Life in College Station pretty much revolves around Texas A&M University. The student body accounts for 60,000 people in a city of just over 100,000, and the university employs roughly 15% of the non-student population. The cultural impact of the university is tremendous, from the on-campus art, scholarly resources, and architecture to the thriving food, nightlife, and music scenes around town, and of course the exuberant Texas Aggies fandom.
Apartments and rental houses are available to suit every budget, from exceedingly affordable student rentals to more upscale homes. Parents will appreciate the vest selection of highly-rated public schools, and easy access to city parks gives everyone the opportunity to get out and enjoy the fresh air.

Property Ratings at The London
I'm honestly not sure how this apartment complex has gotten a 4.0 out of 5. The apartments are so old and run down. When we went for a viewing, their "showroom" apartment was nice and clean and although a little dated, it looked liked it had been remodeled. We have had nothing but unsolved problems since day one. Fire Alarms go off constantly, fire alarms fall down from the ceiling, took 4 weeks to get fixed; microwave trips the breaker at every use which makes 1/2 the apartment shut down power, can't get the light outside the door fixed (its a strobe light), the upkeep outside is horrible, dog poop areas are nasty, and nothing gets fixed because the apartment manager Andrea says they can't keep good maintenance guys. We put in work orders and they get marked completed when they do not get completed at all. Stay away from this complex. You will be happy you did.

RUN… The apartments are NOTHING like the models you tour. The management/ maintenance and front staff is AWFUl. Upon move in apartment was FILTHY. So many things broken/ carpet stained and torn up and the AC has been broken a week. Please move elsewhere

Please contact us directly so we can address these issues and help resolve any concerns, including the AC and maintenance. We’d like the opportunity to improve your experience.
When I lived there it was cheap but you got what you paid for so I couldn't complain but they repainted all the building and began charging a lot more, the inside is still just as crappy so they are not worth what they are charging nowadays.
They take advantage of the tenants when returning the property, damages that were already present were charged in full. They also charge $100 to dispose a chair that was already in the unit when moved in.
Units are incredibly gross, nothing works. Like the kitchen light wasn't even working and I had to cook using a headlamp. Mirror was broken. Dressers were falling apart. Then on top of it, the AC doesn't work and it's the dustiest place I've ever lived. Utility bills are through the roof, which doesn't make sense. This place is the worst. Never would wish this place upon my worst enemy.

Hi, there. This is not at all the kind of experience we want any resident to have and apologize for any issues you faced. Please contact us directly and let us know what we can do to improve your time here. -Team London
Everything about this place is terrible. The sample room they show you looks nothing like the actual apartments. They are all falling apart in actuality. Rooms are usually covered in mold/mildew, lights and furniture don't work, dustiest place ever, plumbing and heating is hardly livable. The management is incredibly rude and are just awful people to the tenants. Filthy living conditions. If I had a time machine, I would not only go back in time to prevent myself from signing a lease here, I'd want to go back in time to have this place never be built. Save yourself the heartbreak of the decade and don't live here.

A substandard apartment complex that is dirty, noisy, and simply unbearable to live. Very a poorly managed, crowded gym. People walking around and talking loudly in the middle of the nigh.. It takes forever for maintenance to fix a problem in apartment They have been painting for more than 3 months and every morning I will wake up with painting crew loud music….

