West Ashley sits within the city of Charleston and is west of the Ashley River, hence its name, and is the birthplace of Hootie & the Blowfish’s frontman, Darius Rucker. Lined with mossy oaks, the Ashley and Stono Rivers border West Ashley, creating the breathtaking scenery for which Charleston is known. West Ashley residents enjoy close proximity to the area's only indoor mall, the Citadel Mall, and a large number of big-box stores.
Situated seven miles due west of Downtown Charleston, residents can plan on a 15- to 30-minute drive, depending on traffic, to take in all downtown has to offer. Nearby Interstate 526, which feeds directly into Charleston’s Interstate Highway 26, gives residents a fast and easy route in and out of area. Mid- to late-1900s ranch-style homes characterize the housing in outer West Ashley, but neighborhoods built in the 2000s also sprinkle the area.

Property Ratings at The Lily
I moved out 8 months ago and I’m still trying to get my security deposit back. It took nearly 6 months for someone to answer the phone or email me back. The actual experience of living here is fine. Maintenance takes awhile (super short staffed) & no one cleans up their dogs poop. However, the fact that they are holding my money hostage is enough for me to recommend to you to not move here.

I have been in contact with the front office for a month about termites coming into my apartment through any crevice they can fit through (or chew through), including the air vents. I am always told they are going to get with the office manager and take care of it. I pretty much have to spend all of my time after the sun goes down checking for anything crawling on the walls and ceilings. Radius has already been on the news about the messed up water bills. I guess they love being in the spotlight, because that’s the next step.

In the beginning my experience was fine. However after time it wasn't all that. To start, in my two years there I paid a pest control fee and not once did anyone come and spray or did I see anyone on the property from any pest service. We paid for a valet trash service that would come every few days at times. ( We would put an additional trash bag outside given they never came the day before ) We received multiple emails stating that we could be fined. The breezeways were always covered in dead bugs that at times would end up in the apartment front door entry. Upon signing the lease we were told we would be given a first floor apartment. A few days prior to move in they called and told us we were being moved to the top floor. ( There is no elevator) The maintence crew typically took a few days to come. After each lease the rent kept increasing and increasing. In one week there was a shooting right outside in the parking lot, my truck was broken into and also my motorcycle was stolen ( all within about 3 days ) After finding a house I emailed the facility multiple times to discuss moving out early. After a few weeks with no response I called and called.. finally after speaking with someone I was told a form needs to be signed and dropped off. At that point we had 60 days. My girlfriends dropped off the form in person and once I called to discuss they told us they never got that form. This pushed my move out date even further back. After speaking with the property manager she agreed to waive the early move out fee which alleviated some of my stress given at that point I was forced to pay rent at two places. The day of move out I sat at the office to drop off my keys and sign any forms for an hour and no one ever came. I had to make a trip a few days later to go drop off my keys. I was happy with the facility as a property however the staff made it very difficult at times... especially the move out process. You get what you pay for. The location is great however it is right off 61 but over time my experience became more and more frustrating at that location. The apartment itself was in great condition, brand new appliances.

absolutely worst living experience I've ever had. firstly, they do not respond to maintenance requests whatsoever. I have put in 2 very urgent requests and I ended up having to call the property manager to have them come and fix them. they also raise your rent about $100 every year. in 2020, during covid when my lease was to be resigned they had all of the amenities shut down and yet they still raised the prices on the rent by $100. no one in the office answers the phone regardless of the importance of the matter. I highly recommend not living here.

I have been a resident for 3 months and my car was one of many cars that were broken in to. This happened in the middle of the day. They stole the radio out of my car and had to use tools to get it out. It’s not a big property but having cameras just might help. I’ve lost sleep over this and don’t feel safe.

This is our 2nd year here and our last! We lived a whole year with our patio furniture on the porch and there was no problems but after new manager, new company and some renovations came an increase in rent and these eroneous charges! I got sent an email saying we were in violation and was being charged $50 for having furniture on the porch. I called and spw new manager Crystal whom was very rude and even continued to speak over me, but after challenging the newsletter announcement being the notice given to their tenants was not a sufficient since it’s no law that says I must read the newsletter, she then removed the charges. Now Again we are charges for my husband placing a chair out to go out and smoke and me putting my plant out for some air and sunlight. This is ridiculous but even more ridiculous when my husband went to explain why he couldnt manage to get chair back in and waswaiting on his family to come assist him in bringing the chair back in. He was told that we don’t pay for outside our door just from the door in. So $50 again we are charged! This is petty and just down right crazy! No I would never reccommend these apartments to anyone. Is this how she gets bonuses?? Not a good way to retain tenants but a good way to get them gone!

I've lived at 5 different apartment complexes in the past 10 years. It has always been a fight to get maintenance requests processed and issues resolved at every place I've lived- until Woodbridge. It's amazing how quickly things get done around here. Every issue I've had has been resolved within 24 business hours. This morning, I realized the air conditioner was not working and the temperature in my apartment was well over 80 degrees. I put in a request online and within hours, someone came to check out the problem. It took a total of 3 hours and the air conditioner was in perfect condition again. I can't say enough good things about the maintenance team. I've also had great experiences with Janet, the Assistant Property Manager. She's very friendly, helpful, and intelligent. She's wonderful at listening to concerns and solving problems quickly. Other positives: I never hear loud noises or disturbances from my neighbors, I can always find a parking spot, the parking lot is well lit, the electric and water bills are always reasonable. Some small negatives: The gym is tiny with very few working machines, and the laundry center is small and not well taken care of. Several of the washing and drying units are out of order every time I go.

It has been 3 years living in this community and I must say I do really enjoy it here. The location is fantastic, close to all shopping, schools and entertainment. Office staff is one of the best that I had a pleasure to deal with so far. Peggy, property manager, always has a smile on her face, Janet always helpful with any concerns I have and the maintenance staff is always busy cleaning, repairing and taking care of the property. It is also very affordable to rent and pet friendly. Definitely recommend!

Hello, and thank you for the five star review! We value your feedback as it helps us in our efforts to provide the best living experience. We'll be sure to share this feedback with our entire team. Meantime, if there's anything you need, please let us know. Thank you gain!
These are older buildings but have been extremely well maintained and had renovations through the years. Being a bit older the insulation is far superior. I never hear a PEEP from neighbors. My electricity bills are the lowest I have ever had in my life. New windows too for better insulation and security. It could use a few touch ups in exterior paint here and there, and inside you can see some area where the building has settled through the years, but again, quick to repair those and barely noticeable. Over all I just love living here, I feel safe, secure, have no plans on moving for a very long time, if even ever. I always recommend and brag to people about all aspects.
Two bedrooms, two bathrooms. Great layout. Quiet building. Great office and maintenance staff.

We love it here. We moved in 3 years ago and have no plans to leave. For an included-in-rent fee, they collect your trash ever night of the week (you merely put it on the trash can outside your door). They also have a great maintenance staff that comes out pretty quickly when needed. The closets are HUGE and the AC systems are pretty new and big, so it stays cold in our apartment without a ridiculous power bill (we stay around $80 except in the summer). The only negatives are the water bill isn't included in rent and they charge 5% of the buildings entire fee to you. Also, parking is horrific and if you have to park behind the 200 building, you have to walk across an unlit, dark field. Other than that I have no other complaints. *knock on wood* little to no bugs, as well. I'm deathy afraid of them, so I literally keep count. Zero this year. I adore the front office staff, too. Definately worth the few negatives for the hundreds of positives!
