I called the main office to ask a couple of questions regarding the requirements and several other questions before I applied and the lady who answered was very rude ( I called twice) the first phone call very straight forward with no welcoming attitude or any type of good customer service , the 2nd call that I made she hang up on me like she was bothered that I called again. This is making me rethink if I should applied. This is one of the things I look at when looking into places, the customer service since I will be living there for a while I want to feel like home and this just made me hold of on it. Please retrain the staff as these are not cheap apartments I think we expect more and better quality of service . Thank you Rosa.

This was one of the worst overall experiences I have had in almost two full decades of apartment living. Luckily, now that I moved out I can look back and laugh about my time at the LOV. The ability to come home past 6PM and park near my building was one luxury I was never able to enjoy living at the LOV. The facade of luxury is blatant, unfortunatly anyone who comes close enough will quickly notice the ever-visible dog droppings and overuse of pesticides on the lawn. Not to mention, the paper-thin walls and constant noise coming from the lightest of steps from your neighbors. On top of that, the management is pretentious and rude. The property manager uses a soft-spoken voice to cover her arrogant attitude. Save yourself some money and hassle and look elsewhere. There are plenty of very nice apartments in Valparaiso that don't come with the baggage this place entails.

While the apartments and amenities are very nice, I have to agree with the comment about it being a toxic wasteland. Even in the off season when it rains you can still smell it in the air. In response to it being pet friendly, Round-Up is not safe for anybody or anything, including pets. Nicest apartments in the entire area, but toxic, yes.

Thank you for your review and sharing your concerns regarding the application of pre-emergent and herbicide application for broadleaf weed control & fertilization in grass areas and landscape beds. LOV is committed to providing a safe environment for our residents and pets. While pesticides protect our residents from pests that may be found on the surrounding grounds, under some circumstances it could post a slight hazard to pets. Therefore, pest control practices may involve a variety of chemical & non-chemical methods that are designed to control weeds & pests effectively while minimizing potential pesticide exposure. These applications are done between 2-3 times annually. We will be happy to notify all residents on a forward going basis when areas on the property will be treated. I just moved out and I would not recommend this place to anyone. The buildings are not cleaned and kept up, at least not the one I was in. The security door had to be forced shut, the walls were filthy and all scuffed up, and the carpet in the hallways was filthy and stained. It was a complete embarrassment anytime anyone came over. For the price they are charging for rent, I would have expected them to properly maintain and clean their buildings. It's honestly disgusting. They want to advertise as a "luxury" property, charge "luxury" prices, but do cheap motel level cleaning and maintenance.

Don't move here! The office manager is rude and the leasing agents are unprofessional. The whole place is nothing but a toxic waste dump of chemicals. Multiple friends of mine had their dogs getting sick because they're too lazy to pull any weeds out and dump way too much weed killer and and pesticides everywhere . Very unhappy and unhealthy place to live.

The office staff here is horrible and will treat you like trash if they don’t get everything exactly their way. Shouldn’t the customer always come first? Well not here. For what the rent and move cost is you would think you’d be treated better. Please consider another location. This IS NOT WORTH THE PRICE.

The apartments are nice and maintenance issue are resolved quickly, however, dealing with anyone in the leasing office is a major headache. It has been like pulling teeth just to get a simple explanation of leasing terms. I was told the manager was going to reach out to offer some clarity and that hasn't happened.

There is very little noise control in these apartments despite being told at move in that they are very quiet. Also, after having issues with loud neighbors I was told that it doesn’t happen at over apartments which is a lie since I’ve been to apartments in the complex with the same issues. If you life under someone, you will hear EVERY SINGLE move they make and exactly what they are doing at all times. Management said that they have someone to deal with noise complaints and issues 27/4 which is also a lie. These apartments seem haphazardly built. For rent coating this much, you would expect clean grounds and peacefully living but that’s not what you’ll get here. Save your money and look elsewhere.

I haven’t been here long but the staff takes care of me, they do a lot of things besides just cater to a lot of residents. The amenities are much appreciated. The other residents are meh, I find a lot of them to be rude and cold but to each their own. Starting off I worked with Shelley, she was a big help and answered all of our questions. She made the process a breeze. The app to pay online is easy. The aesthetic of the place is unmatched. It’s is a quiet place, walls aren’t too thin, the kitchen was a huge seller for us. I cook a lot and the layout and quality of the kitchen is worth it. It’s secure, it’s not gated but they actually have a deadbolt and a handle lock and a lot of apartments do not have both in the area. I truly feel safe and at home here. If it’s in your budget I’d highly recommend LOV.

The mediocre amenities are not worth dealing with the (mis)management of the main office. To their renters they have nickle and dimed, increased rent to an unreasonable rate, and have unapologetically overcharged accounts. Save yourself the effort and rent from one of the many other complexes in the area or surrounding areas.

Beware of being taken advantage of. Renewal rates offered are higher than current market rates providing no incentive for current renters to stay. They will nickel and dime and the already premium price. I leased in June 2018 and I’m now offered a renewal at higher than the current listed price with the only explanation being market rent increases are coming and we have been told to do this. Staff even agreed that they raised this concern to the owners and nothing was done.

Don't get me wrong, the complex is nice, it is quiet, and the apartments have decent quality amenities. However, you must get used to a management team that does not understand their duties nor the basic customer service required when such high rent amounts are demanded. Three times I've had to have my rent adjusted because they didn't update their system. The construction team came into my apartment without notice and left footprints on my carpet, along with not locking my apartment properly after they left. I came home to my locks switched and boot prints up my stairs, I immediately thought I was walking in to a burglary. The office sent men in masks to remove Christmas decorations instead of notifying tenants not to display lights on their balconies. I was told by the office that my new stainless steel grill looked "like a trailer park feature" and had to be moved. I am close to moving out and will update this review should things turn for the better or worse.
