The location is unbeatable and the management team is awesome. The apartment layouts are so cute and industrial for a great price point.

I love the location and amenities, however, I hear the AC/Heating unit on top of my apartment and it is so incredibly loud. It is so loud my furniture vibrates. Once this is resolved I will be happy to rate everything as excellent.

Specifically for the work order process and response, i’m extremely satisfied to the response time and the excellent service provided.

Life at The Locks has been a great experience so far. We moved from outside the US and the ease of the experience to getting everything set up to the actual move in was amazing! We hope to be able to spend more time within the community and experience the amenities more but the location and its proximity to all the beautiful walking trails has really helped us acclimate to the area.

So far, living at the locks has been pretty great! After moving in and having a few work orders completed, my apartment is like new and very nice! I love the amenities and the location by the river, right on the canal walk.

My Apartment at The Locks truly felt like home starting day one. Leasing was easy and streamlined, move in day was organized, and management puts in a lot of effort bring a sense of community to the property.

Buildings are beautiful and well-kept. Maintenance is top notch! Office staff are amazing and so helpful! Love the area. close to the canal walk and Shockhoe bottom. Highly recommend! We've lived here since 2021 and have had the best experience.

I have lived here for approx 1 year now and I immediately already renewed my lease for another year. Great complex with good facilities and staff. They are very responsive. Also great proximity to VCU and great walking trails. highly recommend

I really love living here. You can tell that the staff really cares. They are always putting on events which really makes you feel at home/like you are apart of a community. The cleaning staff is always cleaning, the trash fairies service is a luxury I didn't know I needed. I feel very safe walking around at night/in the garage. The building is secure and are well maintained. I love living next to the canal and near Casa Del Barco. I loved this place so much I recommended that my best friend live here! One rec: Fixing the awful noise from the parking garage door. It's SO loud. And would love some updated equipment in the gym :)

I've lived at the Locks for 1 year. The management and maintenance staff are so polite and welcoming. The manager of the complex, Chase, is always open to our questions & host great events. Our puppy loves the area because their are so many areas for dogs to play and explore. The location is my favorite because I love to take daily walks around the community. We currently have a one bedroom w/ a large walk in space (we call our game room) that accommodates our needs very much.

The locks apartment complex is situated in the best location in Richmond, a perfect combination of downtown access and relaxation on the river/canal/park environment. The cleaning, maintenance, and leasing staff have also all been fantastic. Overall, it is a great place to live and the first lease I will be renewing.

I've been here for 3 weeks now and I love this place. We have an interior apartment in the White Byrd building and the noise level is great. Occasionally we might hear the neighbors - a rowdy weekend gathering or their dogs nails on the floor, but the walls aren't as thin as what I imagined from an apartment situation. We hear absolutely no street noise, the occasional siren and planes, and the train whistle can be heard faintly at times. Parking is relatively easy, I pay for the garage parking which can be tricky working late hours but ive never had to go any higher than the 3rd level of the deck and the open spaces are right by the stairwell. Its definitely worth the additional fee, the spaces in front of the building are always packed full by the end of the night and there's no public parking anywhere closer. The staff here are amazing, trash pick up is always on schedule, the cleaning crew are in frequently, and the maintenance is so fast and efficient. I cannot speak highly enough of Hailey from the leasing office, she was so patient during our application and leasing process with my many many questions and helped me find the space that was perfect for what I needed.

The Locks Apartments is a great place to live and I love that it's not a cookie-cutter community. The property is unique and there are so many different floor plans. It's convenient to downtown, Shockoe Slip, Shockoe Bottom, and Manchester. The vibe here is great, with the old warehouse buildings nestled between the tall downtown buildings and the James River. The staff is office professional, and they are very good at what they do. The maintenance staff is attentive, and things are typically handled right away. The property is clean and very well-maintained.

I was looking for a clean, affordable, trendy apartment in the city. I found it here at the Locks!

I have been a resident of the locks for 3.5 years and I am sad to be leaving. The Locks has by far been the best place I've ever rented from. Everyone is super accommodating, maintenance requests are addressed promptly, and the quality of my apartment and the community are at the standard I'm paying for. The community is very solid and I keep in touch with my neighbors who have moved because it's so close-knit. I will miss the Locks dearly and they will be the first on my list to call if I return to RVA.

Smacked right in the middle of Shockoe Bottom and the James River. The Locks is arguably the best place to live in Downtown Richmond. With modern amenities and an attentive friendly staff, The Locks Apartments is a great place to live.

Great location. Unique floor plans. Quiet. Service department responds quickly and resolve issues effectively. Office personnel takes care of all your property needs and requests.

We're so happy we moved in to The Locks. The location is incredible, especially the proximity to the Canal and all the restaurants and bars we love downtown. Parking is pretty steep, and there is definitely a lack of guest parking, but it could be worse. The building and amenities are always clean and inviting.

This location is fantastic. The size of our apartment is good for the price. I feel safe walking around this community alone at night. Those are the positives. The negatives: The apartment has spiders... very large and very numerous. I asked for extermination, and I still have spiders. The dishwasher smells like a moldy towel. I have run 'Finish' through it 3 times and I cleaned the filter. I logged a maintenance ticket and they replaced the motor. My dishwasher still smells like a moldy towel. The icing on the cake? This morning, I stepped on a cockroach while getting dog food out of the pantry. Barefoot. I submitted yet another maintenance ticket and called the emergency maintenance number. No response - and I still have roaches. I haven't lived in an apartment for about 20 years, so I'm not sure what's "normal" anymore. Palm-sized spiders, disgusting dishwashers, and ROACHES -- normal???

The apartment community is located in a great part of Richmond. The amenities are very nice and Stephanie from the leasing office made everything so easy for me to move in. My one piece of advise for everyone, check EVERYTHING in the apartment before moving in. I had a good amount of issues that needed to be addressed, but so do most apartments before moving in. Overall, its a nice apartment and the leasing office is absolutely wonderful which in my opinion, makes it worth it.

From the very start of the tour, we fell in love with The Locks! Our leasing representative was extremely professional & knowledgeable. She really listen to what we wanted in a living space & showed us options. We could had went with any of the units she showed us! Since moving in, weve had a great experience! From Stephanie & other team members checking on us, answering questions with professionalism at the core of their answers. It truly has been a seamless move on their end, no hidden cost/fees, which is always nice so no surprises on our end.

Great community, excellent staff, and great location!

We love the Locks! First, we love being in the heart of downtown Richmond. We are walkable distance from work, nature, nightlife, and restaurants, but away from chaos. Second, our Maintenance Team provides exceptional service as they are always here within hours of the work order and ready to assist. Lastly, amenities, amenities, amenities! On the weekend, I can lounge by the pool and drop into Casa del Barco for a drink.

The Locks is a great apartment community for those who enjoy an urban downtown life. The James River and Canal Walk are your backyard.

Great apartment with excellent amenities. Very clean. Area feels safe and is a short walk to downtown. Great running path along the James River nearby.

There are definitely improvements to be made but this has been the best place I have ever lived. Mostly the management company is easy to work with which I feel is the biggest assetwhen renting a property with a location and amenities like The Locks

Even during COVID19 the Locks provided me with the easiest move in. I am so thankful that they were able to help me and easy any worries I had about moving at this time!

While new apartment complexes pop up all around Richmond, The Locks continues to offer the coveted converted warehouse experience along with well kept amenities all in an unbeatable location. New isn't always better. The community has been very well maintained and I sometimes feel like I'm staying at a resort.
