Property Ratings at The Lodge at Madrona
Despite initial hopes for a good apartment, my roommate and I faced numerous issues upon moving in: delays, smoke smell, damaged fixtures, and more. Despite promises, most problems went unfixed. Management mishandled communication and emergencies, like floods and break-ins, leaving us feeling unsafe and dissatisfied. Avoid this poorly managed complex.
I wouldn't move here unless you absolutely have to. As this being my first apartment, the staff was really friendly and helpful in answering all of my questions. However, I failed to ask about fees while living in this apartment, which was something I really should have done because as of now, my boyfriend and I are paying $67/mo for trash, and $68/mo for sewer for two people who don't really use either of those things. From my understanding, these are shared bills with the entire community, so that means that it doesn't matter how many mattresses are being dumped into the dumpster by people who I am fairly sure don't even live here, we still have to pay for it. The apartments also get extremely cold during the winter and extremely hot during the summer due to gaps between the doors and the flooring, and bad sealings on the windows. On top of that, the dog park is poorly maintained. I have encountered at least two homeless people there, have found glass and other sharp objects on the ground, and people have made holes in the fence to sneak into the park. My dog has escaped through said holes twice. I even have called management about a homeless person making me uncomfortable in the dog park. They said they would handle it right away, but even after waiting thirty minutes, nobody showed up and the man was still there. Instead, I saw management riding in their golf carts to go do something else. Obviously safety isn't a priority here. Speaking of safety, my car has been broken into once, I have found used needles by my car, and just today I found a man slumped coming off of a high in his car right out front of my apartment. I have only lived here for about 6 months but have seen countless police and firemen visit. I have even seen a standoff where the police had to use a megaphone to tell someone to come out of the building. I am so uncomfortable living here and would not recommend to anyone else.
Shawna was amazing through the hole process of moving in a year ago and moving out now. The rest of the office staff equally amazing!! Lodge at Madrona is TLGBQ FRIENDLY!!!????????
Moving is a stressful activity. My leasing agent Danielle and all the other fantastic staff members to include Shawna are awesome; they have amazing personalities. They made the process seamless. After calling around to several locations the comaradey was the leveraging point. Location is amazing. Hidden, private and elevated. Located near the busline, baseball stadium, Chambers Bay, Freeway, Full-service Grocery Store(s), Vet Center, Sunset Zip-line Park, TCC and any other store or community service you might need. Cental Tacoma with easy access to University Place and Fircrest. The complex is aesthetically pleasing. The units have washer/dryers; they are wide open and bright. I love the updated flooring and layout. There is a community car wash, pool, playground, cafe and residents complex with a gym. I understand this is one of the few that allow larger dog breeds and maybe the only with a large off leash dog park. I think it is great to have this option although I do not have a dog. I might want one in the future. I noticed that there are some reviews or concerns about the dog poop. I myself am a stickler. I have been an owner in the past and was very vigilant. If this does develop to be an issue my suggestion would request the resident's Council to include a $5 increase(dog owners) towards a part-time disposal manager and adding pathway cameras to deter future use. The other issue I see in this thread is deposit. As a global citizen with a military background...Here is my suggestion if you would like it: Exactly how you moved in...must be exactly how you move out. Professional cleaning and a paint touch up with a year lease. What you really want to know* The Lodge at Modrona is now backed by a long standing local real estate company invested in community development. We are growing here in Tacoma there is no doubt. This is a team of passionate people who are more than willing to help stabilize your housing during this shift. They are assuring and will support you through the approval process & moving in comfortably. Everyone has different reasons on why they may want to rent. My goal was to find a engaging community where I can grow professionally while working on all the details that lead to home ownership. I'm thankful to have found that.????
A very friendly and I would recommend to family and friends
I love this place for myself and my children and any other individual or family. The maintenance and front office are very catering and helful of any maintenance requests or any other help i ask of as far as my apartment and other office needs. The Lodge at Madrona is a great place to be! I love the staff, honestly! Sarah Truitt
Convenient location, the gym is nice... but other than that there aren't really any other "amenities".
I would point out which buildings I see as "problematic" whether it is parking or sun exposure.
