Property Ratings at The Jefferson, an Eagle Rock Community
This management is horrible. Without notifying they shutdown the water while getting shower in the bathroom. Mice, Cockroaches Making more vulnerable to stay here. Trash is everywhere. Water leaking from bathroom. Maintenance people took 3 months to fix it. Keep raising rents and utilities bills had no meter readings. It doesn’t matter you are using or not, they just send estimated bills which is more higher than I supposed to pay. Office people are not doing good service. Other apartments people playing music louder. If had any option for no star I would do that. Paying high rent but living in hell.
I could go on for hours how this place sucks but here are a few points 1. Heater didnt work. Imagine being in the cold for almost 6 weeks without a heater 2. Gym is destroyed. Despite this, they asked for a $500 amenity fee during my renewal. what a joke 3. Cockroaches everywhere 4. mandatory emptying of apartments every 6 months for pest control. mandatory or $500 fine. pest control doesnt even work. still cockroaches everywhere 5. Trash collection never comes and if you dont put your trash can back, $250 fine 6. Package delivery is hit or miss. The residents of this apartment dont empty their lockers so there are rarely free lockers for your packages. Packages have to go to your door or the front office and can sometimes get stolen. 7. The elevator system sucks. They have 3 elevators but only 1 is functional apparently. during peak evening times, you could be waiting for 15 minutes for the elevator.
I was optimistic when I moved in, but this place has worn me down so much. Between endemic cockroaches and mice, frequent water outages, failure to turn on the heat when legally required, and common areas that are treated as literal dumps, this is by far the worst place I've ever lived. Do yourself a favor and don't even bother thinking about this place.
This is an absolute trash rather than calling it a building!!! Very poor and unhealthy environment to live in. -Trash everywhere, bad smell in all hallways and inside the units. -Stinky stairs and the walls’ paint is falling all over in the common areas. - Broken Elevators at least 2-3 times in addition to the elevators being so dirty, bad smell like we re still living in the sixties of last century. - water often shutdown as eg. the building had a sever water shutdown since Thursday 06/08/23 until Saturday 06/10/23. None is able to use the toilet for 3 days .so we all had to go to nearby stores, restaurant etc to use their restrooms!!! Yet No solutions provided by the management or corporate office except neglecting our voices and complaints. They are always famous for closing the office when an issue occurs. - Parking is becoming a serious matter due to an ongoing issues with car security as recently many cars have had a damage, wheels stolen etc . - GYM is out of sync. Broken old machines and materials. It is just irritating to deceive people by providing fake information about having facilities… what a total trash!!! - The New Valet living doorstep is the worst trash service I ve ever seen so far. First of all, the building’s hallways look like a place for dumping Trash bags. Imaging that the trash is left in the hallways from 6 pm till 11:30 pm (time the process of collecting finishes).. how the hallways and the building smell will look and smell like…… see pics. - To the management and corporate office , thank you for efforts in making this building the worst building to live in!!!! We are in 2023 !!! Wake up!!! - I will be moving out of this building ASAP and I hope you won’t be asking for any contract breaking fees cause I’m willing to take it further!!! - To everyone thinking to move in to this building…. Just think 1000 times before making your decision to live here cause you will simply regret it!!!!! JUST FIND OTHER PLACE!!!
If there is 0 star or less I would not hasetate . The trash smells every where. The mice and cockroach every where. I have no dishwasher for 3 weeks and they told me to waite 2 months. It's the night mare for any one who wants to move in. All in all it's very expensive.
Quite and surrounded by trees. We spent our beautiful two years in this lovely apartment with friendly and kind people. I do recommend for families with children to chose this apartment as it is safe and has a beautiful playground. It has swimming pool and a soccer field where children enjoy to spend their time. In winter children slide down the hills in the garden and make several snowmen. Very close to big shopping centres and a shuttle takes you to the metro. Management is always there when you need help. Schools around are very strong. A place worth of good memories!
I moved here in 2019 and was only able to get an efficiency on the ground level. The apartment hallways and trash removal get a little noisy sometimes, but for the most part its a decent building. Haider has been an incredible asset to the management at Jefferson Apartments. He will always go the extra mile to make sure you are safe and living well. Ishmael is also a good manager. Both Haider and Ishmael are very polite and understanding. I elected to stay another term because of the location and fantastic management team. Maintenance is also very good and most of the time they fix any issues that are urgent. There is a security person on duty 24 hours and the apartment complex is safe. I would definitely recommend this apartment as a good place to live.
Love the apartment building....have been living in this building for 5+ years. It wasn't this great earlier till Haider became the property manager and now it is night and day. The maintenance response time is faster, building is cleaner and amazing location. Also like to share Nicole the asst property manager has been a great addition to the leasing team. If you are looking for a good place in the area, look no further and speak to Nicole & Haider they are amazing people will take care of you.
I been living in this building for 6 years I like this place close to everything shopping stores metro falls Church downtown Arlington downtown and DC The management are very nice and helpful a lot of improvements I can see this year I really recommend this place

