The Keys

The complex is near two B A,R,T, stations and downtown shops and restaurants. There are thee pools with jacuzzis tennis, basketball racquerball handball, a putting green and the Iron Horse trail is right there. The clubhouse has a gym steam room and sauna, pool tables ping pong 60 foot T. V, and it overlooks a wonderful pond with Greece and Ducks. This place is a 10!

Ever since I was born, I have either lived in or visited The Keys in Walnut Creek. My Grandmother has had a condo there for many years and now I live there with my husband and children. The Keys is, in my humble opinion, the loveliest complex in the area. Lush grass, gazebos, flowers, and a lake with small waterfalls scattered about are just a few of the beautiful things you will find. My children love to walk around and play, saying hello to neighbors and other children. As for the condos themselves, there are different kinds. We live in a high-ceiling unit on the third floor, which gives us access to a terrace complete with trees and roses in front of our unit. The high-ceilings are great and so spacious. Some parts of the condos might need updating, such as the kitchens or bathrooms, but it depends on the unit. The Keys staff work very hard and are always available if you need help with something or have a question. There are lots of dogs here, and they have started enforcing rules to keeps dogs on leashes and to make sure people pick up after their pets. So far, that has been very helpful! The Clubhouse has free wi-fi, coffee and lemonade, TVs, a fireplace, books, a billiard room, and so much more to offer. We spend a lot of time there, and since they've remodeled it, it looks modern and comfortable. The Keys is situated right next to the Iron Horse Trail, which is a big bonus. There are three pools here as well, which my children love. One great thing about the Keys is that, living here for a while, you come to know your neighbors and when you are out walking or at the pool you usually see someone you know. It's a warm feeling and I love the fact that this place is it's own special community. People help one another and many people are very kind to my children. The Keys is situated near Downtown Walnut Creek, and it is between two BART stations, so the location is awesome! Definitely a special place to check out. It's become very family-friendly and the management and staff work very hard here. No place is perfect, but as I sit and write out this review, I realize that for many years the Keys has been a special place to me, and I am grateful I can share it with my husband and children now.

There was a time when I thought i would never live in an apartment again but then the great recession starting in late 2007 hit. I lost my business, home, and had just recently gone through a nasty divorce. I moved into an apartment in Dublin California for a couple years but it was too expensive and 2 moves later got lucky and found my apartment at the Keys in Walnut Creek. It was built in the late 1970's so since I have been here I've rebuilt the bathroom and kitchen due to faulty plumbing damage. The landlord is great and when I do repairs he lets me deduct the cost from the rent. A couple years ago I had to go on chemo therapy and got a couple weeks behind on the rent and he has never complained. I still can't seem to get it paid until around the second or third week but when I go by to pay him we still stand around and chat like we are old friends; as a mater of fact we are by now. The place is on the top floor with a view out the front and back with hardwood floors, granite counters that I installed in the kitchen and simulated travatine tile shower for 1500.00 per month which is really cheep for Walnut Creek.

The Keys Condominiums is a place that my wife's family has resided in since the 1990s. A lot has changed since that time, but the Keys Condominiums has been there for our family. The location is ideal. The Keys is right on the Iron Horse Regional Trail with easy access to Downtown Walnut Creek. The drive to surrounding towns like Concord, Pleasant Hill, Lafayette, Moraga, and Martinez make it a great location. The Keys is a 15 minute walk from two BART Stations. The Keys clubhouse has amenities such as the swimming pool, spa, washer and dryers, tennis courts, basketball courts, and a gorgeous clubhouse (free hot chocolate and lemonade in the summertime! A lake is in the center of the complex and many residents go out on walks around the expanse. Many families live here . The beauty of the landscaping during the day versus the romantic atmosphere of the night evoke relaxation and inspiration for anybody. The Receptionist and Maintenance staff respond well to resident issues. The Keys have been around since the 1970s so there is a natural need for renovation. The beauty of the Keys, the open mic nights at the clubhouse, and the central location make the Keys a wonderful place to live and relax. My wife, our three kids, my father-in-law, my grandmother, and I love the Keys and are very fortunate to rent here!