Price increase makes it difficult to justify. Beautiful property and convenient location, though. Great amenities!
Honestly, find a different place to call home. My experience was horrible form the day I moved in until after I moved out. At first, price listed online did not match the actual price for the unit. Second, I had 3 water leaks in just one year alone. At one point one of the appliances broke and I couldn't use my kitchen, it took them over 2 weeks to come in and fix it, and fixating it only took 1 minute. The staff is rude. Dog poop everywhere. Garbage overflows more often then I'd like to see it. Like I said, just find a better place. You'll just get really frustrated here. I wish I never chose this place.
I would recommend this apartment to anyone cause of how it?s maintained. Starting front the office and towards the entire property.
Overall it's a decent place to live. I feel the rent is a bit high for what I got. I considered looking at a 1 bedroom there, but after I was told how much, I did not consider it and found a great place elsewhere.
When I came in the front doors I was greeted by Olivia (the lodge at Madrona) she was professional, knowledgeable, kind and very pleasant to be around. I hope to be a resident here in the very near future .
I would definitely recommend this apartment community. I felt that my needs were satisfied 100 percent as a tenant and as well as my maintnence needs. I am very appreciative of James as well as the rest of the guys on the maintenance team at the Lodge at Madrona. I am also very appreciative of all the ladies and staff at and in office in the leasing office at the Lodge at Madrona. Thank you, You're all very appreicated.
Ok they lie. The only thing renovated in june 2018 is the cabana. This place sits above the city dump. There is no assigned parking in fact good luck finding an open space anywhere when you come home at night. They have a 35 dollar covered space option HOWEVER they are all full and you will end up with one 4 buildings up from your own. They never answer the phone unless they have something to discuss. They do not return calls. Work orders for plumbing and electrical issues take days or weeks. This place is full of lies. And there is a lot of car vandalism and crime in the complex. Tweekers galore. Garbage everywhere . dog poop everwhere. Dont waste the time or money.
YES
I would because of the friendliness of the staff. I?m not sure how genuine the staff was actually being but that was nice. I wouldn?t because the show apartment is tacky and does not reflect the price, especially since the property didn?t care to replace the mirror in the bathroom that was all picked at and damaged
I love how I was treated by the staff and them going above and beyond with me and my move in.
Rent is really expensive for a one bed room apartment but the community slightly makes up for it
The parking of expired license plates and non working vehicles taking up spaces is getting out of hand. Towing of broken down cars is not enforced. It isn't fair to other remnants. Perhaps section off area in storage for these cars and charge them storage fees. These cars are not being worked on, just sitting there.

I'm not sure I would be able to recommend based on the neighbors I have who litter and make noise that is oblivious to others. But the office staff is great! Thank You.
It?s absolutely perfect for my husband and I with our two kids. The neighborhood is quiet and has so many fun things to do.
I appreciate the dog friendly nature of the community and that I feel safe living here. PLEASE get recycling facilities though!!
I feel that the Lodge at Madrona is a really great and stable place to live, very family oriented, and has lots of kids. Some of my neighbors have been causing me a few issues but again that is not at the fault of the apartment complex.
Moved out and broke lease early to purchase a home. After paying a substantial ($2250) move out lease break fee....they charged us another $705 move out and cleaning fee??? We tried to be reasonable after our move in went so terrible! We couldn’t wait to leave....management sent us to collections after less than a month of dialogue about reduction of extra fees....this place is crooked and we would never recommend this retched place....STAY AWAY!
I would recommend if someone was just looking for some place on the quiet side. However, rent is on the high side and I believe the water, sewer, garbage is extremely high. The compactor/trash area is always gross. The pet waste stations will run out of bags and take weeks to re-fill and the pet waste garbage cans aren't emptied often enough and by the looks of it, hardly anyone picks up after their pets. Very frustrating. Not to mention in the year I've lived here I have not been able to use the cabana but maybe twice.
Periodic overflow on dumpsters not attractive ! Better lighting is needed on walkways. Location has great access to everything I need.