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're so glad you love the location and found that our staff is meeting your expectation. Best, Sarah
My husband and I want to take a minute to say how impressed we are with the property management provided by Haider five stars for his competency and effectiveness always helpful and smiling to residents I noticed a lot of changes The building clean smells better than before they celebrate every occasion which is New to me and the Zumba class for ladies all these programs are new in this building so we appreciate your hard work and your patience Haider you are The right Man in the right place.
I am living in this apartment building from last couple of years because of religious reason as one of the mosque in the area is just few steps away. One of the worst management i have ever seen. Every time i stop by the management office i find new people there and have to explain the problems in the apartment building again (that they never solve). Will not discuss air and water loss here that lot of people mentioned in their reviews, check them out. One very important problem because of which i am forced to move is Bedbugs in the whole building. And the treatment company comes every week to treat apartments who report it and the management charges the residents for the treatment (surprising). My apartment was treated because i reported bedbugs in my apartment that was due to the "Triple S Pest Management" treated an apartment next to my apartment and next day i found a bedbug in my apartment next to the entrance. The management didn't take it serious and i have to report a complaint and the company did a treatment but found bedbugs next day of treatment and also have to pay for the treatment (that didn't remove the bedbugs from my apartment at all). My recommendations is don't move to this mess, please check the reviews first. Thanks.

Dear Resident: I am so sorry about the negative experience you are having. I came on board The Jefferson on October 24th and it is my intention to improve the resident experience here by leaps and bounds. I hope you are able to make it to our holiday party tomorrow evening at 6pm. Hopefully we can meet and talk about other issues you are experiencing. Please do not hesitate to contact me at your convenience to discuss this or any issue. Best regards, Tony Greenberg agreenberg@capinvestad.com 703-534-8020.
Roaches everywhere. Roaches everywhere. Roaches everywhere. Parking arrangements are a nightmare. Trash all over the place and worst of all is the fact that it smells like death on my floor. Also, whoever they just hired as manager is a completely intolerable jerk. She literally yells at tenants and their kids. No, I'm serious... She raises her voice at the people who are the reason she's employed in the first place. I was once charged a late fee by mistake and within the first five minutes of meeting her, for the first time, I heard the words lawyers and court... Seriously? You just replaced a person who just replaced another random person. You are not the owner nor do I think the owners of this place had any of these issues as their vision. As soon as my lease is up, I'm moving. And they can keep their finders fee for referring a friend. I had a couple of friends with pets looking and since I'm seeing more and more dogs around, I thought this might be a good place... Except I remembered these are friends and I don't hate them so why in the heck would I tell them to come deal with a miserable manager and a smelly, roach infested building? PS... I would feel a bit guilty having written this review without mentioning the two guys that work in the office. I believe one even doubles as security after hours. In any case, these guys are stand up guys in a building with absolutely no other redeeming qualities.

