Huntington Place is a collection of subdivisions on either side of Vance Jackson Road. This neighborhood is located on the east side of I-10, about 10 miles northwest of Downtown San Antonio. Commuters taking I-10 can reach the city in less than 20 minutes, making it an attractive option for those seeking a quieter, more suburban lifestyle near the heart of San Antonio. For those who prefer car-free commutes, mass transit is also available.
While no shops or restaurants are available within the residential area, Huntington Place is close to a variety of shops just outside the neighborhood. Along Frontage Road to the northwest, residents will find several popular chain stores and restaurants, along with an H-E-B grocery store. Another shopping complex, Huebner Oaks Center, is located to the south of the neighborhood along Huebner Road. Gorrell Park, located just outside the neighborhood, provides a playground and hiking trail.

Property Ratings at The Jax
A lot before grey star took over, unorganized. It feels now as though Greystar is attempting to pick up the pieces left from the other company. Although the apartments are roach infested I don’t feel it’s right or fair to raise the price of the apartments. New staff is amazing Anisa, Diane and Marlow have been great. Now it’s up to the Owners to do their part to make it actually feel like home. Overall I am at a 6/10 due to staff and maintenance

Living at the Jax feels like a home should. Quiet and peaceful, easy access to main roads and feels secure. I've enjoyed living here for the past 2 years.

Hi, We are so happy to read such a great review about The Jax! Thank you for your recommendation. Hope you have an amazing day! The Jax
Since moving here in July of 2022 we have had roach issues, water damage to the dining area wall that took them 2 months to repair. We had holes in the wall where the vendors had to cut open to view the extent of the damage, that we had to cover with a tarp cause it was embarrassing bringing over friends and family to that. We have had our water heater short out and cause the entire townhouse to fill with smoke (luckily I had a bad feeling and came home). We have had our entire second floor flooded for more than an hour back in October due to a previous neighboring tenant breaking a pipe. Which caused the floor to lift and the garage roof to cave in. To which we were told consistently that they were waiting for the regional manager to approve the costly repairs. We still hadn’t heard anything back from the property manager about the repairs for the rest of the month in October come November and we are still getting the same spiel of we are waiting for approval and the vendors are so booked and that we would have to wait mind you the entire ceiling in the garage is exposed and the walls are now covered in mold. It took us having to call code enforcement to get anything done the same day code enforcement came out and looked at the apartment the inspector went to the front office to speak with the property manager next thing I know our apartment magically had a contract company here to work on it the same day. December comes and we get a property wide email that fire inspections will be done to check the sprinklers and fire extinguisher (tell me how this unit passed inspection when four of the fire sprinklers were covered with painters tape that they just removed yesterday) I informed the property manager that the work was not done properly to both the flooring and in the garage to which I was told that they are allowed by law to go up to four layers of flooring on top of each other and that the rest of it was cosmetic so we let it go. Then comes April and we noticed that in a few areas the flooring would sink down a little. They then called another flooring contractor that informed us that the entire subfloor needed to be redone due to the damage. Which brings me to yesterday the ceiling in our storage garage caved in once again with guess what another case of water damage thanks to the washer that belongs to them and that they reinstalled when the flooring was redone not having gaskets like it should have.
If you are thinking of moving here, DONT! Maintenance is slow, office staff doesnt care! AC issues, roach infestation, no refrigerator for a month! This place is quick to take your rent or late fee, but when it comes to fixing things they take their sweet time! Dont move here!

So i moves from the jax due to roaches, flooring, black mold, oven not working and so many other issues. I now have a bill sent to collections for almost $1000. The mainetnance staff only slaps a bandaid on the problem. Reading the reviews from other residents. Theres at least 10+ buildings with roach infestations out of 12. Gates alwasy broken. Entry gates always unsecure. The same lights have been inoperable for over 3 years. I lived there for 5 years and seen 10+ managers. Therr have been 5+ shootings and numerous drugs dealers on thebproperty which lead to the shootongs. Auto theft is out of control. Do not live here.

