Property Ratings at The Kenmore
The property has a terrible roach infestation that needs to be addressed. Roaches are all in the trash room and hallway, and unfortunately, they have made their way to my apartment after 12 years of not having any. I cannot even cook without worrying about roaches dropping from the ceiling and the kitchen light into my food. Also, the cleanliness of the halls has tremendously deteriorated. Dogs constantly urinate in the hall and the rugs never get cleaned. It's still a quiet, comfortable place for the most part, but this roach problem needs to be fixed.
The move in process at The Kenmore was very successful because James who works at the apartments as a Leasing agent was extremely helpful. I love my new apartment and the staff are top notch! Helpful, calm, friendly. My dog sadly was attacked in the parking lot by a Pitbull mix dog that was tied up to a lamp post in the Kenmore apartment parking lot unattended and got loose. I am very wary of taking my dog out back into the parking lot and dog area now and I wanted to get a parking spot but scared. My dog is my service dog so just want to ensure we are safe.

Was there for 2 years and truly enjoyed the Kenmore! It was my personal sanctuary when I came home from work. Was always greeted by the extremely sweet Sandra & Robin everyday I seen them & the realty staff are awesome and always welcoming/greeting when I come home from a long day of work and help tremendously in my moving process. Really enjoyed myself and recommend the Kenmore.

Units are nice & spacious. I have never seen a mouse ever & no bugs. Only a few spiders which is normal anywhere. Rent went up within 1 year of me living here. I wanted to downsize from a 2bd to 1bd but, rent for the 1bd has went up about $300 which is ridiculous! I will be leaving in April. I had a roommate break the lease which management hasn’t been so helpful in directing half the rent/bill to that tenant. They did nothing to enforce her to pay her part & I don’t like that because, i’m not the one who left the lease. I’m taking her to court so no worries there but, the balance has been stressful trying to get DC to pay part of my rent.m due to the inconvenience. Management isn’t exactly rude but, definitely not the friendliest or the most helpful. They lie about the availability of parking spots. The younger you look the less they take you serious. Maintenance took over a month to replace my floor due to the dishwasher leaking. It’s a good place to live overall. If I could do it over I would move in with NO roommate & be assisted by women because the men seem arrogant & not willing to accommodate.

I lived there for only a year. My roommate and I had constant issues with management. They NEVER check their email - or maybe they choose to ignore our emails. We also had multiple and constant problems with our unit (e.g. A/C, heat, plumbing). We were often ignored by maintenance when putting in requests.

For all reasons this Building was set to be an Excellent place to live. Outstanding neighbourhood, transportation at the door, I take the bus to work or right to metro and we are in an area that’s quiet. So the new management has changed the whole life living at the Kenmore. As a resident since 2011 we have been they so many managers and still only an “acting” one. The residents have been thru the mill with so many issues bed bugs, rats and that includes dangerous ones, As in when many units were without heat the office gave out portable heaters and while we were in some of the lowest temperatures and bad weather the surge took out the power! For HOURS. No elevator and several residents are on oxygen. We have been in construction mode for years first the new convectors then they had issues and leaked and currently another engineering company is going unit by unit to redo them again. The amenities that are offered are coffee, cool water with citrus and WiFi in the lobby. That’s it! We had a wonderful place to cook-out. Gone! We had a deck to relax on. Gone! We had park benches to rest on. Gone! Recently we had plenty of storage for our Bicycles. Mine included. Well after a notice went out 12 days ago to update your PROPERTY they were removed and trashed in the large dumpster for the renovations. Even scooters and mopeds. Shocking! If you go to complain you are told well we can let you out of your lease! My advice go to a friendlier and better environment to live. And that would be NOT A BOZZUTO PROPERTY. GOOD LUCK!

the apartments at the Kenmore are nice and the staff is helpful and prompt. The 800 sq ft apartment is really spacious for the price. Hardwood floors are in all units but it's preferable to have an updated kitchen with newer cabinets and appliances. The non updated units have metal cabinets. I've had zero issues with the apartment or staff. The only downside is that there are no amenities aside from 24 hr desk service & complimentary coffee in the lobby. If you don't' need extras, this is a good plce to live.
Love my new location!!! Everything is within walking distance from my building. The staff are very friendly and extremely helpful. The upgrades that have been done over the past two years have completely changed our image. We went from old and drab to NEW and FAB!!!!
This is a nice decent place to live. Relatively quiet, concierge service is good. But could use some updated bathroom and kitchen fixtures. Last year they upgraded the HVAC system, which works great. My apartment probably still has the original sinks bath tub, toilet and bath tile since the building was erected in 1957. Also, I think they should give residents at least one parking space for free and not charge $200 /month. Although they added new washers and dryers, they don't seem to work well, especially the dryers. I'm glad they kept the old front loader washer and stack dryers that costs $0.25 for 7 minutes. They work much better than the newer ones. Some other pros is that the apartment is Metro accessible. Grocery store, library, pharmacy within walking distance.
My husband love living in Chevy Chase and we're saving until we can buy a house in a more affordable neighborhood in DC. I've lived in the Kenmore for almost 3 years now and have had constant issues from the new HVAC system not working properly, our bath tub being clogged several times a month, various light fixtures not working, and having people enter the secured parking lot and being allowed to park in our reserved parking space that we pay $200/month for. I will say there is new management. They've only be in place for about 2 months now so I haven't had much experience with them. In the past when our issues weren't being handled, I contacted the regional Bozzuto property manager to get them resolved. Our lease is up at the end of September and we can't wait to get out of there.
