Property Ratings at The Joliet at Lowry
It's been okay. Maintenance is always slow to respond esp when it comes to emergency things but management has always been friendly and helpful
This transition has been weird. Some great improvements to roads, but we don't have knobs on doors and have toilet things that never got resolved.
I'd like to start out by saying I love my unit, it's a pretty updated apartment with a loft and a lot of space. However, I have been here a little over 2 weeks (but paying rent for a month) and nothing has gone well since I signed my lease. I say I've been paying rent for longer than I've lived in the apartment because when I went to move in, neither of my two showers drained and my dishwasher held standing water and was not working correctly. The day I received keys, I checked/noted everything in the apartment and told the front desk agent that it was unlivable as neither showers was usable. I was told that this constituted a maintenance emergency, and that emergencies would be taken care of right away. The request was made in person on 11/3, and then I put in an online request 11/4. I then waited until 11/11 to make another request as no one came to fix anything. I went to the front office and talked to MARIA who said "well, you can use this as a learning experience. You should never take the keys to an apartment until you know everything works". So I guess what the Joliet at Lowry is saying is, make sure you run the showers and hang out for a few hours before you sign your lease to make sure the dishwasher works and drains and your laundry works. I was pretty offended that the manager of this place blamed me for their lack of timeliness in attending to what THEY told ME was considered an emergency. So, I paid rent for 2 weeks both at Lowry and at my old place due to not being able to fully move in, and was told there was nothing they could do about it, sorry! MARIA was very unprofessional and rude and I'm honestly amazed that she has made it to the position that she is currently in. Good for you, I guess, Maria. I have had my lease for a month and still do not have mailbox keys. This was brought up to MARIA in person the day I went to ask why it had been 10 days and my showers and dishwasher still had not been fixed. She said maintenance would take care of the keys. They did not, so I went to the office on 11/22 to ask that they take care of it again and they still have not. It is now 12/2 and I still cannot access my mailbox. I would not recommend living here unless you are your own maintenance person or you have low standards of living.

It has been all good however I don’t recommend a resident who lives on the first floor to put their stuff in the patio. As soon as I moved in I put my bicycle in the patio but after three days in the apartment my bike was stolen.

I have been in this apartment a few months so far and I have liked it. There have been a few minor things which I think can be improved. Like adding some security cameras to the property and not allowing residents to put so much trash outside their apartments (the squirrels dig through the bags and make ugly messes).

For the most part, I have liked living in this community the last four years. The staff seems to be nice and want to help but they do not return phone calls when you leave messages. The maintenance staff takes forever to come and fix things . With the new improvements happening, I do however believe things will get better !

Since the complex has switched owners there have been multiple improvements which is wonderful. There are still ways to improve - like getting maintenance requests answered before 2 months has passed, or updating our gym and cleaning it. Overall the staff is very friendly and receptive to requests and comments and living here is overall a pleasant experience!

Our review is very negative and would be helpful to the property. Putting it out there would only cause problems. This is an unsafe place and the management is disrespectful toward Senior citizens.

