Property Ratings at The Legacy Apartments
The staff from the leasing office is rude. Moved in with a very high expectation, but the management just ruined everything. They never support and consider how residents feel. I regret signing up with the legacy.
Property Manager at The Legacy Apartments, Responded To This Review
We are terribly sorry to know you feel this way, and we can assure you that this is not reflective of the service we try to offer and the way in which we value our residents. We would like to speak with you directly to gather additional details, and hope you'll give us a call at (303) 651-3600 when you can. Thank you.
I am beginning to regret renewing my lease at the Legacy Apartments. Management has recently let the property fall into a state of decline with potholes spotting the parking lots, abandoned cars being left in spots for months at a time, and debris from leaf cleanup and lawn clippings left in the walkways to your apartment. The adjacent road, Ceran Ave features a growing number of homeless people living out of their cars. I believe it won't be long until I live next to a full-blown shanty town. Management is far more concerned with renovating apartments for new residents than they are with meeting the needs of existing tenants. The maintenance personnel have become especially passive aggressive, which is why I've decided to leave a message here. The property is listed as "No dogs allowed" but that is clearly not obeyed by the many dog owners currently living there. There are also dog waste containers scattered across the property, bringing people from outside the residence to walk their dogs. I'm waiting for cigarette containers to come next, even though they say they are "No Smoking." In summary, I am certainly less pleased with this apartment than when I first signed up and I hope the leasing office sees this and gets their act together. Any response to this posting by management is a moot point, as I have already contacted you about these issues. I will not be resigning my lease again, but I probably will get a dog.
Property Manager at The Legacy Apartments, Responded To This Review
Hello, Thank you for sharing your concerns with us. We do pride ourselves as “No Smoking” community and any time we find anyone offending the “No Smoking Addendum” we do act legally. We would much appreciate if you are seeing offenders to come and let me, as the Manager know. We will keep your identity private, and we will be happy to handle those that are offending as we have done in the past. Regarding the “No Dog” policy, the only dogs we do have to allow is pursuant to Federal Law for “Service, Assistive/Companion” animals; however, that said, we have placed clean up stations, as the people with these types of animals, still have to abide by “clean up” and good behavior or their animals. Again, if you know of anyone offending and not cleaning up or causing loud noise due from their animal that is disturbing you, please do bring it to my attention and we will absolutely address it and will keep your identity private. Regarding our landscaping, we do take pride and our landscapers that have been with us for many years, have worked hard to make sure cleanup, maintenance care, and overall trimming and flower care are a part of their weekly duties. As for the people that park at Ceran Ave., be assured that we notify the police department immediately when we see them. Please, it is not a moot point. We would appreciate if you come by the office and talk to me, the manager, about your concerns. We are sure we can and will help. Thank you for your comments.
The newly renovated apartments are beautiful. I’ve called maintenance once for the dryer and once for a running toilet and both were fixed within 24 hours. The office staff is very nice and the office cat is adorable. I live next to great people, my building is quiet since there are several older couples here. The community is quiet and clean and there is a great park for the kids and two pools for summer fun. My only recommendation is to expand the gym to make it a bit bigger.

Does not feel like a home. I will abide by your rules, but if you have a problem with me, give me a call, don't leave a sign on my door.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are incredibly disappointed to read that you feel negatively towards our community. We'd like the opportunity to speak with you, gather more information on your specific concerns, and hopefully provide solutions and restore your opinion. Please feel free to stop by our office or give us a call at (303) 651-3600. Thank you. - The Legacy Team
Do not live at these apartments. The communication between the leasing office and management is very poor. They couldn't relay a simple message that the manager was supposed to contact me about damage the maintenance crew did to my apartment floor. It is supposed to be a non-smoking community, when I reported to management that my neighbors were smoking and the smell was coming into my apartment they simply stated that they could do nothing about this. Also, they were remodeling all of the apartments around me and doing construction on Thanksgiving day! The smell from the chemicals they were using would come into my apartment and make my dog very sick. When I reported this to them, they did not even apologize about the situation. They just looked at me. This place will try to charge you for damages that are not there when you move out. Do not live here, there are far better places in Longmont that are not as expensive.

We are sorry to hear that you have not had a great experience at The Legacy Apartments. Our community has been making many improvements for the enjoyment of our current and future residents. During this process we have had a few staff changes as well that we expect to assist in improving our community. We ask that if still feel you have issues that have not been resolved to please contact the manager as you are correct we are a non-smoking community and we do not want to leave any issues unresolved. Thank you, The Legacy Team
I've never met a ruder group of individuals. I don't know if the office staff is overworked (there's never anyone in the office so it's hard to say) or if they are mad about their pay, or if they are just terrible people, but do not move here unless you want to deal with rude "landlords" anytime you need anything. Maintenance issues go unaddressed. Shabby facilities. Carpet from 1995. Convenient to Boulder. Did I mention the horrible rude staff? They're that bad. Don't be fooled - they are good at getting you to sign and that is where their job ends as far as they are concerned. After that, you are an annoyance to them.
I lived at the Legacy for 5 years and strongly recommend the property, from office staff to (especially!) maintenance people. I hadn't lived in apartment for 60 years, but when I moved to Montana a couple of months ago, I chose to find an apartment, based on the Legacy experience. All the staff were incredibly kind to my wife and myself as she was dying over the space of 4 years -- checked in on us, got on any requests and repairs right away, created a reserved parking space so I could push her wheelchair to the car, the office cat became a buddy... The apartment itself was pleasant, some neighbors became close friends I still keep in touch with, the amenities are good, and I'm told that my old apartment has gotten an impressive upgrade. I gather that prices are comparable to other places in Longmont. Shopping is incredibly convenient, there are parks and trails very nearby... OK, enough! It's a good place.
Fantastic apartments and quiet community. Everything is well maintained and most apartments have a view of the Rockies. Staff is more than polite and fast at getting work orders done. The only reason I left was because of work and in my exit I had no issues with getting my safety deposit back.
Good apartment complex and Latoya been helpful. Definitely recommend to people who love silence, peace and non smoking community. - Sandeep
Nice apartments for young professionals and families. Maintenance men are always available, and jobs are done on time. I have great mountain views, but they are being eliminated by construction as the area gets more popular. Rent is about average now in Longmont, but the amenities here are better than most places.
The apartments them selves are ok. They could you use updating though and for the price we pay to live here, they definitely need some updating. The office people are nice and helpful. The grounds are pretty and maintenance crew changes every month almost so, but they take care of things pretty fast.
The Legacy Apts have the most responsive and knowledgeable maintenance team I've ever experienced in 30 years of renting. Lots of leasing & management turnover or limited training, but always try to find answers or correct errors. This is a large & transient community, so Apts always available. For quality and amenities, one of more affordable large communities accesdible by public transit. Only real complaint is the sound proofing between walls & floors (I have autism with sound sensory issues). It is an older community, which has been nicely upgraded. Management not thorough in following up on lease violation complaints. Not a problem for most humans, but irritating to rule-abiding individual with autism. Despite a couple minor issues, one of a very few larger communities I've enjoyed calling home.
Appears very clean and well maintained. Crystal, office staff, was very professional, helpful and friendly.
I moved into this community last year and have found it a very pleasant place to live. The staff is helpful, the maintenance is superior, the neighbor is terrific as it is close to shopping, trails, schools, coffee/restaurants and my employment. The fact that they are a non-smoking community and don't allow annoying dogs, is plenty reason to live here. You won't be disappointed!
