Less than 20 miles east of Phoenix, the city of Mesa is Arizona’s third-largest city and is home to nearly half a million residents. The low cost of living, affordable apartments, and family-friendly environment make Mesa a highly sought-after suburb in Arizona’s suburban desert. Although Mesa sits within a short distance of Phoenix – making it the ideal location for commuters – many residents work inside the city of Mesa itself for local employers in the medical, aerospace, and retail industries.
Mesa locals take advantage of the city’s constant sunshine, whether they’re catching a Cactus League ball game at Hohokam Stadium or tubing down the Salt River. The surrounding desert landscape is extremely popular with mountain bikers, hikers, and campers. The scenery is truly unbeatable, especially in the sprawling Tonto National Forest to the northeast.
This town is rather quiet, with a focus on community and local history, rather than a bustling nightlife scene.

Hey - what a lovely thing to say! We appreciate you so much.
Quiet place to live but maintenance and leasing office are extremely hard to reach and get things resolved in a timely manner.

this is not a family friendly community, the pools are always closed down, a lot of gang activity, the managment will not reurn any emails or acknowledge any problems you may have in the community, they always tell us they dont have a maintenance staff so they will get to us a.s.a.p. Just overall terrible place to live

This property is pet friendly, kid friendly, it's well maintained and generally quiet. It's far enough from the freeway, but not too far away. It's close to many amenities, including downtown, which I like. Not to mention the office staff cannot be beat.

Thank you for sharing your experience and for recognizing the our team.
A 40 year old building formerly used as low income housing now has a rushed facelift to hide the aging structure. You need to constantly check emails from them because they love to change up different policies- parking was taken over by a 3rd company when I asked the office if they can see if I’ve signed up properly told me to contact 3rd party because they don’t monitor their own lots. And now you have to pay additionally for a single parking spot assigned to your own apartment only one registered car can park in as well as paying for visitor parking. They changed payment portal several times, newest is now a 3rd party app that constantly advertises their credit card. They closed down their shared laundry room because they installed washers and dryers in units however when they break down (because they’re low quality) it has taken over a week to get someone to make any repairs. Well they never made repairs and then closed my tickets, which led to an email from them that asked me to take a survey and review the apartment. They do not have package receiving or large package mailboxes so in their lease you must use a 3rd party delivery program that they’ve selected and are charged for. This program adds time to your delivery (maybe a day or 2) and they don’t always deliver to the correct address (they’ve credited me for missing packages). If you get your packages delivered to your front step it will be stolen. Front gates have probably worked correctly simultaneously a total of 1 month (being generous), otherwise gates are always open.

I was skeptical about this place after reading the reviews, the fact is that each experience is different! When I toured Alicia welcomed us to the Julia and the other two ladies walked out and made us feel like it was home already. Thank you ladies for making my decision easy.

You're our priority! We're happy our team members went Beyond Expectations for you here at The Julia Apartments. Thanks again for recommending The Julia Apartments! Hope you have an amazing day.
I would tell people to live elsewhere. The front of the complex is always clean and presentable. The rest is neglected. Maintenance request take approximately 2 1/2 months to complete. No communication from the office about it. Just sit and wait.

I am extremely frustrated by our continued maintenance issues and still having bugs after Months of complaints. And now it is trying to charge me to register my car that I already registered with the apartment when we moved in. This is ridiculous.

Property is well kept, but the gates never works, it's not in a good area. Huge pest issues. Out dated appliances and ALWAYS issues with parking. Been here 3yrs. Apartment size is good for the price.

The Julia apartment is decent if you have no experience getting an apartment, but within my 3 years living here and multiple changes to management, it shocks me how there is no improvement, trash is everywhere, dumpster pile up is gross, some apartments have bed bug and roaches for months, and it took over a year and a half to fix and electrical issue. I can understand multiple apartments having issues and it’s scheduled with only so many people but I have always had to reach out repeatedly. To be completely honest I would not recommend the Julia apartments. For what you are paying in rent here you can get a nice 2-3 bedroom house.

Let me start off by saying that my family and I have lived here for about 3 years and management has changed 3 times already. The individuals at the office seem to not really care about doing their job. For example, if you call with questions and they say they'll contact you back with the information you need, don't expect a call back of any kind. They are constantly having "plumbing issues" therefore they frequently drop off notices saying the water will be turned off for x amount of time (last notice indicated a window of 7 hours) for the WHOLE community. When they don't turn off the water like they said due to "rescheduling" they also don't let you know. Not to mention the the dumpsters are always so full and overflowing that sometimes there's literally no where to put your garbage. I had referred my younger brother to live here the first year I lived here and he also had numerous issued even though his apartment qas "upgraded". Stay away seriously!