I moved in 3 weeks ago. So far: 1) I STILL do not have hot water for more than 2 minutes 2) There's some kind of pest infestation and I have bites all up and down both of my legs 3) My car was towed ($300) when I parked in what is apparently a handicap spot, but who would know with no vertical sign and all the paint fading, if you're parking when it's dark out 4) The office staff is So. Expletive. Rude. Every time I need something, I'm clearly inconveniencing them, making things up, and I get attitude every single time. I have NEVER been treated so horribly in any apartment complex I've ever lived. 5) Car was broken into I hate it here and I'm stuck for another 14 months. Please save yourself. Live anywhere else. I wish I'd heeded these reviews.
!!!!ZEROOOOOO STARS!!! NEGATIVE STARS! EXTREMELY 1000% DISSATISFIED. RUN, DON'T WALK! WARNING!! DON'T MOVE HERE UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE HOMELESS!! GO LIVE ELSEWHERE!! KEEP SCROLLING ON APARTMENT.COM, THIS ISN’T IT! Let me start by saying that when I visited this office, it seemed to be an amazing place to visit and live. applying, I was approved. During this whole process, I realized they were horrible at answering phone calls and emails. I had set up all my utilities and everything else in order to move in. I had called multiple times to confirm the date of move-in and was guaranteed "everything would be ready when I arrived". I even received a welcome home email confirming my move-in date and apartment. Coming from another state with 4 family members to help me move, and within 1 hour before my arrival, I receive a phone call stating my apartment wasn't ready and it wouldn't be ready until 2 weeks from the original set date. I had asked if the apartment unit could be ready sooner and Amairini, the front lady receptionist, said " you signed the lease on your end and the manager hasn't signed the lease on our end. We can always move your move-in date to another date". She mentioned, "we can maybe have it ready by Tuesday (2 days from my arrival)". I had asked if they could accommodate me into an available apartment, and she said there was no available apartment and said, "giving me a bigger apartment didn't compare cost-wise". She did not attempt to contact the manager and said the manager was busy and was out of reach. Amairini told me to come back on Monday when the office opens at 10 am to speak to the manager. I arrived at the office at 10.10 am, and the office was closed. After waiting an hour for them to open, I decided to knock on the door and a different front lady answered and let me inside. when I spoke to the manager, she pulled up all my information and found all my documents were signed and everything was set. She later found out that they had booked 2 people for the same apartment. At this point, I was furious and decided to leave. I DECIDED NOT TO LIVE AT ADVENIR AT DEL ARTE. Overall, my experience by far was the worst and I am here trying to save anyone from future problems. I was emotionally distraught and financially battered after this moving experience. By far the worst unprofessional, untrustworthy apartment complex that has committed fraud. DO NOT TRUST THEM!!
This is only the second review I've ever written in my life. I moved in here because it was the cheapest option, so I genuinely wasn't expecting much. I tend to fix my own problems, so when I read complaints about the management, I figured it didn't really apply to me because I'd never need to talk to them. Unfortunately, my washer broke down less than a month after I moved in and that's one of the few things I won't mess with beyond basic troubleshooting, so I put in a maintenance request through the portal. I didn't hear from anyone for a couple of weeks, so I called the office and got transferred to an answering service. They told me they'd send a note and I should get a call back the same day. I know that's never how it goes, so I waited another week before calling the office again. And again I got transferred to the answering service. They said the same thing, that they'd send a note. I waited a couple of days and decided to take some time off from work to go to the office, (I work 8a-8p six days a week, so I'm never around when they're open.) I spoke with someone in the office and she said she'd make sure someone came by that day. Again, I understand that you can't always get something done the same day, so I waited a few more days before taking some more time off work to go to the office. I spoke to the same woman who promised the same thing. No one showed up again. At this point, I just figured I was going to have to live without a washer, so I kind of gave up. A month later, they didn't take my rent out of my account, even though I have auto pay set up. I didn't notice until I got a pretty nasty note on my door saying I had ten days to pay before I was evicted. The app and the website both say they don't accept Visa or Discover anymore, so I called the office every day for a week and never got a hold of anyone, just the answering service. They've sent in five or six notes saying that I needed to speak to someone urgently, but I still haven't heard from anyone. I finally was able to take a day off today to go to the office, but apparently they closed without telling anyone. So I have to take another day off to try again tomorrow and hope they're there so I don't get evicted. At this point they've cost me hundreds of dollars in missed work because they didn't take my rent out of my account. Sorry to unload, but I hope this helps someone avoid a similar situation.
