Property Ratings at The Lex at Brier Creek
Too soon to tell but new property management seems to be much better than the last.
If I could give this property zero stars I absolutely would. I applied for this apartment complex back in July. I cancelled my application due to communication issues with management. During my initial tour the office manager notified me that he had only been with the company for about 40 days so he was unable to answer many of the question I had but he was still very enthusiastic and I love the property so I took a chance. After completing my application and paying my admin fee I had issues verifying my employment and pay. I tried both links that the company sent however they weren’t working properly. I emailed and called for assistance and received very little help. When I called the office I found out that there was a new office manager who had only been with the company for 7 days and the only help he could offer me was to contacted the screening company directly. I contacted the screening company and left several messages and to this day they have not contacted me back. I decided to cancel my application and was told I would receive my admin fee within 30 days. I allowed 35 days to go by and never received my admin fee or any correspondence from the company. I emailed one of the consultants whom I spoke with during the time I complete my application and she informed me that they had not processed my refund and needed more time that was August 28th. On Friday, September 13th I contacted the property again for an update on my refund and did not received a response for several days. Once I finally received a response, I was notified that despite the fact I canceled my application in July and contacted them on August 27th. My refund was not processed until 9/3 I was told to reach out if I have not received my refund by 10/3. Over 60 day wait period to receive admin fee despite being told I will only have to wait 30 days. I asked to speak with a regional manager and no one has also reached out. I am grateful I did not continued my application with this apartment. They were incredibly shady from the beginning .

While everyone on staff has been super kind and attentive, I cannot talk enough about how much stuff comes with living in this community, a pool, playground, tennis courts, and an amazing gym!

Poor management and bad customer service from the apartment manager, the lady at the front desk hardly say Hello to customers. When you put in work orders it’s takes forever to complete.

Caution rent at own risk. I had an electrical plug in that almost caught fire. Maintenance looked at it and stated, yep its burnt. They never fixed or addressed it. I have a running and stomping child above me that they refuse to do anything about to stop the behavior despite having a playground within a few feet away. All they tell me is they can write a letter. I am currently seeking legal counsel to remedy because every other avenue has failed. Advertised gated community. The gates have been broken for 2 years now with no repair in sight. They close early despite stating the are open until 6 pm and staff runs to avoid you. Put in order for my mail box lock to be repaired and its still broken. Asked corporate to call me and they ignor me. I would rent elsewhere. You have been warned.
The views that state this is a great place to live aren't accurate. In 2021 the property was bought by another company & that's when it went down hill. They ran out all the office workers that were here with the original company. The front office, when you can reach them are rude, disrespectful and ma'am you to death, well running you in circles. Getting them to fix anything, takes a act of god. If there's a emergency, they may show up right away (depending on the emergency) or it could take hours. The 2 emergencies that I have had, the 1st. they did nothing about the 2nd. which could cause major health issues, they ignored, then after weeks told me to submit a work order. The lack of consideration or helpfulness, is concerning and a little frightening. I did re-sign with the new company and regret it because of the miss management and disrespect (They had just taken over). The rent from 2021- 2022 went up 24%, yes I did the math, I countered and it was excepted, however it wasn't worth it. There are about 20 units per building. On my side, which would be 10, only 5 are rented at this time. You will pay a lot to live in this dump and have to deal with disrespectful front office people. Try another complex around here & save yourself the BS

