Situated at the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Central Virginia, Charlottesville is a fiercely modern city with a reverence for the past. Two United States presidents called Charlottesville home, Thomas Jefferson and James Monroe. Thomas Jefferson designed Monticello and the University of Virginia, both of which are now UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Adjacent to Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello is James Monroe’s Ash Lawn-Highland, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Charlottesville also houses the largest collection of Aboriginal art outside of Australia, the Kluge-Ruhe Aboriginal Art Collection at the University of Virginia. The Jefferson Theater, the Paramount Theater, and a number of music venues in the downtown area host regular performances in Charlottesville, adding to the rich arts and cultural scene.

Property Ratings at The Lofts at Meadowcreek
I lived there for over a year and never had any issues whatsoever. Safe, quiet, clean, friendly and great location. Would recommend.
The loudest place we've ever lived. You'll regret living here if you value your sleep at all. It looks good, but that's the only plus.
These apartments are extremely cheap. They look great but you can hear everything your neighbors do. Your sleep schedule will be dependent upon those around you. The new (post march 2021) property manager does not care about the residents or the property. I'd avoid these apartments if possible.
I recently moved here from out of state and had been spoiled with abundant cheap new housing options. That is not easy to find in Charlottesville. I also had pretty high expectations for what I wanted (new units, in unit washer-dryer, dishwasher, central air, assigned parking, close to downtown, but not in it, quiet/safe neighborhood). Therefore I was pleasantly surprised when I stumbled across Lofts at Meadowcreek. The views from my unit are incredible, I enjoy waking up and watching the sunrise over the mountains from my home office while I work. Neighbors are either quiet/respectful or the units were built to dampen noise transfer, because I rarely hear anyone else. Management has been very helpful and responsive to requests. They have a great system in place for accepting/storing/securing packages with text notifications so that I never miss a delivery. Guest parking at the building is limited, but my guests have always been able to find free parking within a 3-5 minute walk when the buildings spots are full, so it hasn't been a major issue.
My husband and I moved from NYC last summer without being able to see the apartment - Stephen (manager) made this process as smooth as can be, always willing to answer questions and help. We loved our time at the Lofts! Beautiful apartment all around with super friendly, helpful, caring staff.
I moved to Charlottesville back in August 2020, and had no idea where I was going to live. I found this place, and over the course of 8 hours I introduced myself, applied for a lease, got approved and began moving in. Take it from someone who has lived in many apartments, you will not find a more attentive staff. I emailed Stephen that my smoke alarm was chirping, and within thirty minutes he was at my door, dropping off a replacement battery. The actual apartment is beautiful (I have a super nice view of the mountains from my window), and well built. Because the complex air condition and heat the hallways, I haven't had to turn on my A/C at all this year! The building itself is quite new, which means there are still some kinks to work out (parking can be inconvenient for guests), but the staff listens to the tenants, and have worked with us to try to find solutions. We are right next to Penn park for hikes and a short drive away from the downtown mall.
The apartments here are nice and spacious with amazing natural lighting. All the appliances are brand new and haven't had a single complaint about them. The only issues are the limited parking, but you are given fair warning before you sign your lease. The noise as well can be a bit loud from not the best insulation but it hasn't been anything you wouldn't get from another apartment here. The staff here are quick to respond and are so helpful. The leasing manager Stephen has been the best leasing agent I've ever had. It's been a really great place to call home during the quarantine.
I’ve enjoyed living at the Lofts! Of course people only tend to write reviews when they are upset but I have enjoyed my lease and time here so far. Management has done everything they can to make my time here better and is very quick to respond. I have not had a single issue with noise. The only issue I’ve had is with lack of parking but it is something that both the residents and management are seeking to fix.
Pros: - A ton of space and a balcony. - Just about everything is new or close to a year old. - Neighbors are very welcoming and willing to work with you. - Leasing office keeps you up to date. - Maintenance manager is quick and easy to work with. Cons: - Can be noisy (near a somewhat busy street), but generally sending a nice note to your neighbor fixes the problem. - generally one parking spot per apartment so, not a lot of parking (be careful quite a few people have been towed).
The Lofts at Meadowcreek is a fantastic complex and I would recommend it to friends and family without reserve. I'm sad to see such poor reviews - I feel these reviews completely misrepresent the offering and drastically mischaracterize management. Each dealing with management and maintenance was a pleasure; management and maintenance are active daily in addressing any and all needs across the complex. The Lofts is not a typical garden-style multifamily complex, and it isn't advertised as such. Few, if any, families with younger children live here. Tenants are younger professionals and with that comes a different style of community - it caters well to that lifestyle. The property itself is in excellent condition and the units do have luxury finishes that are both functional and stylish (not to mention covered parking!). Again, would recommend hands down.
Best apartment I've lived in so far. If you are looking for newly renovated apartment with friendly community this is the right place for you. The manager Stephen, together with Courtney, are willing to help you at all time. They are really trying to build up a friendly and comfortable community and to improve your living experience. The noise was controlled well and residents are always notified to keep quiet and respect others. I mean it is not the building's fault that some people are not respecting others. The apartment itself is great and I do have a great time living here. Comparing with apartments on Main street it's heaven in here.
We leased our 1st floor unit sight unseen in June 2020. Stephen, the property manager, made our move from out of state painless. He is very responsive, helpful and professional. The location cannot be beat. The property is modern, clean and well maintained. Size of the building is perfect - not too big, and the security features are excellent. Having a parking garage under the building is a big plus. The property has a nice walking path that is perfect for a stroll and exercising dogs. Many units have beautiful mountain views. Neighbors are all very friendly and generally quiet. We are very happy with our choice to move here and plan on staying a long time.
I am not sure why the negative reviews. The Lofts is a nice place to live; the apartments are well-designed. I find management to be responsive to concerns—even delivering packages to your door. I've had no problems with smokers or noise. The attitude seems to be one of working out any issues collaboratively as opposed to gratuitous rule enforcement. Parking is tight, but I've found the situation manageable. All in all, I would highly recommend.
Please don't spend your money here. Leasing agents does not care about residents. Each apartment comes out with 2-3 dogs and this entire complex only has one elevator so imagine the smell of that elevator....Walls were built horribly, ppl living below you will complain about everything, even turning on the dishwasher after dinner. I have not been living comfortably and honestly cant wait until my lease is over. .Smh, a lot of shadiness going on with management. This "luxury" apartment is not luxury in my opinion. So before looking into this place pls pls CHECK OUT OTHER OPTIONS!!!!
Do not lease here! TL:DR - You'll regret signing your lease immediately and also wonder why you made your decision. Apartments are extremely noisy and built poorly. Residents have 0 regard for people living beneath them. You'll hear passing traffic constantly. Smoking is an issue - including various other smokes. Detail - The apartment is built cheaply and the amenities are - well - sub par. If you leave your windows open, there's a good chance someone is smoking outside. There are numerous third floor residents who are extremely noisy so if you live on the 2nd floor, your master bedroom is most likely right under their stairs. So that means EVERY day you'll hear banging sounds and since most of the residents don't abide by 'quiet' hours, that means less sleep and peace of mind for you. Working From Home or studying for exams is a nightmare. Residents leave their dogs that howl daily and it's hard to concentrate when you have consistent random scraping and banging noises. I'm not being sensitive - it really is that loud. Furthermore, there's a 50 lb pet limit, but there's a dog the size of a great dane (an aggressive breed) that's allowed? The managing company seems keen to forget policies in order to lease up. Spend your hard earned money elsewhere - this apartment complex isn't worth it.