If you plan on living here change your plans! When I moved in, they hid a bunch of things that were wrong with the apartment, lied about which floor the apartment was on, and didn’t tell me the apartment wasn’t ready to move into after I had already signed the lease agreement and dodged my calls until the day before my move-in date, and was forced to move in a week after my move in date. I had to submit 3 separate move-in condition forms because they keep losing them. Went a week w/o a working fridge, just to have it replaced with an older one, and scuffed floors and a chipped door frame from the maintenance crew and the light inside the fridge doesn’t work. It’s been 60 days after I moved in and absolutely NONE of the issues I documented on my move-in form have been addressed. Roaches and ants are a huge problem here. So when you see Jax and think of moving here, think again and keep it moving! Not worth the headache or trouble. Oh yeah, and car theft is a huge problem here because they keep the gates open and leave the pedestrian entrances wide open all day and night. They’ve prioritized renovating the grounds and painting the building, but not making repairs that actually need to be made for residents safety and comfort. Management staff has to be the most lazy and apathetic staff I have ever had the misfortune of working with, they never answer the phone or respond to phone calls, or call back when they say they will. I hope that new gray and white paint they’re adding to the buildings adds more than just curb appeal, because living here is a nightmare. Also the walls are super thin! You can literally have a conversation with your neighbors on the other side of the wall.
The worst apartment I have ever lived in. Management can be a problem anywhere but they don't care about their residents AT ALL and are extremely rude about any issue you may have. Every time I've gone into the office there is a line of angry residents. The cops are at the apartments 24/7 due to constant car and apartment break ins (ours included). All entry gates have been broken for almost a year. The staged apartment doesn't look anything like what you will actually be living in. One of the biggest problems is the amount of dog poop on the property due to management not restocking doggie bags or actual trash can bags. Also ROACHES ROACHES ROACHES! I wish I had listened to the bad reviews I read when I was first looking for apartments because they 100% true.