My car got broken into and everything was stolen from my car. Made 2 calls to the office in regards to the break-in. Never got a call back. Maintenance guys are pretty cool. My washer/dryer broke and it took them a few days to get everything in order, but I did end up receiving a brand new one. You do always see them around on the golf cart so I am assuming that they do get their stuff done. My toilet got clogged real bad, to the point where my auger wouldnt unclog it, and I've yet to hear back from them. This was a few months ago, and I've yet to get a call about it. Of course it unclogged itself, but no follow up or anything. Imagine if the toilet was still clogged. During the winter, they turn off the water pretty regularly with no warning. Imagine waking up for work to the water not working. Then, having to call to figure out what is going on. Went a few whole weekends with no water. I pay my water bills on time. Absolutely ridiculous. The valet trash service is literal trash. They do nothing but give you fines for no reason. If you have more than 2 bags out at a time, that's an automatic 50$ fine. Expect to pay more than 100$ a month on just trash services. The parking situation is misleading. When we first moved in, there was no limits on how many cars you can have in a car park. A month ago, they made it to where its only 1 car per leaseholder and you need to register your vehicle on a website. If you have more than one car or the car is unregistered with the virtual parking pass then you get towed. No if's and's or but's. Towed at your expense. I inherited my grandmothers car after she passed from COVID and I had no place to put it out of fear for having to pay 300+ for towing. Walls are paper thin. There's regular domestic fights in the neighborhood. Had to call the cops a few times because of all the yelling. A working gate was advertised on the website, however, that has been out of order for as long as I've lived here. To be fair, I did see some workers doing something to it a few months back but I've not seen them again. The gate remains broken. Not the managements fault, but pretty regularly I have people knock on my door and try to open my door. Also for whatever reason, the water pressure in my unit is messed up. They said that fault was on the Aurora Water Company. Something about new regulations. Just odd because all the faucets in the bathroom work fine. I could go on and on but there is a character limit. Dont move here.
They have a raccoon problem every time I go to the office they come up with another excuse as to why they haven't done anything yet. It took a MONTH to get a lightbulb changed. I have never received a call from the office to give me an update on anything.
I really don't feel safe living here. There is domestic violence happening left and right. People that are "wanted" by the police have been approved to live here? Fights breaking out in the open. People yelling at hours in the night. The apartment has not been updated in who knows how long. Maintenance is always late. Sometimes we want to fix stuff ourselves instead, which is not our responsibility.
I have posted my review on yelp, Facebook, google and I will report this to the better business bureau. In short, mold and mushrooms ruined our closet and all of our shoes. The water heater flooded upstairs and collapsed the ceiling which ruined more stuff. There bathroom had mold and the tub always had to be resurfaced. It was so bad that I would find paint chips in my daughters bath water. Then finally I got charged fees for things that I should not have been billed for. I’m summary be homeless before moving here. It’s probably safer that way.
I lived here for a year, and for almost the entire time the gates were broken. There are 3 gates, one on the north end that was always broken. The main gate is sometimes constantly wide open and then the south gate would not open. The apartment never did anything about this when complained about. Also, the gym was always a mess and most of the equipment was broken. Maintenance requests took over 3 weeks, and sometimes were never addressed. A lot of these would have been okay, if the apartment would have address any of this. But they completely failed to do so. This place is always a mess with trash flying around. Worst of all they take any advantage to tack on extra fees. They could care less about their residents.
Arrived on Move-in day (a date they had insisted on) only to be told they have no move ins scheduled for that day. This was the first sign of things to come. When we finally were given keys it was very obvious the apartment was not ready for move in (doors not mounted properly, carpet not tacked down, paint issues, tub needed resurfaced, etc.) so we gave management a list of things that needed to be fixed and were assured that they would be addressed in a timely manner. What a bold faced lie that was, took them 1 month to even comeback to address anything, 2 months until the carpet was addressed. The first month of summer our AC quit working, took 5 weeks to get any sort of AC to the apartment in the middle of summer! Then winter comes and our heater stops working so we went the first 3 weeks of winter without heat! This place looks like it used to be a nice place to live, however now it’s just a sad unkept complex that has decaying building a “gate” that was demolished months ago that still hasn’t been addressed and. Management team that is either incompetent or are not given the tools or budget to make a change. DO NOT MOVE IN HERE! You’ve been warned.
I've lived with raccoons or squirrels in my attic for 9 months. The complex's contacted pest control company refuses to try and trap them. Maintenance refuses to fix the hole. They won't let me out of the lease because the animals aren't "inside" the apartment. I often can't sleep because if all the animal noise. They poop and fight on the balcony. The complex administration keeps giving excuses as to why the problem still exists but never does anything.
So far we've been here for an entire month. At first we had a balcony railing that could have you fall to your death and 4 days without a working stove. It was apparent that the apartment was not move-in ready. We notified them and nothing was done for days. Maintenance said they are understaffed. Our walk through sheet included 9 additional items that should have been fixed nearly immediately. NONE OF THEM HAVE AND IT'S BEEN A MONTH. They don't answer phone calls. They bury your reviews online. They simply don't care. We can't do our dishes as the garbage disposal/sink has sounded awful - SINCE MOVE IN - and it will no longer drain. The sink is starting to smell. Previous times when I went into the office they treated me like these issues were my fault, and that I never reported them. One time an office member, the manager of the complex, AND a maintenance guy were all inside near the kitchen area of the leasing office with ZERO other guests in the leasing office. I had called them literally 1 minute earlier and nobody answered, so I walked down. They NEVER answer their phones. We've had this phone issue since we first thought we should move in here. At least 20 unanswered calls during their office hours to date. Several voicemails not answered. DO NOT MOVE IN HERE (9-13-2017)
