Property Ratings at The Lorient
This was the worst experience I have ever had with an apartment complex. The staff is dismissive and rude. I was promised incentives that were never honored. I had mold in my apartment that was never taking care of. I was told there was no bugs and the apartment was clean just to get the keys and open the door to 4 huge roaches running around and dealt with huge roaches the entire time I was there. told about the problem was told it happens from time to time and the building was old. There were someone else silverware in the dishwasher when I moved. The apartment I was shown is not the apartment I leased and was extremely disappointed. After leaving the apartment super clean and no damage I was not giving back my full deposit or an itemized list of what was supposed to be wrong. My car was broken into twice and constantly had weird activity going on at night that was never addressed. There is nothing luxury about this apartment complex.
Everything here is HORRIBLE!!! The maintenance man never comes when requested even when you call they never send them out… AC’s are always OUT! They never work they are very very old they had to send 4 companies out to fix it aC was broke when I first moved in … have a HUGEEEEE Bug problem ! Everything in the apartment is broke ! The toilet runs all day everyday called multiple times to get it fixed never fixed it . the toilet tissue handler fell out the wall. Called someone to fix it never came.. main water pipes broke called emergency maintenance no one came until the afternoon. They were looking for the maintenance man all morning.

I have been staying here since July 2021 and I love it here. The remodeling is coming along well and the management team very respectful and takes good care of you. The only down side I ran into was the maintenance workers aren’t that experience. However they always find someone to help with your issue

The only pro is the new appliances in the units. Everything else has been a nightmare! The roads are horrible!!!! Sooo many potholes it’s ridiculous. The insulation is terrible, the bedrooms could be burning hot while the living room is freezing cold. And pleaseeeeee don’t rent out any of the first floor units. You can hear every single thing coming from the unit above you! They will move in a family of 15 above you in a 2brd and will have absolutely zero sympathy for you losing sleep at night. I will be breaking my lease ASAP! Not to mention the loud construction 7 days a week, taking a nap on your day off is impossible. Lastly, Mold was found in ac unit and nothing was done about it!

We understand that it is inconvenient to live in a property where is ongoing construction, however, before you moved in the staff discussed this with you and made sure you were aware that construction would be ongoing. Please kindly check your lease and paragraph 6 in the Construction Addendum. We also understand that living in a downstairs apartment may also be inconvenient, as you will most likely hear normal living noise from your upstairs neighbors. The staff has graciously worked with you from the very beginning of your complaint to ensure you were experiencing peace in your home. We are saddened to hear that your car was keyed. Can you please bring a copy of your police report to the office so we are able to document criminal activity on property and make our courtesy officer aware. We strictly adhere to HUD housing limits, and there are no units on our property that house 15 people. Our construction team works hard to ensure our redevelopment process moves along swiftly. Our groundskeeper, maintenance team, and office staff work very hard to ensure the property is picked up and the laundry room is in good condition. We responded on the same day to your AC unit concern, and remedied the issue. We are unaware of any other maintenance concerns in your apartment as they have not been voiced to us. Our Community Director would love the opportunity to speak with you more about the issues you are experiencing. We strive to maintain resident satisfaction and will be reaching out in hopes of reaching an amicable solution.
Five stars is not enough to show how happy I am with Lorient Apartments especially in regards to the staff. I originally was interested in another community because they have many locations where I am from but that is not why I ultimately chose to live here. The staff made me feel at home, and maintenance has always been a great help and you'll be in great hands.

It’s a roof over your head. That’s it. We were supposed to move i to a “renovated” apartment. What a JOKE! They slapped paint on the walls and put in new vinyl plank floors - that’s IT! And the glue used to install the flooring had squished up through between the planks and hd been tracked around by the workers. It was SO STICKY and took weeks to completely clean up. In the meantime, I ended up having a terrible reaction to it and ended up with blisters all over my feet. The countertops are disintegrating, the tub is cracking, the toiled was so loose that it could have been toppled over (oh yeah, that took 6 months to get repaired), there was broken glass all over our back patio (that we had to clean up - maintenance only cleaned up a small portion, despite our fervent requests because it was very dangerous), there was a used condom on our back patio (again, maintenance did not come out to clean that up), our windows lean when it rains.... oh my goodness the list goes on! We have been here 6 months and it has just been one problem after the other. Good luck getting a hold of the office (which no longer accepts packages, so that’s very disappointing). Tenants leave trash EVERYWHERE too - too much for maintenance to keep up on really. My upstairs neighbor loves to drop broken glass down on our patio, so I’m always having to check before I step outside so I don’t injure myself. The laundry facilities are really bad too. Pretty much none of the dryers work well, so it takes about 2 hours to get anything completely dry. The washers are OK, but really gross and people aren’t good about getting their laundry out in a timely manner. If Covid hadn’t hit us so hard financially, we would just break our lease and leave - it is not a great place to live. I am so disappointed because it could be nice - the layouts of the apartments are good and there is a lot of green space.
Positives- 3 maintenance employees are pleasant. I usually don’t leave reviews, but I’ve had enough, and maybe I can save someone else.. Negatives- apartment is in bad shape. office staff is rude, they rarely answer the phone, or return voicemails or emails. They don’t take accountability for their mistakes. Office hours are inconsistent, and they are only “fake nice” when potential tenants are around.
