Property Ratings at The Lantern Apartments
A decent community with lots of amenities. The maintenance team needs to be even more proactive in resolving the resident issues. Friendly staf, Pet friendly cpmmunity makes this apartment stand out in the Glen Mills area.
This is such a beautiful community with plenty of things do do around. The office staff is really very friendly and kids have great park which is kept very clean. Overall the community is very clear and safe.
I have lived here with my fiance for about 1.5 years. The apartments are pretty nice and have a decent amount of space. It is a quiet area with normal noise for an apartment complex. The maintenance however, is absolutely terrible. I submitted a request to fix a cabinet, two months ago. Still waiting for them to fix it. Prior to that the dryer stopped working, I had to follow up, daily, with the leasing agent to try and get the problem resolved. For every email i sent it would take at least 3-4 days for a response. The Trash/Recycling set up is completely backwards. They have two trash bins together, and the recycling bins you have to search all over the complex for. There are only two areas to recycle, so as you can imagine, no one wants to hunt for this, so recycling here needs improvement. All the amenities are either broken or need repair. the clubhouse is kinda open with the gym, but still needs work, the grills aren't supplied with propane, the fountain was only recently turned on, the firepit doesnt work, and yet they still require an amenities fee. There are better places in this area that won't charge you as much or if they do, they have the amenities they advertised.
Glad that the club house has re-opened again. Thank you! I would be great if management could clean the cobweb through the complex more diligently, and provide better pest control. Thank you.
Overall this is a great community to live in. Neighbors are friendly and considerate of those around them. The pool and rec area are well maintained.
Nice neighborhood. Well maintained. Friendly Staff. Units needs remodelling. But no major complaints. 4/5 rating. I highly recommend this community - Lantern at Glen Mills
Terrific apartment complex and great people. Units are clean and the staff is terrific. Only issue I have is that sometimes there can be neighbors with too much noise, but that's natural to happen from time to time.
We are family with 2 small kids and live here for 1,5 years. It's a really pleasant place to live. Quiet location, very helping staff and maintenance team. All issues addressed promptly.
In general it is good. The environment is beautiful with Cherry Blossom during the Cherry Blossom. They are also very efficient in cleaning the snow. However, the rent is getty to be more and more pricey. It is also expensive to heat up the apartment. Also, sometimes the water heater in the apartment sometimes does not work, especially for the bathroom close to the Master bedroom!
Staff is nice, the grounds are dirty. Trash is everywhere and people don't clean their dog poop. I pay too much to have to see it every day.
Love the location Amenities and layout of the apartment. We downsized and couldn’t be happier in our new home. Love not having to shovel snow, rake leaves, and fix things!!!!!
I stayed in this apartment last year and my experience has been worst. leasing ppl never answer ur calls. no maintenance requests are considered or takes year to get back. for 1 spot on carpet they charged me entire carpet cost. the price they also almost took my deposit and return pennies. I called them and no help was offered. I would suggest stay away and don't go by photos and look of the apartment. you will end up suffering.
The Lantern did not return calls or email to be able to come in and view an apartment. Once we finally reached someone we went and toured and decided that it would be the perfect place to move our family. However, the application process and communications were horrendous. After our application was submitted we did not hear back and attempted to get our deposit back. The application was emailed in on the afternoon that the welcome letter was sent - to a completely different email than what was used for prior communications. In the application contract it states that applications will not begin being processed until all applications are received and we were verbally told that applications take 24-48 hours to process. So how they can process an application in 1 hour amazes me. Due to this communication error on the part of the Lantern and them deciding that “hey we should send this letter to an email that we haven’t been using to talk to these applicants with.” We are being told our deposit will not be returned. When in the application contract it states that if we do not hear back in 7 days we are due our deposit.
I've lived in the Lantern at Glen Mills for almost two years. All-in-all the complex is visually pleasing, but logistically and structurally lacking. Pros: - The apartments look beautiful. The hardwood floors and granite counter tops are sure to please those who like a modern aesthetic. - The location is fantastic, right off of Route 202 and just a couple minutes from Route 1. It's very easy to get just about anywhere, and being able to walk to Meghan's and Bruster's is nice, also. - Most of the neighbor's I've encountered are very friendly - Maintenance is generally very responsive to requests Cons: - Do not expect to be comfortable here in the winter. As a couple other reviews have noted, the apartments get VERY cold. Even putting plastic over the windows, it's hard to sit near a window from November - March. - Heating bills are absurd. I pay triple what I've paid in previous apartments for heating in the winter months (upwards of $200/month for one bedroom, only to still be cold) - Parking is extremely limited. If you get home at odd hours, expect to park on the other side of the complex. I would recommend budgeting a garage into the price of the apartment - If you move in during times when demand is low or during a particular rent special, expect a large rent increase after the first year
TOTALLY INAPPROPRIATE !!!! CAME IN MY APARTMENT WITHOUT NOTICE AND DID NOT LEAVE A NOTE. NOTHING !!!!!! PLUS THERE ARE 2 ANIMALS THAT WERE LEFT OUT BECAUSE I WAS NEVER TOLD!!!!!! TRESPASSING !!! I AM SO UPSET. ABSOLUTELY UNECESSARY AND DISTURBING ! GOD ONLY KNOWS WHAT HAPPENED WHILE THEY WERE IN MY HOME. MY POOR DOGS WERE PROBABLY PETRIFIED. DEFINITELY NOT RENEWING THE LEASE.

