Property Ratings at The Kelston
Leasing office is very hard to reach through phone/email, you have to just show up to get help. My apartment was changed last minute so the one i viewed wasnt what i got. The apartment was filthy, several inches of dust in ac and painted over, trash in garbage disposal, holes in flooring, internet connections painted over and couldn't connect my wifi, parking lot was/still is filled with mud, there's a centipede/bug problem, bathroom handle wouldn't lock, the bathroom sink and ac was leaking, and so many more problems. I tried calling multiple times to the office and the emergency maintenance line and could get no one. Finally found how to put in requests online and all were marked completed yet either not done or were half way done. The bathroom door handle was replaced but fell off in my hand when I got home. Trash was left in the garbage disposal too and nothing else was done. I spoke to the manager and she got the flooring replaced and all of those issues fixed but maintenance shouldn't have lied about completing it. Later, I found out I didn't have the key for the storage room and was locked out, the light pull chain was also missing. Put both things in for maintenance and next day was marked done but was still locked and told they were waiting on parts. How would they even know what part for the light is needed since it was locked? Door remained locked for weeks and I kept being told someone would come out a certain day but that never happened. Finally they unlocked it but still haven't been given a key and light is still messed up. There is a trash problem with trash piled up high at the dumpster and large items like appliances all around. Some of this is from tenants but a large majority is maintenance. Tenants aren't pulling out dishwashers, stoves, etc and leaving them laying. Valet trash is required where you put your trash outside your door and someone picks it up so it's not the tenants leaving a mountain of trash laying in front of the compactor, that's maintenance. It's been a month now and the bins at the dog waste stations are overflowing, I know they aren't emptying them because the mail I threw away when I first moved in is still sitting on top. I only gave 2 stars because when my ac went out they did fix it the next day. It seems like management is trying but they're blaming tenants when maintenance is not doing their job and lying about completing things. The pool is nice but they show a gym on the site and it hasn't even been started.
The roach infestation is really bad. No matter how clean of a person you are they will always appear. Pest control? There is no such thing. You’ll be paying for an imaginary service. Apartments are old and outdated. Very little natural lighting. Unattractive curb appeal and no security. Property management is basically on rotation. The “clubhouse/pool” haven’t been worked on in a year with no expected finish time. Mailboxes are completely run down and half are broken and cannot be used. DO NOT MOVE HERE! My biggest mistake was signing the lease.
Please do not be fooled by the description & the pictures. We do not have a clubhouse, a fitness center, or a pool. The current leasing office is in an apartment after the old one burned down. The on-site maintenance people are very lazy, they ride around all day on their golf carts instead of repairing things. A few months ago our AC went out in the dead heat of the summer & it took them 3 days to fix it!! I had a baby in the apartment & he could’ve had a HEAT STROKE! Did they care? No, it was over 100 degrees in the apartment. As of recently, our heat went out at the worse time possible when the temperatures dipped below freezing. No one answered the phone in the leasing office & I showed up & no one answered the door. It’s been two days now with no heat & I had to come out of pocket to buy a space heater that only heats one part of the apartment. Long story short, this apartment complex does not care about anybody but themselves so please don’t make the same mistake I did by signing the lease!
I went as a potential future resident to try and tour the place. Could not find the leasing office. The buildings have been neglected with grime on them, broken framework, and small narrow roads.
I’ve been living here for three years, the property has declined since it has had three different property management companies within a year. The people in the office have no idea how to run the place. My rent has been applied to different peoples accounts and now I’m being double charged. I pay for pest control but they won’t send anyone to spray my apartment there is an infestation of roaches. I have fogged bombed and sprayed myself and keep my apartment cleaned and I still can’t go a day without seeing a roach. I’m really trying to move as soon as possible
They are very poor in taking care of their property and it is very crime ridden. No maintenance ever!

Since moving in this community has been TERRIBLE!! When I moved in there has been many things wrong that I have requested to be fixed since August & it is now DECEMBER! It is extremely hard to get in contact with the leasing office by phone. The community is too expensive to live in for the conditions to be how they are! I am extremely dissatisfied & I WILL NOT be renewing my lease nor would I suggest ANYBODY to move into this horrid nightmare of a community! Upon moving in the floors were lifting, drawers broken in the bathroom & so much more. I am disappointed that I have to live here.

Filth all over the exterior , exterior needs power washed , interior looks like what it probably looked like when they built the property back in the day . Things are broken and neglected . Leasing office are indifferent. I’ve actually never seen anything like it . I am not sure what kind of maintenance people they have on the staff . My child can fix things better than this . It’s impossible that there’s an actual maintenance person performing these duties around the property .
These slums are raggedy, old & need to be torn down in rebuilt. The people they have running apartment are very unprofessional & couldn't care less about your issues. They have changed the name to The Kelston 3rd name change. Management changes every couple of months. Maintenance is the worst your better off hiring outsiders. I just a leak in my living room that eventually grew mold & had to withhold rent & call Code department to get it somewhat fixed. Tried to take me to court & never came to my apt to even see the damage so of course it was dismissed. My tub is cracked for the 4th time & still not fixed but somehow my request are closed. My toliet has not worked in months & my hot water is Luke warm on a good day & done after one shower. If you move here after doing your research you deserve the misery of living in the over priced slums.
ONE OF THE WORST PLACES I HAVE EVER STAYED IN MY LIFE! DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT MOVE HERE!!!!!!THERE IS A REASON THEY HAVE SO MANY APARTMENTS AVB!!!! THE UP KEEPING OF THE OUTSIDE IS THE WORST SO OF COURSE YOUR APARTMENT WILL NEVER GET ANY WORK DONE! YOU CAN CALL THEM FOR A WEEK AND THEY WILL NEVER COME FIX ANY PROBLEMS YOU MAY HAVE REVIEW ON OTHER SITES FOR ALL DETAILS
Stanford Reserve is a quiet apartment complex, very low key and tucked away. I like living here because its very remote very close to all the things i need. As a parent it was very important to me that i live in a safe place and it isn't a lot of craziness going on. It's located near great schools and great people. The leasing office people are very nice and any time i have a maintenance issue they are always prompt and get the job done right no matter what time it is. I would highly recommend living here, it's been great for me and my family thus far.
I just moved here in July, I loved that it is a one level apt. After I got unpacked I love my new apt it's spacious which is what us ladies look for.The best thing about these apts the area is quiet, security is always out scanning the area. We have valet trash which is awesome. I don't have to smell stinky trash or hear loud music. It's close to uptown and all the shopping area's it feels a lot like home should be.
Nice quality place love the atmosphere and the people are very friendly love it over here just looking for more space
Within the past year, I have seen a vast amount of different backgrounds of people moving into the complex and have not heard of any complaints. The children play together as though they already knew each other and sometimes I see parents outside playing with the kids as well. Everyone is respectful and there are less stereotypical instances occurring as there was before when the whole complex was a majority of one background. Its so refreshing to witness harmony at the pool, in the workout room and just on the grounds of the property.
The apartment is fair but not good enough for what the rent is asked. The appliances are very old and the will not be replaced, the sockets in the walls are all loose, the water pressure is very low, there are no lights in the rooms, the A/C is low and the counters need to be replaced.
The unit and the complex is average and basically mirrors most of the apartment complexes within the city and area. I just renewed my lease for another year as the location is ideal for my work and other activities, being somewhat centrally located in the area most frequently visited.