We appreciate you bringing this issue to our attention. We are truly disappointed we did not meet your expectations. We have had some turnover within our staff and we believe that this will make a major difference in your experience moving forward. We are truly sorry about the issues that you have experienced and want to assure you that we are working diligently to turn your experience around.
The complex was bought out by first communities between 5 and 6 months ago. Its gone down hill since, and everything has been blamed on "transfer of management" which would have been okay during the first month or two. But 5 months, be serious. Doors and windows are not sealed properly so bugs are a huge problem. Roaches, spiders, gnats, you name it. I put in a work order and they sprayed but the bugs were and still are an issue. I bought home defense and that still has not fixed the problem. Cracks up and down the walls. Poor patchwork that they tried to "fix". Masking tape still left where they painted before we moved in. Blinds are not properly installed and almost fell down on me in the living room and bedroom. I had a bulb go out in my kitchen and it took over a MONTH to get a new light bulb. I went up to the office at least 3 times to get it fixed. I was told in the middle of my lease we will be getting a kitchen reno while still living in the apartment. But have heard around it's not happening until we move out. No word from management on when that's happening. ZERO communication about anything from management. Our back gate was open for the first 3-4 months we lived here because it was broken. So they randomly decided to chain it shut, with no warning. Nor any communication as to when it'll be fixed. The complex as a whole has not been charged water fees for 4 months because they are having an issue with transferring it over, and when asked about if we will be charged late fees i was not given a straight answer if we will be charged late fees. Even though its an issue on their end. Even if they had been charging a flat fee each month would have been better than springing on everyone that we may or may not be getting hit with late fees for an issue that occured on their end. I've had my apartment flooded 3 times because of living on the bottom floor. Each time someone came buy in a quick and timely fashion to "fix" the plumbing issue. But because the way the building was built the two top floors water usage drains into the bottom floors apartment as well. So if anyone is causing blockages and you live on the first floor good luck. And if you look into the water heater room i'm fairly positive there is mold due to the repeated flooding of the first floor. The maintenance staff is kind and friendly, i've never had an issue with them aside from band aid fixes, but the front office and upper management are awful.