I have lived in The London for a couple of years now. Only stay here if you cannot afford to live anywhere else as it is the cheapest in the area for good reason. If you tour makes sure to check out more than just the buildings at the entrance because every other building is decrepit, has almost no lighting, there are no security cameras and the place is a known drug dealing location. I have seen several people get evicted for this reason. The "high speed" internet they brag about goes out almost weekly. There are hidden charges in the lease they don't mention to you. The way they do utilities is very sketchy here as well as you don't pay for what your room uses but what the building uses divided amongst everyone in the building, I.E. if someone is going crazy with the power and you're using less you get overcharged. All the fun things they say they will do when you tour never happens and good luck getting maintenance to ever fix your problems.
The apartment has been infested with roaches since the day me and my roommate moved in. Multiple times we have requested pest control. The apartment also came with a horrible burn mark on the counter and in the microwave. The units are old along with the furniture. The only thing they’ve put money in is the clubhouse where the printers never works and a common area filled with bugs.
Nice location. Near HEB, Walmart, hotels and restaurants.
The manager yes the manger tried to tell us that our mailbox having been bent open could only be fixed in a timely matter if all tenants for that apartment signed their renewal lease. Garbage management and garbage apartments.
When I moved in my apartment I was given the wrong mail keys. It took a month to fix. There was no remote for the 'iNclUdED TeLeViSiOn'. The apartment was infested with fleas. My dishwasher was covered in mold and unusable. Every sink leaked, and hole was punched in the laundry room door. Dead roaches littered the floor. It took three fumigation rounds to be able to walk on the carpet without fleas congregating on and biting my ankles. Now, seven months later the dishwasher remains unusable, the work order for the broken door and leaky sinks and moldy dishwasher remain unfixed. A leak has developed in my closet ceiling because the water heater of my upstairs neighbor doesn't have a bath. And since the staff, helpful as they may be, haven't had an easy time of getting maintenance, mold has covered every wall in my closet for the last two plus weeks. The units are dilapidated, and all the utilities included in them are half measures. You get a TV mounted on the wall with no remote, and no outlet close enough to plug it in. You get old furniture that has fleas. You get broken dressers, old carpets, and a hydra of problems - for every work order the maintenance is able to fulfill, it seems like two more need to take its place. The draw to living here is the price. If you have nowhere else to go, this will do. But if you have any realistic means to stay anywhere else, that is the place for you. Don't be fooled by the advertisements.
The management is the worst thing ever. They give you dirty apartments while moving in and half of the things don’t work. The utility bills they give you are probably fake. They charged us 420$ in utilities for a month. Id something is broken you’re better of fixing it yourself. They didn’t fix our AC for 3 months
I would recommend staying away from this apartment. It is little cheap for a reason. The apartments are not that good. If you have any questions, you will have to email the manager, there is no way you can talk to through phone or by meeting in the leasing office. Their service is very frustrating.
There’s mold and roaches. The dryer doesn’t work. The door won’t close without deadbolting it shut. There are patches in the carpet. The water did not work when we moved in. The WiFi is unpredictable and slow. There is trash and dog piles everywhere outside. The parking lot is cracked with holes. Several MEN(!) showed up in my apartment without notice to replace the fire sprinklers(?) and left a giant mess and holes in my ceiling... the list goes on. There was also a point in time where the fire alarms were going off randomly, 6am, 9am, 11pm.. the fire department stopped showing up. The people working at the front office are just college kids basically and the whole place is a joke along with the maintenance.
I heard bad things when this establishment was named The District. However, when it “changed management” and became the London, I suggested that my brother try it out. My brother moved in last week. The entire room smelled stongly of paint. We had to open the windows and blast the fan in order to diminish the smell. There were paint splatters on the furniture. Then we went into the restroom. The entire place was a MESS. There were paint chips all over the floor, the tub, the toilet, the sink. EVERYWHERE. When we told the front office, they said that maintenance didn’t work in the weekends, so we would have to wait until Monday to get it fixed. No apology, no valid reason for the room to be in that state, nothing. As a former student at A&M, I have lived in a lot of places but have never seen an apartment complex do something like this before. SPEND YOUR MONEY ELSWEHERE.
great place, great people. Beautiful scenery and rooms
The London Apartments is a great place to live! The apartments are well kept and the office personal is great!
All of the reviews about the poor upkeep are true, they spent all of their money painting the front office green and buying tacky chandeliers and portraits of the queen. When I toured, they bragged about getting in marble counter tops for all of the units "just like the model" but even the model was fake marble stickers and they never even gave us those. The largest problem is with the management. Either through a level of gross incompetence (which might be true given the front office remodel/color), or malice, they repeatedly put incorrect charges on my account and many others. Some of these were multiple copies of the same utility charge, or incorrect rent which were very difficult to track down due to the way that their system works. The date marked on the charges on their website is not the actual date that the charges were applied, and can be any date that they want to show you (even future dates as was the case quite often). This made it very difficult to prove that utility charges were wrong, and not just applied early or late for an upcoming or past month. 3 months after moving out, my roommates and I got a very threatening email, not even from the regular official email list, saying that we had 10 days to pay for damages or they would send a collection agency after us. This email looked like a scam from a Nigerian prince. After trying to contact the front office and being repeatedly told that the person who could help us was out of the office, we went in person and they immediately agreed to remove the charges admitting they didn't have any evidence. This means that they were either trying to scam residents, or lost whatever pictures they took. Either way, these management mistakes are enough of a reason not to live here no matter how cheap the rent might be.
I've lived here since august, and I've got to say it's really been a mixed experience. The moving in two days before school starts was a major hassle, and they aren't the fastest with getting around to fix problems unless it could possibly damage their property; the one time I had someone come to fix something that same day was when my toilet was flooding my bathroom. My toilet was broken when I moved in, and it took two days for them to fix it the first time and after that it broke regularly until they replaced it a month in. In addition to this, the hotel style door locks are literally the worst and mine messes up all the time. However, not everything is all bad. I think all the apartments are renovated by now (mine is at least), and though the furniture included is not different and is a bit gross, the floors are decent, the carpet is new, and so are the appliances (the washer/dryer are old in mine, but they work well.) The prices really aren't bad either, and my floor plan (2x2) is a nice layout- but the kitchen is a too small for more than one person, and I'm not sure but I think that it is the same size for units with more rooms. But, from what i've heard, it's either you get one that is ok or you get one that really isn't. If you're willing to take that risk, go for it. Overall, they're pretty ok and not the worst for student apartments.
DO NOT MOVE HERE! I have lived at several apartment complexes in College Station and this one is by far the worst. The model looks nice and all new but when you move in, you get a run down apartment with so many maintenance problems that there are too many to count. The molding on the walls is rotting away. The kitchen cabinets are rotting away at the bottoms. My washer and dryer have both broke in the past few weeks and no one has even bothered to come look at them. I have been having to go to a laundromat for the past three weeks to do my laundry. Last week my dishwasher broke and started to flood my apartment. I ran to the office to tell them and the girl at the desk said that she would submit a maintenance request and list it as a high priority. It has been over a week and STILL no one has even come to look at the leak, let alone fix it. My apartment reeks of stagnant water and all of my dishes and silverware that were in the dishwasher were ruined. I keep getting told that someone is on their way to look at it but they never come. It is literally a health hazard with all the stagnant water flooding my kitchen and no one seems to care. They invest all the money into making the clubhouse and model apartment look nice, but they completely neglect their residents. Once again, DO NOT MOVE HERE. I have only lived here since June and these are all the problems I have ran into already so imagine what will happen over the course of the whole year.
It’s just the District on Luther with a new clubhouse that’s been rebranded. Same sucky apartments, same frustrating managers, same broken promises to update units. Don’t waste your time or money. Model unit is gorgeous, don’t be fooled there’s not a single unit in that shape. Mold, maintence coming in unannounced, unexpected fees, holes in walls, Gates are never closed, walls are paper thin, etc.