Besides the police, stray animals, overflowing trash bins, fighting neighbors, etc.. The WORST part? Management sucks. Every few months there’s a new company taking over. The office never answers the phones and there’s always random signs in the middle of the day saying “closed, be back soon”. The online portal to pay rent is always down, and it’s almost impossible to catch them inside the office to pay rent. Do they want my money or not???
Trash and cats everywhere. Apartment is old with broken cabinets painted brown and look swelled from water, horribly painted showers epoxy over counter tops with pieces falling off and many more issues. For the price we were ripped off. Spa is broken. Trash everywhere and dumpsters over filled constantly.
Don't expect any of the office or maintenance staff to care about you (unless you didn't pay your rent). Fighting neoghbors, trash is out of control and we do get police visits often. If you live by the office you will have nice landscaping and clean grounds. Front pool has been renovated with new furniture, greenery and bbq's. Back pool got furniture and there is one dinsour bbq. They keep saying they are making changes...

The people here make this place a bad place to live.. The supervisor has a bad attitude. Very bad customer service. The upstairs tenants are horrible. Making loud noises walking screaming jumping until early morning. Walls are paper thin. You need to run very far away from here.

Off leash dogs, feral cats, animal poop everywhere- your car will smell like cat pee. Domestic violence in the Apartments, regular violence in the parking lots. Roaches. Overflowing dumpsters. Gates stay wide open during daylight hours, at night people wait outside for you to leave to sneak in... was approached on property by a child with a flyer saying that her sister and friend had been abducted from this complex. Thankful my lease is almost over, won’t be renewing.
Property Manager at The Julia, Responded To This Review
Thanks for reaching out. The Julia is now under new management and is undergoing many changes to give our residents a new and improved living experience. We ask that you be patient with us during this time. Renovations, upgrades, and improved policies may take longer due to the fact the property is occupied with tenants.
The leasing office changed Management on Halloween 2019. The office had sent out a flyer to all of the apartment units notifying us of the changes in management. Since then, there have been no other Communications from the leasing office about any changes going on to this apartments. Without warning or notification, the office hours had changed. We received one notification that the buildings were going to be repainted, and that this was going to be throughout one weekend. However, the painting project seems to have been going on since the beginning of November. On 12/23, I left work early to visit the leasing office and pick up some packages that I were delivered to the leasing office. Because of the new office hours, I needed to leave work early to get to the office in time before closing so that I could get the gifts that I had ordered for Christmas. Upon arriving to the office, come to find out they are closed. There was no sign indicating that they would be closed early or for the entire day. There was a sign stating that the offices would be closed on Tuesday and Wednesday, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. However other than the flyer taped to the door at the main leasing office, there was no notification that the office hours had changed, that the offices would be closed for three days, and that if we needed to reach the leasing office there would be no way of communicating with them other than leaving a voicemail for them to get to after the office is reopened. The lack of communication and common decency from this new management has been appalling and frustrating and overall not good. I was hoping that with the changes we would be more in the loop about what is going on with the place that we live in. However, this is not the case. I am now incredibly frustrated with the management style of the new leasing company. I will say that every time i visited the leasing office in person, the people there were friendly.
If you love psycho neighbors, never feeling safe, being on a first name basis with the cops cause they are there that often, paper thin walls, smelling weed 24/7, kids running around screaming at all hours, seeing drug deals take place, people informing you of a kidnapping that took place in your building that turned out to be a prank, and over priced units- then by all means sign yourself up for this place right away. If you did not catch my sarcasm, GET AS FAR AWAY FROM THIS AREA AS POSSIBLE- at least 10 min north south east or west of here. This is a horrible sketchy area and not safe or family friendly whatsoever. I had to call the cops on my neighbors multiple times from domestic violence and death threats. A major police event occurring at least once a month sometimes more involving 10+ cop cars blocking all entrances. I will forever be traumatized when one morning I walked out with my 2 year old son to go to church and opened the door to 5 police guns pointed at me being shielded by a cop vehicle. I turned the corner to 10 more cops all decked out in gear and huge guns. It ended up being a illegitimate tip but STILL! My son has a disability and could have run out there and been shot. The police did not care about informing us about the situation beforehand and did not report the incident to the apartment complex afterwards. RUN AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. Paying more $ in a safer area is 1000% worth it!!!
Going to this place was the most horrible apartment experience I have ever seen. At first the sales process went smooth and easy up until the point of lease signing. After the lease signing the office demeanor changed. They became very unfriendly, and they first tried to give us a covered parking spot that was NOT covered. After complaining about it and making them uncomfortable they FINALLY fixed it. The first day getting into the apartment there were ROACHES in the place. I had to kill at least 1-2 a day the whole short time I was there. During the sales process we had concerns about our pets, and asked them if we could customize our patio to protect our pets. We were told we could as long as it looked good. I built a really nice enclosed patio, and later that day we got notice to take it down. Liars! When I tried to use the dishwasher, it was lying in pieces with a burnt wash arm. When i tried to wash my clothes in the washer I ended up ruining some clothes....the reason? They did not hook up the washer right. They swapped the hot