to get me to pay for pet stains on the carpet. Not sure the point of the $300 non-refundable pet fee if not for this? 2 stars b/c it was quiet and I had nice neighbors.
The best community I have lived in. Locations is great close to everything. Office staff is friendly and efficient.
This hidden gem of an apartment is tucked away in the middle of the inner loop. I have lived in Houston for years and never knew it was here because the street is lined with oak trees. If your looking for loud, out of contol pool parties, no parking, and poor management, don't come here. Aha, but if your looking for quiet, safe, small town feel you'll love this smaller property. The feel of the suburbs in the middle of Houstons most desirable restuarants, movies and shopping. This is all made possible as the management has NO turnover, and are truly concerned about you, your dog and your comfort.
I love living at this community. The Inverness is small community where you will be able to get to know your neighbors. The community is in a great location so close to everything, shopping, eating. I have lived in this community for over a year going on two. Grocery stores are less than a mile away and restaurants are a short drive away. Most of the good dining is off Kirby drive, which is like 2 minute drive. The office and maintenance staff are great and very caring. They will handle any issues you have. The community is upgraded nicely without having to break the bank. The people who live here are very nice and polite. This is not a party community which is exactly what I was looking for, my party days are behind me although you are close to Washington avenue, montrose and downtown if you where into that. Overall I would recommend this community to anyone who is looking for a quiet place to live in that is close to downtown, medical center, UH, RICE, Montrose and close to great eating!
The Inverness apartments are above and beyond the best apartments in Houston's inner loop. The staff are the kindest and most caring people ever...which is rare in apartment management. They know every tennant by name and genuinely care about each tennant. They also love pets! The grounds are well kept, the pool is perfect and most of all it is safe! I am so happy to call the Inverness my home.