If this is your first apartment then it won’t be so bad. My boyfriend and I moved in August 2020 and not even a month, the office new my phone number by me calling so many times. Our mail box, with others, was stolen around September. We JUST got our replacement mailbox door in early May. Was always told “...it’s because of COVID” yet I saw other residents get their replacement mailbox doors. The dog park has a broken gate and large dogs can easily fit under the side gates. They recently put mulch...yay. In the winter our heater stopped warming, called like five separate times when the heater blew cold air. They know the problem and kept fixing it and told us that it will just keep breaking. Well gee, maybe we should fix it ourselves. The flooring is cheap, you can easily lift the pieces, you can hear your upstairs neighbors, light feet or not. Just remember the model is always going to look the best. We’re not sure if we’re renewing rent, the price went up $100. And yet the pool has been closed since last year and they’re remodeling it right now, and we now have package lockers, oh and a phone app to open our gates.
We moved in Oct 2020, 2 weeks in & we knew the office staff by name because of the horrible upstairs neighbors! The staff nor manager did nothing to resolve our issue, even after numerous calls, meetings, and emails. Neighbors were allowed to have unlimited visitors & pets. They could sweep/fling their pet's mess into our patio. 'Quiet time' as indicated in our lease has never been enforced. Maintenance is quick to come assess any issue just never returns to complete any projects! Weekly pest control? What a joke! I've been on that list since October! Beautiful apartments just horribly managed!
This place has bad customer services. The lady that works there is now not working their anymore. She told my mum that she was approved to have a three bed room and we move in on the 24th. Now before the 24th. They call my mum and told her she was not approved. They tell you things at the last minute. Then they tell you one thing and turn around, they tell u something else. My insurance company pulled a lot of strings to get approval for rental insurance. My insurance company didn’t want to approve it because they have a high rates of thefts on the property. Don’t waste your time and money. They don’t care, they just want money. Just money hungry.
I’ve lived here for 3 years and ever since this new management company has taken over everything has gone to crap! They don’t deserve a rating of above 2 stars. This is my first time EVER writing a review but I finally decided this was the best way to warn others not to live here. People who enjoy living here probably don’t have to worry about a single repair being done in their unit but unfortunately for me, getting anything done is like pulling teeth wants waiting at least a month for it be completed.
DO NOT RENT HERE! I’ve been here for 7 years now. 5 of them they cannot get the AC ISSUE together! Property is becoming a dump, they only have 2 people on the maintenance crew, and they want to tell you that it’s perfectly normal for your apartment to be 90 degrees in Texas heat.... why is it not like that in other apartments or homes? Perfect if you don’t mind sweating it out during the summer.
Dont be fooled! You will see from the reviews tenants who have issues are conistent across the board with the things they are saying. Sadly, the responses from "managment" are also consistent in that they pretend they arent aware of issues or want to speak to you by calling them. Funny thing abt that is they dont answer the phone! LOL! MANAGEMENT could care less about the issues you bring to attention! They act like they do just to make you go away BUT, You will actually have to call them constantly about any follow up yourself! Very unprofessional on their part. Highlights here, Trash overflowing all the time, trashy neighbors allowed to have their dogs relive themselves on their patios causing the halls to smell of urine or to bark all hours of day and night not allowing you any peace and quieting your own unit! Roaches, vermin, crime, broken mailboxes forcing you to go to the post office for everything just to name a few. For the amount they charge here dont water your time!! The service and property are terrible to say the least!! STAY AWAY!
This is a real honest review from a current tenant and business owner myself. First let me start off by saying I've lived here since Sept 2018, the move in process was fast and easy. Beatrice was my leasing agent, she was very knowledgeable.professional and personable when it came to leasing, Even know when i go in for something, Beatrice is there. she knows me, and makes me feel like family. if she is not there, Esteban helps me, Jeralyn or the property manager Vanessa! Who is a godsend these days. I really feel like she is trying to get this complex into better shape and make sure everyone is happy. Also the office staff is not nosey and they are'nt up in your business. As long as you pay your rent and are a good tenant they leave you alone. When i moved in i got a good move in special and the price for the sqft is amazing. Even tho the building is a little older. The renovations help bring it up to the current decade. The maintenance here is amazing, and they get jobs done fast. Even in the middle of the night if there is an emergency, they will come take care of you. I recently downgraded from a 2 bed 2 bath into a one bedroom, and i love my one bedroom so much. Cant even tell that im missing a bedroom cause its so big and cozy. Overall im happy here and will most likely Renew my lease again for a 3rd time. So Ask for Beatrice if you want to lease. if shes not available Esteban can help you. Along with both Managers who are super cool!

This place used to be nice when I moved in. The old office staff used to care about their tenants. I used to be able to have an issue and get it solved at least within a week. It's been over two months for one issue and over nine months for another and for months for another, I feel like a broken record. If I was late on my rent I would get that note saying I'm late by day three. It's amazing they can come to my house for that but not to fix things. I've never been late. They used to make sure everyone got their packages by the 23 for Christmas they would deliver them, but now they wasn't even open and they was supposed to be we checked like once an hour. This place is a disgrace to this area. The new people are mean as well and don't know how to talk to people. I used to tell people I like it here now I don't.

RUN AWAY from this place!!!! Managers and all office staff DO NOT CARE! They don't help at all when other tenants disturb the peace of the good tenants. Office staff lies nothing gets done. Don't believe replies from manager here they are false. There are drug dealers, police are here answering disturbances. Robberies, loud parties, shootings. Trash everywhere. Only good ones are maintenance, who have just about all quit. All office needs to be replaced.

I've had so many issues in the past months with previous management however Jax seemed to have cleaned house and are doing their best to reverse the mess that was left behind. The apartments are actually quite cute but I'm more impressed with the changed in how things are run and their attitude toward their tenants. That makes a world of difference.

I have been living in the jax apartment for a year now they have renovated the apartment because of the management change after that the apartment has become still worse. Indirectly they have been charging for the utilities and many more the increase in the rent. today s words will be not be true the next day. if we ask they are saying to move out the manger lady. They way they treat after moving in is really worse and never turn up for any maintenance request that easily. So this not the option.