Youll notice that other site give this apartment complex or more stars. This is false. They also rebranded because of their poor management from madrona pointe to "the lodge at madrona pointe". Theres a long list of what I have experienced negatively with this complex. But what I do enjoy is. 1. Pet play ground 2. Scenery and location 3. Security patrol My negative experience: 1. No one answers the phone in the office. Or if they do I have to call more than 5 times for someone to pick up. 2. I had water damage in the bathroom that took 2 months to fix. 3. I had water damage and fungus growing on my window sill. Called maintenance. They came out, cut the fungus and then did nothing else. After this, I was so fed up with the back and forth and lack of management or care for tenants that I stopped calling. 4. The appliances are low quality for the amount I pay for. Low quality apartment in general. 5. I was charged an EXTRA 700 ON TOP of my rent because my card didnt go through and I wasnt aware. 6. The price fluctuates monthly with no prior explanation. I found out that they add water and sewage now but why not inform the customers WHO PAY? 7. Miss a payment? We wont take an online payment, they take a money order and make it more inconvenient for you and lock your account. 8. Prior apartment damage. They did not prepare the apartment correctly for a new tenant. 9. Easily to jump to evict you. I reccomend NOT DOING BUSINESS HERE. This is pure experience and opinion for future residents :) Thank you,
My fiancé rent from them before he moved in with me. They are horrible. His stove went out and it would take them forever to get out and fix it and then they would fix it and it would break the next day. The apartment complex was horrible to get to do anything and then they refused to help at all when we moved out. They did not forward his utility bill and now we have to pay $100 dollars more to collections because they never have them the forwarding address that he left with the apartment complex. They will also rent each year by 100 dollars so be ready to pay more each year! Horrible place to rent!
I have recommended my grand daughter moved in and they were told could move in on 30th but apartment wasn't ready nothing but problems for them
The location and privacy is great. Parking isn't too great with the construction at main lobby. But it is a temp event. I haven't had any crime issues.
The view is amazing, the residents are nice, office personnel are hard working, amenities are great, and the apartments are kept to a great standard.
Knowing family and friends, renting here, would make a more safe and friendly place to live. Yes I will definitely recommend them.
The inside of the apartment is nice, it's quiet, appealing to the eye, not run down looking, accepts the housing voucher
I feel that the community is shifting and fixing a lot of issues I personally ran into. Speaking with a few others about the property I do feel that a Lo t is changing for the better. I feel like it's ok for the cost
I would not recommend it for someone that requires that the fridge be in very good conditions, and the trash area could be bigger or the neighbors could break down boxes, which they do not on a regular, having trash pile up a lot around Sunday/Monday on the trash area.
As it slowly improves, yes I would but they still have to come up with a system for resident parking, especially when some residents have visitors on the weekends, some residents are left with having to park at heir vehicles way on the othe side of complex where it is in more likely to be vandalized or broken into at current time..
I visited my daughter at this apartment and I saw lots of cig butts, office never take action on this. And lots of dog pops...I hate this apartment, office never listen to their customers complaints.
We rented this apartment sight unseen from website as we lived out of state. We were unable to see actual apartment until we signed lease and paid our monies. This place is disgusting! The brochure is 30 years old. I've been told they have a few nice apartments but many dumpy ones. When we moved in they were supposedly finishing up fixing it. We were put off for a week to move in because of this. We had a dishwasher without a way to close it. The sink counter chipped and black spots on it. Plugged sink and bath tub. Cracks in walls. Balcony covered with blck mold and the rail has big chuncks out of it. We cant open our windows because the smell of dog urine is so strong. We pay 975. to live in a nasty smelly apartment. They put us next to the only dumpster{for 500 units} and everyone brings their dogs behind our unit to do their business. 2 worthless maintenece guys who are sitting in office more than working.I sent a 7 page letter to corporate and never was responded too. We have been here 3 months and I have given up on getting anything done. Just waiting till our lease is up to get out of here. I WISHED i HAD PAID ATTENTION TO THE BAD REVIEWS!
I enjoy the conveniences offered at Madrona Pointe. The staff are friendly. I believe Madrona Pointe is nicer and located in a fairly decent area comparable to other apartments within my budget.
