Property Ratings at The Lakes at Cypresswood
I've lived here at Lakes at Cypresswood since 2016 after selling my home. I had not intended to be here this long however I must say "I'm still here" My stay here has been great. I've seen many changes with Management but overall the upkeep of the property has been well kept and I have felt comfortable and safe here. The maintenance team has been fantastic, handling every problem very promptly and kindly. The staff is very nice and attentive to any concerns I have when needed. I have felt safe and this has been a comfortable place to live here.

24 hour security patrols were promised when we moved in almost two years ago. We were also told they would monitor all of the morons who drove 40 miles an hour through the parking lot - and if it didn't change they would install speed bumps. During COVID the clubhouse and fitness area was shutdown only to be reopened for appointment only - no reduction in rent BTW We are moving now, and the last poke in the eye from management is to not allow us to use our free carpet cleaning that we never used after renewing our lease. Can't leave fast enough.

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts with us. We work hard to provide friendly service and a clean, comfortable community for our residents, and your comments help us know where we can focus our efforts. We value your input, so please give us a call or come by the office if there is anything more you'd like to share. Thank you, and we wish you all the best.
I have been living in The Lakes at Cypresswood for 1 month and it has been a horrible experience. First off, the management company does not enforce their own rules, so residents take advantage. People put their trash out too early and animals get into the trash. This makes the hallways a disgusting mess. It took several emails and a week later for the trash to be cleaned up. On top of that, residents don’t clean up after their pets and the management company does not maintain the grounds well. Therefore, watch where you are walking. But the worst is that I don’t feel safe here. There have been 4 break ins and 3 cars had their wheels stolen, one of which was mine. They are too cheap to hire a night guard and according to the office, it is not their responsibility as per the lease. My husband contacted the main head quarters and the receptionist hung up on him because she didn’t want to deal with him. Please don’t move here. I never write reviews but I would like to save you the frustration and aggravation that I am experiencing.

DO NOT MOVE HERE!! Moved to the complex one month ago. Since We have been living here, there has been several burglaries, car thefts and four separate vehicles that had their wheels and tires stolen. One week after moving in, we were notified of the first burglary. A few days later we were notified of the second burglary. By week three we had been notified of 3 apartment burglaries, one attempted apartment burglary and two vehicle thefts. When speaking to the front management office, we were assured they would hire off duty police officer to patrol within the apartment complex and would have the same officer asking for ID's at the front gate. Two days later they had one off duty police officer in a sport car sit outside the gate for one afternoon. Police Officer never got out his car and never checked ID's as promised by the building management office. That was the first and last time we saw any Police Officer or security presence. Last night on 03-03-2020. during the night, all four of my cars wheels and tires were stolen, and my neighbor had her vehicle damaged. When we complained to the management office, they stated that there was nothing they could do because crime is happening all around the area. Yes crime does happen everywhere, but the building owner and management company are negligent in providing a safe living environment by refusing in proving 24 hrs security and installing surveillance cameras. Neither the buildings or the grounds have video surveillance cameras except the the lobby area. DON'T MOVE HERE!

Wow, I had plans to move into this property; I went to the property to pray in the unit assigned to me on a Thursday with a move in schedule for the following Saturday. I took a friend with me. The property manager is the person that took me to the unit and what I found was unbelievable. The unit had not been cleaned, not painted the refrigerator handle was sticky above the doors the paint was cracked and in the corner of the decorative nook was dirt very visible dirt. I said to the property manager this unit isn’t clean, nor is has it been painted and I’m moving in Saturday. Her response was, “ someone will come in and whip it down it’s been painted no one has lived in the unit for two months”. My response was whip it down it needs to be cleaned and painted it’s not been painted there dirt above the doors and cracks. She responds, the cracks are from the building settling”. I respond the building is 10 years old it’s settled. I explained to her that this is not acceptable she responds, “ that’s what the damages sheet is for you write everything on it once you move in the discoloring on the counter can’t be changed the dirt around the sink is from the carpet cleaning, the sticky fridge is the seal on the refrigerator. Not one time did she apologize for the appearance of the unit her response was one of unconcern and full of excuses she even told my friend who by the way I suggested that she move there also, “ you walk through your unit and if you don’t like the way it looks you decide to stay or not. Needless to say I’m not moving here and would strongly recommend no one accustom to clean, freshly painted apartments with exceptional customer service live here either. Kathy the property manager has no professional customer service skills and clean living isn’t a priority just rental income. I was excited when I saw the model and I’m well aware that my apartment wouldn’t look exactly like the model but it should have at least mimic it. I rate this place a zero. I’m expecting my deposit back.
I have lived at the Lakes for 2 years and it has truly been a great experience. The office staff changed once in my 2 years here but both groups were awesome. I took one star off because I had a repeating issue with the roof/ceiling of my apartment leaking in multiple areas during heavy rain/storms/Hurricane Harvey. Being that I live on the third floor I understand the likelihood of the issue occurring but it was a nuisance to deal with. Maintenance was swift in responding to the leaks each time they occurred so that was great. The only reason I am leaving is because I am moving to a different side of the city.
I love living at The Lakes at Cypresswood. Apartments are spacious and quiet. Maintenance is always quick and efficient and the management team is gracious and helpful. I sold my home and retired here and would highly recommend calling this home to everyone. The amenities are great and security is excellent. What more could you want! P. Damian
This is by far the best community I've lived in. They offer fun activities and giveaways residents can participate in, and they're always giving back to he community. Move here, you won't regret it. =)
