This is the first apartment that I have rented, but it seems perfectly fine to me. I have not had any issues worth noting. I love the ducks and the geese that like to paddle on the lake; they add a lot of character to the area.

Absolutely horrible management they have here. This place went to the dumps of hell with dirty hallways and roaches in building despite charging each resident 8.00 monthly pest control. They admitted to only spraying the hallways. That not going to help inside if roaches going through the walls of everyone’s apartments. The hallways stink from dog pee and dirt all over carpets tracked from these nasty animals. They should steam the hallways with how much money they make here. Also they have loud drug addicts living in third floor that bust up whole hallway and fight constantly with loud noises. For this high charges they do here better off to move somewhere else as this place is turning into a slum hole. Management does not care to reply back to residents ever here only worried of raising the rent here.

The management in the office are THE worst. Let me start with the apartment it self is run down and just a quick job of a “remodel”. Then when my microwave that was attached to the cabinet started throwing sparks and not working, we reported it to management to get it fixed/replaced. What I was told was they knew about a recall on them and were just “taking them out as they went” with no replacement. Claimed it was stated in the lease. It was not, I had to read the lease to them. AND NOW being in the military I have a pcs date before my contract ends. They tried to deny my request, but after saying they better lawyer up they agreed and granted it. I also had a paper saying I will owe $0 for prorated rent signed by management. Day is here and they say I owe $500!! These people are the awful!

When I first got approved for my apartment, I received a call from the office. I asked if I could view it ahead of time and was told I could not. No biggie. They sent me a virtual tour and told me my apartment would be the same. USB outlets, updated interior and everything. I was very excited. I got to the apartment on move-in day and it was NOT updated at all. It is an ugly apartment and very outdated features, no USB outlets or white cabinetry. I had a ceiling fan in the kitchen that was drooping and couldn't open my cabinets when it was turned on because it would be dangerous. When it finally almost fell out of the ceiling, the maintenance man told me the previous tenants installed it themselves. The bathrooms were not taken care of at all and have a lot of water damage on the cabinets. I made a service ticket because when it rained I had a lot of water coming in from the ceiling near the patio door and it took a week for maintenance to address it. I feel duped. I'm very sad that I was tricked into thinking I was getting something better. I will be moving out once my lease is over.
Thankfully I will be leaving this place in a few weeks. It has been nothing but trouble from the beginning. When I first talked to someone in the office (when we were going to move in) they knew what unit was becoming available but were unable to show at the time.. okay no problem. I asked if it was how the pictures on this website are they said yes the apartment was updated. Come to find out move in day the apartment is not updated. Okay whatever I got over it. Then comes the bathroom… water damage BAD. The whole cabinet needed replaced. They replaced the cabinet BUT did not find the source of the water damage which I can now say is the toilet. Water damage is also seen under kitchen sink (oh how I wish I could add pics to this review). All the cabinets stick and were very gross when I moved in. I am on the ground floor and would start experiencing ants near the patio door. No problem put in a request and they sprayed for ants (it comes out of our rent every month anyways but they only spray when there is a request). They sprayed but there were still ants. Come to find out there were holes in the sealing of the patio door. Getting them to come is impossible so I plugged it with play dough which is doing the trick for now. Now on to the AC. Our living room AC hasn’t worked since move in. Didn’t really matter at the time since it was winter and it wasn’t being used. Summer is hot so I put in a request to have them look at it. I cleaned the filter prior and even the guy who looked at it said it was clean. He said the condenser is not working they will have to replace it. He said they currently have six that it will be replaced in about 1-2 days. I told him that was fine… a week passed… still nothing until we had another issue. On that day I get a call from the office asking if the AC has been replaced. I told them no it still has the same worn buttons and everything. They then tell me I have to be wrong that they are pretty sure they replaced it. I told them they haven’t and that was the end of the call. I then get a message a couple days later stating they are waiting for more AC units it will be a week or two. A week later I get they have replaced it and the request is closed???? They haven’t replaced a single thing I work from home and they haven’t been here besides that first time. Not to mention there NO parking. So unless you want to walk a very far distance because people who shouldn’t be here are taking up the parking lot then I wouldn’t even conside
This is probably the worst place I’ve ever lived. The people in the leasing office never know what’s going on and fail to accurately relay info. Parking is terrible there’s never enough spots. During the winter maintenance will snow your car in but won’t dig it out even they did it. The leasing office intentionally reminds you after that fact about the 60 day vacate notice so they can collect more money from you. Don’t waste you’re time looking here, there’s plenty of better looking apartments in the area.
The Lake at Fountain Square Apartments are just simply amazing. You will definitely enjoy your experience out there. The neighborhood is surrounded with very quality stores, restaurants with great ambience. The management staff are awesome !! Ken O.