The Apts themselves are presentable, but the company is trash. I stayed here for 14 mths and they're are always new associates in the office due to major turnover in the leasing office. There is major problem with getting packages delivered when UPS, Fedex or USPS delivers a package to the leasing office. I work from home and Iost two clients because of packaging issues where I was told no package was delivered. Once I got so irate I stormed in the office to retrieve a package of me sitting in the face of a manager. Her excuse was that she was looking for 16-104 instead of the address. What?!? I once had my car towed off the property after coming home too late and parking my car in a tow zone. I wasn't aware of the tow zone because it wasn't painted red to indicate a fire lane. It did have a sign that I missed due to it being dark. I did this when I stayed a previous apartment and the apartment gave me a courtesy call letting me know I was in a tow zone, but not Advenir. Even though it was a honest mistake and I was I tenant in their building that they are aware of the lack of parking spots, the towed my car which I had to pay almost $400 to retrieve and almost cost me another client. When my Apt lease was close to end, thank God, I notice in the renewal form they sent me that they a require 60 day notice if you were not renewing to move out. I read this about 52 days from my lease. I knew better, but I went to talk to the leasing office about just splitting ways and calling it quits so I don't have spend an extra 8 days in a place I clearly don't want to be. At first the agent told me I would have to stay until July, which would be well over 60 days. After several failed math lessons of counting to 60, someone who paid attention in elementary math said we would have to charge you for an extra 8 days. Which I wasn't thrilled about, but I haven't been thrilled since I've been here.
I love the super high ceilings in my loft. Also love how unique these buildings are- apparently they were originally built to be condos! Awesome amenities, and a great location. Love it!
I have lived here for almost two years and had very few complaints until Advenir took over management. I know that transition is difficult, but this rises beyond teething problems and into the realm of "We don't actually care about our residents!" My roomate and I have had several maintenance issues that have been unresolved for over two months. Here is one that has only been a problem for a week or so, but which is more egregious due to the attitude shown by the property management company: New street lights have been installed. They are pointing - not helpfully at the ground below, but rather - directly into my second floor bedroom window. The bedroom light can be off and the blinds that came with the unit can be fully closed ... and it is still bright enough to read without effort. It's like they installed a permanent light in my bedroom that I can't turn off. When my roommate and I asked them to fix the issue, we were told they would look into it. We were calm and patient, believing the light was installed that way by mistake and trusting that the property management would correct the problem. One week later, we had to go back and ask about the status (because they never got back in touch with us like they said they would). Their response? In so many words, "Haha, too bad." When we expressed our surprise and disappointment, they basically said, "Curtains are cheaper than moving." CURTAINS ARE CHEAPER THAN MOVING. Oh my gosh. They literally and explicitly admit to just relaxing and not addressing resident concerns because WE CAN'T GET AWAY, at least until our lease is up. Our rent went up 30%, no exaggeration, from last year (2014) to this year (2015). So far it seems that my larger rent checks are funding: unnecessary cosmetic changes, unnecessary and actively problematic changes, reduced security (our gates stand fully wide open at all hours), reduced cleanliness, fewer amenities, and reduced service in general. The property LOOKS nice from the outside, but be sure to check out your unit after hours to make sure you don't have a floodlight shining across where your pillow will go. And if you want a responsive, responsible property management company ... Well, it's probably best to look elsewhere.
this complex is very nice and has a comfortable feel to it. It has a functional gate and and fenced in so it feels much more exclusive and safe compared to others in the area. The office staff is friendly and the buildings are clean and have been renovated. the only complaint i have is the lack of parking at times and the gym could have a little more to be desired. other then that the place is great.
The apartments have great layouts with the open floor plan. High cellings, lofts, balcany, fire place it feels more like a town home then an apartment. They are pet friendly they have a dog park and pet spa. And all the perks of living in an apartment Pool, hot tub, fitness center that offers free classes to residents, and a buisness center. There is also valet trash service where you put your trash out at night and they pick it up nightly. This is especially nice since it eliminates dumpsters so people cant just dump furniture and make the outside look trashy.
hey are very clean both inside and out. They have valet trash services so there arent any dumpsters where people can just dump furniture. If something needs fixed or replaced the maintnace if very quick to respond. There very animal friendly, they offer both a dog park and pet spa. There is a pool monitor that looks over the pool in the evenings and on weekends to alllow adults to have and enjoyable relaxing swim and see to it that the pool area stays loooking nice. They have several different floor plans ours has a loft I love the sunlight it lets in. All the ceilings are high and all apartments come with a washer dryer and fireplace

Awesome place to live! Pool, weight room, fence around premises! Feels like a resort.
