The Lower East Side of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, serves as a microcosm of the outlying East side neighborhoods and the city itself. Destination streets like Brady and North Ave are at an arm's reach, as is Lake Michigan and downtown to the south. Dynamic bars and lounges rub shoulders with established cafes and sumptuous restaurant options in this hip hood. Parks and green space dot the Lower East Side, and abundant businesses and other services make it very walkable. Renters in the neighborhood far outweigh homeowners, creating ample rental opportunities. This area is centrally located, making it a great option for those looking to commute to the downtown area. Options for entertainment and socializing abound, enhancing the neighborhood's popularity.

Property Ratings at London House
Building manager responds diligently, secure doors & garage, absolutely love living here!
Absolutely do not live here, unless you feel like stepping over homeless people sleeping in the front lobby. When you try to contact management about problems they give you the run around and say they will get back to you then never do. The building is basically falling apart. If you’re thinking about paying for a parking spot don’t bother. People park for free in the garage constantly and the apartment has a 24 hour rule saying they won’t tow unless it’s been longer than 24 hours. Do not move here. The only positive side to this whole complex is maintenance. They have been extremely solid and fast. I only know that because I’ve had to contact them so many times for the many, many problems with my unit. My only advice would be if you can live somewhere else.
Lived here for 2 years and I love it. Units/building are very clean, cable included, parking available, dogs allowed, etc. I’ve had a couple minor maintenance requests and before I know it a member of the company is knocking on my door to fix the issue and they do so in a very prompt and professional manner. Anytime I interact with the office/landlord they’re always courteous and helpful. I’ve lived all over MKE but have never been felt so taken care of. Great place to live!
While I’ve only been living here a month, I’m really glad I chose the London House. It’s a great location that is super close to Brady Street, and compared to the other apartments/condos near the Lake, the price is pretty good. A list of pros: - Garage parking is available - New, granite counter tops in the kitchen and bathroom - My unit had been newly painted and had new carpet installed upon move in - The leasing/landlord team (Lily) is awesome - very helpful and so responsive to any question or request - Great location, close to Starbuck’s, CVS, Brady Street and of course, the Lake - Security, I feel safe here and in the neighborhood - Pet friendly. I feel like almost every resident has a pet. - Cleanliness - They do a good job keeping the lobby area clean. Cons: - Limited washers (5) and dryers (6), which are also pricey ($1.75 per washer, $1.50 per dryer). I honestly wish there could be in in-unit hook-ups. It’s really hard to find a time when all the washers aren’t full. I wish they’d consider a sign up sheet... or consider the in-unit hookups. I’d pay more for them. - Not that this is a con (so far), but most residents seem to be college students or recent grads. Again, no issues with this so far and the residents seem to keep to themselves and I haven’t experienced an issue with wild parties on weekends, but it’s good to know this is the demographic. Long review short, you should definitely consider London House!
I've lived at the London House for about 6 months and in that 6 months building management has responded to me fairly quickly (I've only submitted 3 maintenance requests tho). the parking situation isn't great street parking is pretty crowded and the private lot has very small parking spaces. the general look and feel of the apartment is nice. laundry machines are frequently full tho so finding the right time to use those can be a challenge. apartments are price really nice and that's the best part about this place. the company that owns the building New land enterprises can be really stubborn and difficult to work with.
The London House has provided me with a cozy lifestyle on the east side. The apartment is very well updated with stainless steel appliances and even a garbage disposal! It has an extremely convenient location if you like living near the lake, bars, restaurants and other shops/stores. The kitchen and living room are a little tight I wouldn't recommend living with more than one other person in your apartment. The only downside to this building is the price of laundry and parking. Laundry machines are a little pricey $1.75 per load. And parking runs from $125 to $150 in the garage. You can park on the street which typically isn't bad unless it's late at night or in the winter. I recommend looking around to find assigned parking in nearby lots. I'd recommend the London house to anyone that wants to live on the east side of mke and that doesn't mind the hustle and bustle every now and again.