We want to thank you for taking the time to give feedback about your recent experience. We sincerely apologize for the frustration you experienced at our location. We appreciate your feedback and are working diligently to turn your experience around.
Poor management shady business and poor upkeep of the apartments . You will regret living here after a while
My apartment flooded 5 times already. No reason except well thats what you get for living in bottom unit. Thought we could be moved into a better unit since we just moved in but now no response from anyone. Bugs flying around all day and night because doors and windows aren't sealed properly. Dryer is broken and its been weeks still no help.Up stairs neighbors are so loud we hear Everytime their kids run jump or drop things, our hallway lights shake and flicker. Im upset for thinking this place would be my settling place, now im just gonna wait out this lease and try to stay gone as much as possible.
I have resided in this complex for ~ 4 years. Everyone on the staff are great. Always helpful. Always very pleasant. They know who I am when I see them in the office. I love that...
Great place to liveits a mixture of different people and personalities as is the surrounding communities.
Been residing here for the past 10 years and am very satisfied with my residency. Great location and services throughout the management and maintenance personnel. Really appreciate the fact that this complex has security gates.
My experience so far living at The Lex at Brier Creek has been a very excellent experience. Everything went smoothly. It made the transition definitely easier, less stressful, and as close to painless moving can be. I am happy that we were told everything upfront and there app makes keeping communication line always open. I would highly recommend The Lex to my friends and family.
Great place to live. Great location to Brier Creek Raleigh. Staff is very professional and very polite nice as units
I've been living here for almost three years and have no complaints. The property is clean and the staff is professional and friendly.
As much rent that we pay. This experience has been absolutely hood like. People smoking weed right inside and in front of the apartments. Loud music playing all times of the night. Even wee hours of the morning. All the time.
This is the very first apartment I have lived in on my own, and it has been a good experience so far. The gated community helps me feel safe, especially having two small children. Jay has worked with me several times to get several issues fixed right away. The maintenance team has been fast to respond to any issues I've had. You also can't beat the location.
This community is family-friendly very peaceful the maintenance and the staff are very kind and welcoming and very willing to help if there's any issues they are very prompt in their responses these properties are absolutely gorgeous inside and out they have so much character and personality and the options and floor plans are absolutely amazing I plan on staying here until I'm ready to buy a house and even then I may still keep my apartment as a getaway when I need some time to myself I would encourage anyone looking for somewhere nice to stay for a reasonable price and likes luxury this is where you want to go
I've been at the Lex for less than a month. The staff at The Lex is very responsive and the maintenance crew is awesome! The grounds are very quiet and the neighbors I haven't met yet due to Covid, but they all seem nice.
I've been living there 5 years and have really enjoyed my stay very polite staff very good amenities all around nice place to be
Nice place to live. Great floor plans and great location. Close to everything.
As a previous resident, I would recommend the Lex apartment. All emergency request are handled in a timely manner.
The apartment had a lot of space but no storage. The only good thing about management was Jay in the front office. The rest of the office is rude and condescending. The Maintnence crew is the absolute worst. They are careless, rude, and creepy. I have never been so disappointed in an apartment complex and treated so poorly.
The office staff and maintenance are NON-RESPONSIVE. They do not answer phones and if you go in person they will tell you "ok we will get it fixed" and you will not hear from them again.
Every staff member I have worked with has been incredibly pleasant and willing to go above and beyond
Friendly staff, beautiful apartments, great neighbors
The maintenance man was very professional and prompt!
The Lex's staff is always very friendly and the maintenance crew were awesome. Kay and Alexis were the two I was in contact with the most and they definitely keep it straight forward while being really friendly and helpful in any situations. The only issue we had was with the sprinkler leak but they got that fixed as soon as we made it a pressing issue. They were always kind and never rude. Sometimes the wait for maintenance took a bit but only because they were so busy on a constant basis. My fiance and I really enjoyed living here during our stay.
Answer Answer Answer my emails on the double charges on my account!!! 1. Mold in the master bathroom ceiling. When I asked them to fix it they came and spray painted over it and thought I wouldn't notice. Mold came back in 48 hours worse than before. Took them over two weeks to fix this issue. 2. Maintenance closet in the hallway dripping and leaking. This time they said it was because I live on the bottom floor and thats where the AC drains. I asked the other residence if they have this issue, they do/did not. The closet overflew water into the hallway ruining our rug and bedroom carpet. They never even came to clean it up, asked if we had cleaned it up and if they could close the maintenance ticket. 3. We pay a pest control fee, yet there is always bugs and caterpillars crawling around in our apartment in the bathrooms and around the front door, some times around the windows as well. 4. When we first signed the lease our original apartment was not ready. They put us in a similar but smaller temp apartment and when it was time to move did not offer to help move or pay for the moving expenses. Movers and truck. They did offer us a garage for storage on the other side of the community thought, jeeeee thanks! 5. Because we lived at two different addresses instead of a 16 month lease we had to do a 17 month lease. 1 month for the temporary, 16 months for the full term. They found some loophole in the contract that forced us to stay the extra month and the first month at the temporary apartment did not count. Remember this is because our full time place was not ready because they had delayed the renovation. Nothing we had control over. 6. Because we lived at two separate addresses they had charged us for both the apartments utilities for the first 4 months of living in the residence. I have sent countless emails and stopped by the office to talk with someone about this. I have received no emails back and I always get "the correct person in charge is not in the office today" run around. 7. They do not have individual emails. The give you mailers to reach out to so you never know who you are actually working with on the rare occasion someone answers your email. 8. The portal has a residence board. When you or anyone post any comments or concerns they never actually display. 9. The dog parks are always out of doggy poop bags. They also never had the grass cut or the mulch replenished.
I have lived here for almost 4 years. I like the neighborhood and no crime which is nice. I like that it is a gated community, but cars can follow right behind you to get in the complex. Theres a sign that says one car at a time, but I have seen at least 3 go through at once. The playground is very small and the nature walk is less than 5 minutes long. It goes past the playground up to the mail center and that's it. If your single or a couple this would be a good place to live.
Not thrilled with management or the way they deal with problems. They have no desire to be friendly.
I have lived here for 7 years. It is quite and the tenants are very nice that live around me.The grounds are kept up very well and that is very important to me. There is a pool, tennis court, outside grills and benches to sit on. There is also a pet play area. Since the buildings are smoke free, the management have set up benches and ashtrays where you can smoke outside. The community is gated and alarm sensors are in all of the apartments.
Wow! Where do I start. I have lived here for 3 years and I love it. The maintenance staff are one of a kind. If I had a problem with my apartment the issue was fixed right away. Very quiet and safe area. If you have kids there is a wonderful playground. You can let your kids have the time of their life running wild. If you have a kid with four legs no problem there is a beautiful dog park ruff ruff. For all you grillmasters out there, they do have barbecue grills. Also, there is a car wash and vacuum area to keep you riding in style. Beautiful pool and a amazing gym so know need for a expensive gym membership. So if you can jump on board and move to Bridges at Wind river
