Property Ratings at The Laurels
I like that the apartment is spacious, but they don't provide pest control and don't really make that too apparent so even with regular cleaning my first month here was filled with cockroaches and ants. Even if I keep up with my own pest control, if I leave a dish out over night, I'll wake up to sugar ants all over it. Valet trash is the only thing they provide the residents but they're super picky about it and if your trash is invaded due to a creature after you leave for work and won't get off till after trash pick up, they just leave it there! The units are outdated and when I put in a request about my dryer not drying when I try to use any setting but high dry, they tell me to just use high dry and don't bother with other settings, God forbid you have to dry delicates! Glad I left and def don't think it's work the money. The landscaping is beautiful and the neighborhood is quiet though.

Hi Arianna! I'm so sorry you had a problem with pest control! I am here to help with anything and everything! We have pest control and we definitely work closely with them if anything comes up with our residents. I personally don't like bugs and I wouldn't want any of my residents having to deal with that situation! We also have a valet trash company that comes through 5 days a week to pick up bagged trash from your receptacle. We actually suggest bungee cords to help keep critters out of the trash as the valet company can't pick up trash that's not bagged. Lastly, we have upgraded apartment homes in addition to standard apartment homes. I apologize to you whole hardheartedly, I truly wish I would've known these issues beforehand, I would've done everything I could to help resolve them!

We moved out of our 3/3 townhome Friday, the 15th, and I can't even begin to tell you how amazing my experience with this community has been. It's quiet, peaceful, homey, secluded and each unit really does feel like it's own home. I have a family of 5, and we absolutely loved everything about our neighborhood, office staff, maintenance technicians, landscaping, etc. If I could give The Laurels 5 times 5 stars, I would! Would definitely recommend this property to anyone and everyone!

I lived on campus for the first three years at UF. I decided to spend my last year off-campus at the Laurels. I LOVE IT. It is home! The apartment is spacious and comfortable. The neighborhood is quiet. There have been no loud parties. The neighborhood cats are friendly too. Everything is well maintained and perfect for college students that prefer to live home-like environment. It is also SAFE. There is a security gate coming into and out of the apartment after hours. (the only complaint is that they are not consistent when security guard comes... Sometimes it's 7pm, 8pm, 10pm, or even 10:30pm!) Maintenance work orders respond within a day. Super affordable too!

The team at The Laurels is amazing! Gary, Tricia, and Susan are the most helpful. Their response to work orders is always super quick. I love how the team really makes you feel like part of a community and they genuinely care about their residents.
I'm Here to share my very disappointing experience with the Laurels. I have been contacting a leasing agent since January for July move-in. I was told they would not know until after March 1 I was OK with that. After March 1 I give a call and then I'm told though there is not an apartment available for July there is one for June though there is not an apartment available for July there is one for June move in. I was perfectly happy with that. I told the leasing agent to send me the forms and I would stop by later today with all the appropriate fees paid all the forms turned in. Later that day I received an email saying that unfortunately there is not an apartment available because they are holding it for a person who had not signed. Here is a copy of the email that I received: "Hey Jenica! I wanted to confirm availibility for June with my manager and we already have what we call a conteigent lease on the only one available. They would be the first person to have the apartment offered to them and I know she really wants it for that time. So we actually don't have anything available for June or July, I do apoligize for the inconvience. You could always try Aspen Ridge or The Landings to see what they have available, they're within our company." This is why I am upset. If the contingent lease option was available it would've been nice to know back in January when I contacting the leasing office for an apartment. If there was a waiting list I would have been content being on a waiting list. My anger comes from the fact that it was obvious the leasing agent had no interest in me signing the lease even though I expressed profound interest. My anger comes from the fact that I was not offered good customer service and the fact that they would offer other people promises and not even consider me on the list their "special list". What makes my need less valuable than the person they already offered. I expressed a need and a want, yet they would bend over backwards for someone else but not for me. But now I know this leasing office runs on favoritism. So unless you're friends with the office staff you're not going to be treated well

The Laurels is a great place for students who are over the whole college scene. It is close to campus but away from the traffic. Neighborhood is quiet and apartments are nice, many are upgraded. Near the woods so bugs are common, but apartment complex is good with pest control.