Thank you for calling us yesterday to let us know you did not receive the letter we delivered about dryer vent cleaning. I personally delivered this letter on April 19 for the April 25 service. I apologize as the letter must have blown off your front door. I spoke with the vendor and our Maintenance Technician and they confirmed your dogs jumped on the couch when they opened the front door and remained there during our visit. Please contact us with any additional concerns at 610-558-6848 or stop by our leasing office. Again, we apologize for any inconvenience. Sincerely, Amy Watkins Business Manager The Lantern at Glen Mills
I do not like to complain, but there are several things I think this apartment complex managment should be aware of specifically because we are under new managment and lost a lot of real nice workers. Here are a few things: There is only one maintenance man that helps the renters and seems to actually care. He could use help from the managment group. We renters feel bad for him and we try not to have to ask if we really can do with out. We do recognize Joe as a great guy. We renters have issues with the upkeep of what the apartment complex calls "luxury". We are attacked by a bird problem before entering our door to our home and garages. The refrigerator and other appliances are so outdated my microwave set on fire. I can only use three burners on my electric stove and I have to put plastic up on all my windows in the winter time because it is so very cold in the winter time. My kids and I wonder what the definition of luxury really means because the "bran new" carpet the complex put in last year is flater than a basement floor. It is really uncomfortable here, but I can't go anywhere because the divorce process has left me with bad credit. I have two great kids and my mom helps me survive at the age of 48.......I am blessed and grateful for all that I do have and the opportunity to help Joe and maybe help myself, my kids, and my mom live more comfortably in a "luxury" apartment.......
The Lantern at Glen Mills is by far one of the best apartments ive ever seen. Great location, great staff, great neighbors, great place all around. I constantly see workers here fixing, updating, and maintaining the grounds and the hard work pays off because everything looks beautiful and clean. Very family oriented and very pet friendly and the pool is great for the summer. This place felt like home from the day we moved in, I love it here and would stay here forever if I could! Highly recommended for anyone and everyone! :)
I've lived at the Lantern at Glen Mills for just over a year, and while I've been pleased with the property and my apartment most of the time, it does has its pros and cons. First and foremost, the one bedroom apartment I live in is anything but cheap, at about $1400 a month, it's one of the more reasonably priced residences in Garnet Valley/Glen Mills, but still, it's only 800 sq. ft, and it's on the 3rd floor! Speaking of the 3rd floor, if you're taking a look at these apartments, I would recommend you avoid level 3 at all costs if possible. Sure, you may think the stairs will be good for you, and they'll get you into (better) shape, and that's true, but you will loathe buying new furniture, picking up groceries, or even picking up larger items at big box retailers. Not only will you get tired of going up and down all 40 stairs, but since you're on the highest floor, and heat rises, your air conditioning will run constantly in the summer, and heck, if you don't want to roast in the winter, you may even run your AC then as well. The property and the inside of the apartment is nice, they're definitely nicer than most other apartments I've seen, and they have a much appreciated open floorplan as well. However, looks only go so far, up close, these apartments are cheap. Cheap appliances, and cheap construction. I bet I could buy a plot of land and build a small house (twice the size of this apartment) in the same location, and pay less. The balcony is a nice-to-have, but if you want to actually use it, I would suggest getting an apartment that gets sun in the morning, and shade in the evening, otherwise when you get home from work and you want to relax on your balcony, you'll roast to death on a hot summer day. Don't get me wrong, direct sunlight on your balcony is great if you want to tan or use an electric grill (no gas or charcoal) but if not, it sucks, and since the balconies are constructed with cheap wood, it attracts bees and wasps, so good luck with that too. Oh yeah, and last but not least, if anything happens to your apartment, or you need maintenance, good luck getting them to come quickly. Since there are 14 buildings, and only 3 or 4 maintenance guys, they usually have quite a bit of work to do, so you'll be waiting a week or 2 for even the smallest repairs. All in all, the apartment isn't as bad as I make it sound, I just want to be honest. The neighbors are all relatively nice, it's in a great area, and it sure beats living in the city!
My apartment is getting dated but overall it's been ok needs to be bigger for the price I pay I PLEASE HELP I' feel so alone and need your help
