Property Ratings at The Legend at Speedway
They do not maintain their property and they have mold and water leaks and damage they will simply plaster with dry wall than actually repair and fix and expect you to pay for an apartment that only has one bathroom but debris and mysterious water from my upstairs neighbors bathroom down to my bathroom. Mind you the debris dropping down has mold on it the health department confirmed it and they are in violation with my apartment.

These apartments are renovated and you can definitely tell. I moved in only because I needed somewhere fast. My area was nice and quiet some nights. The wall paint is caked up because they’ve painted over it so many times. However, the apartments themselves are decent. It’s the office that gave this the one star. I am literally OCD. I vacuum and mop everyday always cleaning and fixing things. So my apartment was perfectly clean. We take our shoes off at the door etc.I took a video of the apt when I moved out. Finally get my deposit back and it went from $500 to $55........ Now I agreed to one charge because of the last month I paid my rent late. The other charges were carpet cleaning (mind you we take our shoes off at the door & eat in the kitchen no spills AT ALL), drip pans, and wall paint! The apartment wasn’t even completely painted when I moved in and they still didn’t fix it after I requested. I fought and I fought and they still didn’t want to give me my money. Even the manager said, “Yea, the apartment looks pretty clean.” So give me all my MONEY! As a apartment complex you should want residents like this. Now your running them away and whomever they refer but I would never refer ANYONE. Due to the fact you guys didn’t want to give me what you know I deserved and made me have to hassle you for it. It was wrong!
They are overpriced, infested with roaches and overall rude. In the time that I've been here, I've had an issue with my heat (in one of the worse winters Indy has seen in a while), my air, and my loud neighbors who continue to smoke weed all day. The parking is open which means that when I come home if any of my neighbors are having company I am stuck parking up the street. Everything is half fixed. Instead of new cabinetry, they painted over the old stuff and that is just an example of the poor workmanship. Not to mention the washer and dryer they have are always broken so if you don't have a means from transportation I hope you have a bottle of fabreeze. I would consider this one of the biggest waste of money...ever.
Maintenance is horrible, they slow to fix things. They don't leave slips stating they was in your apartment. Been waiting almost a month for window screens. Their only concerns is updating empty apartments while their current residents go ignored. If I could rate them a "0" I would.
Copper tree is nice for the price and easy to get approved for. a speedway police academy is close by so the area is often monitored. The staff are alright and they are usually timely with resident concerns. I've never had a problem with noise or my neighbors in general. There are two schools within walking distance and a library as well. The best part is the shoppers plaza behind the apartments that include a Kroger, kohls, tjmaxx, dollar tree and several food options!
It's a great place to live and it's safe for my children but being a single mother it's hard to keep up on the bills of the apartment this would help us out alot
I would recommend this apartment to someone for the most part the office staff is very nice and they work with you. My townhouse was nice for what I paid for and and they really make sure they keep there property clean and looking nice, the only things that I didn't like we're my home has been broken into while living here , and Maintenance takes forever to fix something it was a few times I just called my dad to come fix things overall I give them 3 stars it has been nice living here
Lived here for years until just recently. For the price, the apartments are rather spacious, all stores and necessities were within walking distance, and the amenities included in the apartment were mostly new such as the kitchen equipment! However, there was (much to our surprise as we did not actually get to see the apartment into which we would be moving until we already had to have signed the contract) quite the unfinished look when my husband and I moved in compared to the apartment we were initially shown. There were several unpainted patches from holes punched in the wall, light switches that either did not work or did not connect to anything at all-- and this was a finished, newly renovated apartment. We would often visit nearby neighbors ( just next door) in the community, though, who had it much worse off. If you did NOT get a renovated apartment, the entire unit was a mess and falling apart. It says they have a pool; yes, they do. However, several years in a row, the pool would not open until August and then close down promptly on September 21st. Also, if you lived in any of the buildings nearest the Speedway school, you had to bear the band practice occurring just outside with blaring volume several hours a day when weather permitted. Plus, we did have some issues with our car being broken into and vandalized, and we even had to call 911 and sometimes break up some domestic disturbances that occurred often just outside of our window. Cops and shooting noises were not uncommon in this area, which is understandable (it happens everywhere), but when you can't sleep because of loud music or loud shouting and pounding through walls it can become rather unbearable. Maintenance was also very difficult to get as we would often have to wait much too long (1-4 weeks) for an Air Conditioning repair in 90 degree weather or plumbing repair that flooded the unit. What's more, the management had a very "don't care" attitude when it came to attempting to receive maintenance on such key elements as plumbing, electrical shorts/sparks emitting outside from near the shed, or temperature control. Other than that, it was an alright place to live on a budget. The con's just began outweighing the pro's for us, which was one of the deciding factors of renting a home elsewhere instead. I just noticed there weren't any other reviews on this community yet; so I thought our experience there should be known by those considering Coppertree Apartments.
Coppertree apartments is a very good apartment complex which is loacted in a great away. Right in the heart of the race track and is a very family orientated environment. I would refer anybody to these apartments.
