Lakeland’s laidback atmosphere is complemented by its close proximity to countless metropolitan attractions, sitting within 45 minutes’ driving distance from Tampa and about an hour’s drive from Orlando.
Lakeland is comprised of numerous historic districts and Old Florida-style neighborhoods as well as more modern residential communities. The cost of living in Lakeland is quite affordable, boasting an array of rental homes and apartments that fit a variety of budgets. The cityscape is full of beautifully preserved historic architecture and the Florida Southern College campus is home to a world-famous collective of Frank Lloyd Wright designs.
Lakeland’s vibrant offerings range from MLB spring training games at Joker Merchant Stadium to the vast art collection at the Polk Museum.

Property Ratings at The Lodge at Woodlake
I am a current resident and I have been living here for over a year. Jennifer truly treats her residents like family. Hurricane Milton hit us hard this week. And caused some damage to my unit . Jennifer called me to check on me from her personal phone. As soon as the storm was over, she provided us with a new unit .She was fast and efficient. I was overwhelmed and crying tears of joy. She truly saved my daughter and I. It’s truly a blessing to have a Property manager like her. There was also other staff who came to lend a helping hand to all of the residents here who needed it. God is truly good. I highly recommend this property . Thank you from Nefertiti
I've lived in Lakeland for most of my life- I've been blessed to spend many of my adult years, in this apartment complex. (I have several family members that have lived here as well; I am familiar with all of the floor plans and love them all.) The maintenance team and leasing staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The grounds are always kept neat and tidy. As a veteran tenant, I'd most definitely recommend the Lodge at Woodlake.

Thank you for the great review, and the 5 STARS, we appreciate the kind words!
Very poor experience. Wasted too many years here and it was subpar but overlooked it for cheap rent. Recently rent has gone up outrageously but maintenance is not up kept. After four A/C failures in one year found mold all over my personal stuff in 4 different locations. The manager, Jennifer stated it was dust and I just didn’t clean well. They got their own mold company to agree with them and help make me seem crazy. But no samples taken or test ran. Jennifer told me I could move back in since i was staying with a friend. She said i just needed to clean. I was Forced to move out and found mold behind a book shelves and pictures on the wall. Only then did they agree to give me back my rent and deposit but have not released the mold test. I urge you, RUN! Patio also floods when it rains. Laundry room is often closed due to machines not working and no one is allowed to have laundry hookups in apartment units. Key fob for gym, pool and laundry room often stop working and can’t obtain access. Maintenance doesn’t have enough help and is over run. If I could post photos I’d show the mod and the flooded patio I could never use.

Thank you for the review - we inspected your unit fully and did find that it was not a mold issue but you must run your AC. We understood your frustration and happily allowed you to be released from your unit with no fees or damages. Additionally, someone else has been living in this unit for months and has had NO issues, whatsoever. We truly wish you all the best in your future homes.
I have been calling the front office for a month trying to inquire about availability. It is always an automated message that tells us to leave a message. Then someone texts you and basically tells you the exact same thing as the automated message. I even went in person around 11:30 or 12pm and there was sign that said “Lunch break. Back at 2:30pm”. Two and a half hour lunch break? It seems like you have go jump through crazy hoops in order to just speak with someone. Prices are good considering other places. But they won’t let you tour their available units, saying it’s unavailable. No matter the price if I can’t meet face to face with someone or tour in person a possible unit then it’s just comes of as untrustworthy. Still willing to speak to someone, but so far it has been a poor experience.
This team goes above and beyond. Work orders are done in record time. the office staff is so helpful. The Manger Jennifer will go above any one I have come across, she is out on property greeting everyone with a smile, and truly recalls pass conversation making sure she cared about other than just her job.

