Property Ratings at The Joshua
This place has great amenities with a pool/spa/sauna on the roof. I've been a long time tenant here and have liked the location and the rent used to be reasonable. Now they increased my rent $800! Yes that's right no mistake here! When you ask for things to be fixed they are not done properly and done in the cheapest way possible. Decron Properties owns and manages this. They don't care about there employees and underpay them for the amount of work they do. The new changes have not been worth such an increase in rent. I had a mold problem on the ceiling due to water leaking from above. When they came into fix it two weeks later all they did was paint over it. The mold was still there and we were dangerously living with it. I asked again to fix it and they finally did a half way job to fix. I moved into a newly renovated apartment and still to this day several outlets do not work despite asking them to fix and they just said an electrician has to fix it. No electrician was scheduled. The gym equipment is cheap and breaks down because of it all time. Don't use the spa because you will get a rash and will itch for several hours after. They don't reinvest into the place as much as they should. All they care about is making money off you. The employees even have a high turnover duee to there bossesover working them and underpaying. Managem. They haven't had a manager living on site for 6-7 months! ent has been great if we could keep one here. I think if Decrom Properties cared enough this place would be gret. It's just gone down hill the past year especially
I moved here three months ago and it has been an enjoyable experience. Keith, the manager has been great in dealing with some small misunderstandings. The rooms are newly renovated and appliances are in great condition. The maintenance and public area housekeeping is very friendly. The pool area is empty on weekdays and other tenants I've seen at the pool are generally friendly. The building is all ages. Washing machines are convenient and hardly ever full... they require a credit card, so no more looking for quarters.
I'm a long time resident, the building is the best on the block by far..... Beautifully painted exterior, massive rooftop patio with pool and hottub accompanied byviews of Los angeles downtown skyline. The building is kept relatively clean and there's spacious parking lots a upper and lower garage. The grounds are professionally managed by well meaning staff and maintenance crew. As long time resident I've seen many changes over the years apartments regularly upgraded every 5 years or so. There are a lot of apartments, so there is a bit of this revolving door of ppl moving in and out on frequent basis. I've had at times celebrity neighbors and few established entertainment industry people over the years. Also over the years I've seen other apartments renovated and upgraded but ours with very little change over the course or almost 20 years not even a fresh coat of paint. The entire exterior of the building gets a face lifted but out floor plan as no repairs scheduled and requests fall of deaf ears. A reasonable thing would be to move but because the economy and my son being special needs we have to remain in the school district to receive the service he needs so we sacrifice and it is a minor thing really. For a while the rent was right for our budget... Until the rent increases began to roll in one after the other and our list of repairs are met with bandaid solutions. it is in all intents and purposes a four-star apartment building but to their long time tenants we are told renovations are only for vacated apartments. A policy that ignores their most loyal of customers who have had never a late payment in almost 2 decades. The events that happened recently is what motivated this review was but another rent increase nearly $200, I had to pushback in doing this I had a discussion were I discovered that they wanted us to pay $100 more month for a apartment I'm disrepair than they were giving new tenants for fully renovated apartments. Infuriated and frustrated but still without alternative options I signed a new lease. If you are a new tenant you will be treated like a king or queen but if you have demonstrated long time loyalty you will be put off indefinitely or pacified with a Band-Aid solution to your legitimate complaints. Four star building with a one star heart