and cold water lines. The vent line on the dryer was not hooked up properly. Every night I lived there there was either a car horn alarm going off constantly, or people threatening to kill each other. The top of the apartments are not sound proofed at all. Everyday there would be loud stomping above us. When I went to the gym to try to use it my FOB did not work, they did not even bother to program it, and I had to get it fixed. The first evening when I tried to get home, I found out my gate remotes were not working, and they were not even programmed either. When I tried to use the phone number system to let myself in, I found out they did not even put in my phone number right. The mail key I was given was wrong. The final month I was there their online rent payment system did not take my payment, and I did not find out about it until the middle of the month when I got a 5 day move out notice with all of these fees attached. At least there was one person that was good enough to see the error and correct it, but the level of incompetence here is INSANE! If you are considering this complex RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!
the property is not what they show here people on the 2nd and third floor use their balconies as storage it looks junky the pool in the back side of the complex is locked up most of the past 3 summers--there are a lot of cats and dogs running around so you can always step in dog dodo at any given time--the place just looks dumpy when you look at it up close--they advertise as a LUXURY APTS i guess LUXURY has a new definition nowadays
Are the greatest receptionist they help me out every time I go in the office and I only been here 3 weeks look up listen to me I really like the people that work in the office Bianca and Aaliyah they are the greatest
This complex is terrible. Maintenance is constantly in and out of my unit every time I turn around doing foolishness like cleaning my fireplace that I've never used. Currently, they want me to move out my washer, dryer, refrigerator and move everything from underneath bathroom sinks in a weeks notice so they can put in new appliance and update. That is amazing in all except the fact that I'm a single mother on a budget so I can't move these thing out without help and once I move them out where should I store them..? My lease is literally up in on April 20th (in two months) and Oh! how I can not wait to move. Be careful going to dump your trash bc bums dumpster dive at night. Mesa PD is always in the complex. Staff is ok but they don't do anything after you sign your lease.. but its super irritating that you want to come update my bathroom water/lighting fixtures etc when my toilet has been running for literally 10 MONTHS!!! COME FIX THAT btw they have so called been in my unit 3/4 time to fix it with no avail soo i just gave up but now my master bedroom has a wired smell so i sleep in the living room where I can hear heard of neighbors next door. Apartments are old so the walls are just thin but i can actually hear my neighbors snoring at night. I think at least 7 adults moved in with a baby so there is never a moments peace. I work third shift midnight to 8 am and construction crew comes from 8a-5p Monday through Friday.. there is no consideration, care or concern by management for their residents and when you don't comply they threaten to evict you but sadly they never do.. Sincerely, I can't wait to move from this trashy complex. Do your research.. Come if yo must but if you have options I'm sure you will be much happier going else where in the long run.
I've been living here since NOVEMBER 2014,and I have no problems with the management,or any of the staff. Work orders i put in gets done in a timely manner..Quite Neighbors.Love living here. Just hate the LOUD PEOPLE AT THE POOL.I give 5 stars. Thanks Off Broadway.
The new staff is rude!!!! And have no knowledge of anything they shut down there office on the 3rd when rent is due tried to make me pay the late fee till I had a fit then still sent me a 5day notice in my mail box and had ups deliver me one!!!! After knowing my account was at a zero balance!!! Never had any problems with old staff this new staff is horrible and needs to leave!!! I use to love living here until they came!!!!
Had Bed Bugs and roaches and the exterminators were rude and testy. Management does not issue repair orders in a timely fashion. Management is rude to residents. Repairs can be submitted but take up to two months to fix problems. Upper management will no longer answer phones to correct the problem.
I've lived here almost a year and one whole side of the complex has got bed bugs and cockroaches. seemed like a great place but they don't give you a renovated apartment like they say they will. best part was the move in process. the rest has been a joke.
The homeless often wander the grounds and find their way into vacant apartments. Maintenance requests take several days to be processed. They allow dogs, that was nice. Unfortunately none of the dropping are ever picked up. If you are ever in need of the Mesa PD, have no fear, they are constantly in and out of this property. The best thing I can say about this property is that it does provide shelter.
Apartment found using apartments.com from former home in Ohio. Love the area. Love the complex. Love the size of the apartment and the rent. Totally disappointed in the way the kitchen and bathroom cabinets are to the way they were shown online. Broken chipped doors and drawers. And the floors in both rooms look slapped together by amateurs. Signed a 1 or lease and I am hoping they will update them before my year is up. Otherwise I will be using your website again. Thanks so much. I don't think I would have done as well without your website.
Off Broadway apartments are actually pretty nice considering the apartments themselves. But when you factor in the delays for maintenance tickets, the lack of a community feel for the neighborhood, and the poorly maintained park and amenities. The rent is pretty fair for 2 bed 2 baths in the area but the tenant is responsible for water/sewer/trash which can range from 60-120 dollars which seems a bit excessive.
I love this place very convenient to everything. I love the staff, this is amazing for my grandson as well thank you ao much.
Its so peaceful and the staff is fabulous love it here
My roommate and I lived here for two years and the overall look of the complex is very nice, they take good care of their landscaping, their maintenance is pretty good and timely, and the upkeep of the buildings is average for the age of the complex. The office staff is changed a bit since we moved here but the Assistant Manager has always been very nice and helpful. Overall, a decent place to live.