Thank you so much - we are so happy that you are happy!
There was always a problem i couldn't get my finger on and now I have. I misplaced the only keyfob my households had for years last weekend only for it to be found and I get told that I hadn't been using it to justify charging my household for a new one; office manager's really wishee washee so she can be nice/accommodating one day but something else the next and is why I no longer plan to visit the office, you never know who you're getting.
With the new management and the new maintenance crew i give this community 5 star rate everything here is perfect.
If I could give these apartments 0 stars I would. They are completely bug ridden and mold grows everywhere. The water damage that has happened through the years was never fixed and as a result, the mold growing on the ceilings and even walls made my family and I very sick. There was problems with our air conditioning that they kept resolving with a "quick fix" and when it finally went out for good it was somehow our fault. It took 2 WEEKS in the middle of summer for them to get the part to fix our air, and after asking for 5 days straight for a portable air conditioner, we finally got one. The office staff is fairly nice but the maintenance staff is very unprofessional. I would not recommend The Lodge at Woodlake to anyone!
Do not waste your time, money, and sanity dealing with this place.
If I could rate this place any lower I would. I’ve learned a lot through the mistake of living here. I was in a bind when a house I was going to buy fell through due to the inspection. The place is just not well taken care of. The buildings are old and they are falling apart. My air conditioner has broken 4 times in the first 5 months I lived there. My refridgerator also broke, my dishwasher is garbage, my stove grates are uneven and the entrance to my apartment has stained carpets and a broken front door. The laundry machines in their laundry mat are constantly going down. I’ve had a brawl of ten people breakout in front of my apartment and there are people sleeping on patios. The walls are also ultra thin. I can hear my neighbors tv through the wall. The person below me had flooding in their apartment. They were not warned of the flooding threat and her possessions were ruined. The property is an eye sore as well. Garbage is all over the ground in front of the dumpsters and large items are just thrown in a garbage pit right in front of the apartments. It is like a revolving door of Maintenence workers. They charge entirely too much for what these apartments offer. Think twice before signing a lease.
It has been so peaceful since I moved in to these apartments. In 15 minutes or less you can get to Publix, Walmart, Restaurants, Lakeland Square Mall, I-4, etc. Also the amenities are great and the apartments are very spacious.
I have been here for almost a year and what I like the most of my apartment is the screened patios and spacious kitchen. The new upgraded units of the community are very nice and affordable. I work around the clock and sometimes I can't make it to the leasing office to pay my rent but thankfully they have so many options of payment.
The most I liked about these apartments is that they are away from the noise of busy streets, nature and lake views from your screened in patio or balcony. This made me feel safe and part of a community. Also has a very helpful and amazing staff. If you have a problem within the apartment, one phone call and they are there to solve it. I'm going on my 2nd year with them and plan on staying. I couldn't be happier. It’s close to the interstate, shopping, downtown, South East University, hospital, etc. The have the best school zone too.
I have lived in this complex for 10 years and have to move because I can no longer afford to stay there. Although they are making upgrades, it is not to the apartments themselves. The windows are not efficient at keeping hot or cold air out and the air ducts have not been serviced or cleaned since they were installed. It is true what the other comments say; they do charge for everything and when asked about them they give you the run around. They take my money for the water bill but will not give me the formula they use or show me how they come up with the amount which changes from month to month. This raises a red flag for me. I feel if they are going to take my money they should be able to show me how they come up with the amount because they could be ripping me off. The fact that they won't show me raises my suspicion that they are ripping me off. Unprofessional comes to mind. They enter the apartment but do not leave a notice that they were in your home and why. Even if it is for requested maintenance, a notice should be left on the door saying when they entered, what they did and when they left. The buildings have a serious ant problem. Infestation comes to mind. The plumbing isn't the best either. The sinks are continuously backed up. The location is great! Several parks are within walking distance. There wasn't much crime in the 10 years I lived there. The school zone is also very good. Cleveland Court is an excellent school for elementary children.
I've lived here since the new management took over and am happy. They've been renovating the property and have made it very enjoyable to live in. There have been plenty of positive changes for the residents as a whole. Management has been very polite and helpful through the whole process and make themselves available whenever I come by to talk. I love it here!
They over change you for everything and then when you bring it up they basically tell you it's not their problem the staff is very rude o wouldn't recommend this place to anyone
I can't wait to get out of my lease and move out of these apartments. They no longer accept cash, checks, or money orders. When you go to their webite to pay your rent there are convenience fees and a "large transaction fee" that total to $35. It is ridiculous that you have to pay $35 in order to pay your rent. You are not allowed to have a grill. The landlord is never there and every time I have a complaint I have to tell the secretary. They left a sign on my door that they were going to turn my water off on a Wednesday. However they turned it off on Thursday and Friday without any notice to the residents. The apartment supplies residents with air conditioner filters but have never had the correct size and always give me one and tell me to make it work. They do not like to fix anything even though they are building a new office for the staff. I have a sheet of plywood as a wall in my bathroom and there is no plan to fix it. There are three dumpsters right outside my front door. The entire complex has to put their trash right outside my door. My neighbors and I have complained numerous times about the stench from all the dumpsters. They told us they will eventually build a wall around it but that is not going to help the odor. There was a fitness center here but was closed over a year ago for upgrades and never reopened. I would never recomend this apartment to anyone. I hate that I have to give The Lodge at Woodlake one star because that is overrating this place.
The people managing these properties can not do their jobs, plain and simple. Everything is either broken, under repair, or "being upgraded". The Fitness Center has been closed over a year, with promises a new and better one is coming. Just today, they cut the water to every apartment for "repairs" even though the notices they posted stated that was going to happen yesterday. When I finally got a hold of an "emergency" maintenance person, he just shrugged, said " not my problem" and kept walking away. And when you talk to them about a problem, they just say "I understand" over and over again and nothing gets done about the problem. For these prices, there should be these kinds of headaches and hassles from the staff.