The Jefferson apartments in Falls Church is a study in contradictions. On the one hand, the building is ideally located in a bustling part of Falls Church adjacent to the traffic-choked Seven Corners intersection. Shopping and dining options abound, and getting around in a car is manageable, if you can handle the constant traffic jams. Adding to its great location, The Jefferson offers complimentary shuttle service to the nearby East Falls Church metro station, as well as on weekends for shopping. A bus stop is right outside the building. In short, accessibility and mobility is a great plus at The Jefferson. On the other hand, the building's management seems unable (or unwilling) to fully capitalize on its potential. Keep in mind this is an old building dating back decades ago--and it often feels like one. The elevators feel like they have not been updated in ages (they move incredibly slowly between the 6 stories), and the hallways are slightly under-lit and give off an old-building vibe with the outdated (and often dirty) green carpet and light-green walls. With the old management of The Jefferson, service was excellent: a simply maintenance request online or by phone would immediately be addressed. Communication with tenants was also great. With the recent purchase of the building by new owners, things appear to be headed nowhere but south. The elevators stopped working properly for several days, water has been on-and-off for over a week, with absolutely no communication from management regarding what the problem is or when to expect repairs, and even the handicap-access button on the front door of the building was non-functional for about a week. Maybe the new owners are simply still getting their act together, but tenants' patience is running thin. Nonetheless, aside from recent maintenance issues with the building and the new owners, The Jefferson is a great community in an ideal location for commuters. The building is incredibly diverse and most tenants are friendly. The rent is reasonable given the availability of washers and dryers in unit, and square footage is generous in most units. My apartment is located on the top floor and faces the parking lot, which provides ample sunlight throughout the day. The units on the backside of the building tend to be darker and exposed to much less sunlight. The building feels safe, and parking is ample. In sum, this apartment has much to commend, but management needs to start paying better attention.

We have had more days without water and air conditioning this month than with. Usually no warning of water shutting off. There is never parking available at night despite having parking permits. Very few English speaking residents and they all have many loud, unruly children. Pool is only open a few hours a day and closed on Mondays. The smell of cigarettes comes through our vents despite the building being smoke free. Building security is a joke. Many other residents have roach/mice/rat problems, but we have been lucky with that so far. Neighborhood is very sketchy and Seven Corners is a traffic disaster. Getting out of the parking lot to go left if nearly impossible with traffic.

Basically here's what you get with the Jefferson: Pros: Reasonable rent for the location Walkable and close to public transit (bus stop outside leads to Metro stations, Old Town, all around) Good floor plans Cons: We just got a new rental company who bought The Jefferson. I'm nervous about how this will impact current residents as that they didn't go out of their way to be super great to start. (Not as friendly as they could be) If you're looking for ritzy this isn't it, but if you're looking for good, quality and reasonable living close to DC, this is it.

I've lived at The Jefferson for over a year now, and it's not too bad. I love being in a sunny apartment on the highest floor, having the maintenance guys fix things for us, and having many other residents from a similar background as my own. I can't complain for the most part, but recently there have been issues with the water, elevators, and air conditioning, ever since our building was sold from Berkshire Communities to Capital Investment Advisors, LLC. Hopefully these issues are resolved soon and things settle down again, because I enjoy this place very much!

This is a great building if you want a lot of space for a little rent. The units are larger than most in this area and it is very affordable. The common areas are well maintained and the new management team is very friendly and helpful. This building was built in the 1960's and looks/feels that way. The main benefit of this is the thick walls (you won't hear your neighbors unless they want you to). They have begun renovating apartments to upgrade the appliances/floors, but renovations have not been completed in every apartment. It has a pool, fitness center, playground, and free wifi in the lobby. I have been in this building for two years and I will definitely renew again.

The community is great the people are nice. However, since the property was purchased property management has been non existent. Getting in touch with someone takes forever, and when you do there is an air of nonchalance and disregard. Maybe things will get better once the management team has settled.
