Property Ratings at The Lynx
Whoever has purchased this property has made it obvious through their policies, and changes, that they do NOT value their resident's safety, or security. This property used to be called The Amberton. A new company has purchased it in the past couple years, and changed it from that to The Lynx. They have a sign out front advertising they did a MULTI-MILLION dollar renovation, and within those millions of dollars they couldn't find a budget for anything to prevent the constant theft of resident's mail, and vehicles from the property. Changes include makeovers on amenities like the pools, new railings on the balconies, and new shingles on the rooves. The leasing office was given a HUGE makeover, new carpets, computers, floors, paint job, and a kitchenette. Everything to give the APPEARANCE of a new fancy apartment complex, but that's as far as the updates go. The gates have no cameras, so anyone can go in. The fence has holes in it, so anyone can sneak in if the gates are locked. They have cameras ALL AROUND the leasing office, but none at the gates to see who is coming or going. Just last night I had to chase someone away who had broken into the residential mailboxes. Two days ago I saw two people standing in a parking spot that had a pile of broken glass next to it, looking for their car that was obviously stolen. The leasing office states they have a patrol car for security. I have yet to see such a vehicle on the premises. When I bring any of this up with the leasing office they tell ME to go report the broken mailboxes to the post office. They also gave me a number for the security to call......THEY installed the boxes, AND chose to secure them with as little money as they could muster, so why am I left with the responsibility to report, and follow up? I don't own the property, and I didn't spend MILLIONS of dollars to paint the roses red, while not actually fixing anything. DO. NOT. MOVE. HERE.

Ive been here for less then a month and the apartments are infested with roaches. Walked into my new apartment to see it crawling with roaches! Yea they'll come and try and bomb and spray but they expect you to live like this and pay the full rent to live with roaches.

manager is horrible, she has no customer service skills, my vehicle was towed twice in 2 months time after i registered vehicle in front office. i ve been waiting corporate to return my calls for over a week now. manager threatens me with eviction after i find out my vehicle has been towed for the second time because she see me on camera outside cursing to myself with no one around and then she tells me theres nothing she can do, then tells me with sarcasm have a great day!!!!! the only thing i can say is asst. manager has very good cust. service skills

I have lived here for 7 years and never had an issue until the property was sold and the new management team took over. When I saw my renewal rate, I was shocked. Somehow, they believe that their "lipstick on a pig improvement" justified a 33% increase. They don't. I made the mistake of signing for another year only to find out about multiple extra mandatory charges added to the rent. You can add $100-$160 to your rent for things like common area fee, valet trash, etc. The manager says whatever she thinks will pacify and has no regard for the truth. They forget that this is not just a business it is people's home. Needless to say, as soon as this lease is up, I'll be moving on and would not recommend this place to anyone.

As a current resident thats has had a 16 month lease at this apartment. I have witnessed the turn over of new ownership from the amberton apartments to these new owner Lynx. And they have to be the worst property managers that I’ve ever had. There customer service is absolutely garbage and they honestly try not to deal with their residents face to face. This month alone I received an eviction text without a 3 day notice to proceed that. And when I went to the office (of course with attitude) I was not met with a kind attitude at all! And since i work in customer service I know about “service with a smile” even when its hard. Needless to say they have ONE good leasing agent to get you in the door and then after that poof!!!! Know what you are getting into please.

All of them are rude and condescending. Luxury apartments please basic and old rundown instead of fixing the apartments they renovating the leasing maybe they should invest money on keeping the property clean and good customer service. Oh and theft is very common the “ security” is useless. Be prepared to be an a area filled with homeless

Security is a joke. The gates dont stay working. But this place is targeted by chop shops and theft. Serveral vehicles has been tampered with or stolen. Including my own. Other than that never really had a problem. Rent doable, service responds well. Just theft scares me from mailboxes to property. Imo just need more security cameras ans more lit areas

This a place that should be reported to the BBB management is very unprofessional. Maintenance is nearly non existent and all the amenities are a joke. The only good thing about these slums is that they have one great pool; which they use in half of their pictures but they’re always dirty or closed and are cracked at the bottom which is a hazard.. Tons of dog poop on the newer side of the complex and the older side is cat infested. It is very loud here with high crime and drug dealings.
Yes agreed! High crime area with police running thru the premises. The management was involved in a shooting that took place here in broad day light with children everywhere. There is only one good pool that is always getting vandalized. The gates are always broken. No security; except for the police who are constantly called. Only one good laundromat. There is no actual spa and their fitness center is closet sized and no equipment works because of vandalizing that occurred over 4 months ago. The apartments closest to the office all smell like cat urine and that’s probably because they allow stray cats and state they offer an adoption program for them. The actual office has cats inside as well. The mailboxes are constantly being broken into and large packages are not allowed to be left at the office and when left at your door they will be stolen. Maintenance WILL enter your apartment without consent or at least they did in my situation.
I lived there for 2years. It was nasty.. Roaches would not stop there year round. It took 3 months for them to come install our ceiling fan. The end of my time there count have been worse. Make sure you read your contract in fully. They hit me with wild numbers over a lie that was told by upset staff.. Unprofessional forsure.
There was feces in the public washer facility. It took them more than 3 weeks to do anything about it. Plus the only other coin washer was not working
Unprofessional & rude office staff. Maintenance issues are not responded to in a timely manner. Major A/C issues & was told the unit was going to be replaced several times by maintenance & never happened. Trash bins overflowing with furniture & electronics being dumped next to them. Gates constantly not working. Large potholes in the parking area where I'm at that haven't been fixed in the year I've been there. Water shut off frequently sometimes without notice. Don't bother, your money deserves to be spent in a more respectable place without the headaches & lack of respect by staff.
lived here for almost 10yrs but had problems in the 2ND visit. Had blackmails in bathroom as well as had roaches galore. Because of these issues was sick for almost 2yrs. When I moved out I became better. Stay away.
it's a nice quiet neighborhood. everyone keeps to themselves. some people need to slow down then driving in the apartments but other than that I enjoy living here.
Moved into Amberton almost 2 months ago. It's a very quiet complex, and all the neighbors we've met are pleasant. Staff is easy to work with and maintenance requests are handled swiftly. At least in the newer phase of the apartments, amenities are modern-enough, and accessibility for a wheelchair user is ample. The grounds are well upkept, outside of some mechanical problems with the entry gate at the back of the complex. All in all, I would recommend it for anyone looking for an older, or more military-centric, crowd to live around.
It very nice to live. There a lot of different types of apartments and they have some very good specials. It is in good area of San Antonio. The manager is very nice and they try to do repairs as possible. There is a lot of apartments. The rents are very good and the apartment are in good shape.
The apartments I'm staying at is great in alot of ways the rent is reasonable the front office is very quick to handle anything wrong with the apartment, and the 24 hour help center always answers, some things that bother me is the the gates are always getting stuck or damaged there is a minor bug issue, other than that it's quite peaceful no one bothers you an I haven't had any car damage issues or break ins with in my area, it's Convenient for drive back an forth for work an has alot of resources around the apartments!