BH management has always responded immediately with any issues, repairs or concerns. We're impressed with their response times And with the timing of repairs/ issues.

This community is peaceful, well maintained and safe. All the necessities are either in the community or within a walk able distance from this place. Staff are helpful and responds well whenever you contact them.
Property is beautiful, quiet, they're older buildings but taken care of, no roaches lots of ducks and squirrels. Parking is bad in the summer but fine in the winter, management was super quick and helpful to respond to us.

I have lived here since it was Lakehurst West Apartments, many years ago. This place has undergone so many changes,and since acquiring new owners and a new manager two years ago things are definitely turning around for the better. The things that have always been important to me when judging a place to live are that it is safe, quiet, clean and of course affordable. For me, the Lakes meets those requirements. Seth the new manager really cares about making it a desirable apartment community. I find him, Kristen the assistant manager and the current staff to be reasonable and caring, and quite frankly refreshing to deal with. I feel better now about recommending this place to others than I have in a VERY long time.
do not rent the apartment reasons... 1.Ignorant management (no solution for ur complaints) 2.very very old apartment even the renovated ones ...they are just colored (the problem start showing after few months like mold n mildew in bathroom ,leakage in rooms , scratches on walls ,cockroaches etc0 and plumbing issues and leakages in the buildings.. 3.dog poop (owners do not clean after there dogs). 4.old equipments in apartments(microwave ,electric stove , refrigerator etc) and building(i.e washing machine and dryer) 5. high electricity bill . 6.rude neighbors. 7.no nice social events... 8.very small children park. 9.leasing policy. 10. no seprate buildings for living with pets .(they use the same laundry) 11.smelly lake and duck poop everywhere. and many many more..... stay away if budget is not an issue... Reasons to live here 1.Location ..its nearby Walmart n many restuarents.
I had the worst experience living here. The property is in bad conditions. The management staff is the worst. The leasing office lied to me all the times. My lease was for six months and would have ended in April, they charged me an extra month (May) rent as they said I informed 56 days before rather than 60 days before vacating the apartment. I went to leasing office so many times but they were very uncooperative. Then after paying the extra rent, at the time of leaving the apartment they charged me 1000$ more saying that they made an error and after April I am month to month lease and I have to pay extra charges. Even though it was there error they charged me. I have been living in States for six years in lot of different states but never had such a disappointing experience in my life.
I love the apt alot. But not only that I love the people in there the management staff are awesome and great! for those that's looking to move in make sure you do so.
the property is very old so the apartments are not very good in condition ..there is zero management they will not let u have a look at the apartment before singing the lease...
I moved to the Fountain Square apt. Last year, Sept. I love the place and the area. Very safe and quite place. Walmart is walking distance, harbor five mins drive and Six Flags, and Gurne Mall is like ten mins away. I have never had any issues or problem for anything during my stay there. The management is awesome and helpful. You ask for something, and you will get it immediately. This is by far the best place I have ever rented. I highly recommend the Fountain Square apt. Fair-Economic Apartment. Maintenance is bad, Management staff is worse. BH Management need to change their Property Manager and staff, they are very rude and unprofessional. people are only going for this apartment because location is nice and rent are cheap compare to other Apartment community on same location. Never go for this apartment if budget is not an issue.
