Situated in the northwestern corner of Saint Paul, Saint Anthony Park is a charming neighborhood between the downtowns of Saint Paul and Minneapolis. Saint Anthony Park’s small business district exudes the feel of an urban village, with plenty of quaint shops and local restaurants in Tudor-style buildings stretched along Como Avenue.
Outside of the business district, Saint Anthony Park is predominantly residential. The neighborhood is teeming with apartments and single-family homes covered in lush trees and landscaping. Langford Park offers residents numerous opportunities for outdoor recreation while the sprawling Como Regional Park lies just outside the neighborhood’s boundaries.
Saint Anthony Park is convenient to an array of notable amenities, including the University of Minnesota’s Saint Paul Campus, the Minnesota State Fair, and Rosedale Center. Convenience to I-94 and multiple light rail stations makes getting around from Saint Anthony Park simple.

Property Ratings at The Lyric at Carleton Place
The building has decided that they will turn off the air-conditioning in early October regardless off the weather. For a top-floor south facing apartment you are left no options, but to endure a truly uncomfortable living space. Reaching out to the building manager resulted in a non-sensical response about the HVAC settings and the instruction to 'open your windows'. Such a condescending answer was particularly frustrating given that my windows and balcony door were wide open (and a fan was pushing in cold air) and the apartment was still in excess of 80 degrees.

Hi there, thank you for bringing this issue to our attention. The cooling system at The Lyric is designed for energy efficiency and we must do our best at estimating a date when the system is no longer needed. Last year (10/22/2020), the high was 46 degrees so we apologize if our estimated date made for an uncomfortable living space for a couple weeks this year. If you have any other questions on how our cooling system works, please reach out to the office at lyric@lyricliving.com. Thank you!
I have lived in this complex for 2 years and just signed my lease for a third time so obviously I do like it here. The building is up to date and repairs are done fast. Paying rent is easy online. Depending on the unit be prepared to pay a nice sum every month but it is comparable to other units in the area. I do love how the river is a mile away for biking and running.
The Lyric is a great place to make your home if you love exploring both St Paul and Minneapolis. The building is well maintained with open, light-filled apartments. The people who work here are friendly and responsive. But the true advantage of life at The Lyric is its location. South St Anthony Park has a variety of housing options, so the neighborhood is diverse. Being part of the Creative Enterprise Zone means there are colorful murals to be discovered around every corner. Hampden Park Coop is walking distance for delicious soups and groceries. When you feel like exploring the world, there are nearby bike routes that will take you into St Paul or Minneapolis. Not feeling like walking or biking? The Green Line can get you close to bus routes that take you anywhere. And, if you must, 94 and 280 are easily accessed by car. This is the place to live if you want a comfortable home that makes it easy to explore the world. I've lived here 2 years and still am happily making new discoveries every day.

Thank you for this positive review, we appreciate you!
I've been residing at The Lyric at Carleton Place for over a year now and have been really pleased with the upkeep and maintenance of the public areas and attention given to residents whenever an issue arises. Management is excellent! They care about those who reside on their property and make a point to stress the rules to keep everyone in order all the while engaging the tenants in fun. Various activities are available for mingling if that's your thing, and they are kind enough to acknowledge tenants personally on major holidays and birthdays; what apartment do you know in the area that does that?! If you're looking for a safe, clean and fun place to live, look no further. I highly suggest you check out this property and see if it's a great fit for you!
When I first visited The Lyric, I was very impressed with the lobby and the leasing women were friendly. There was a recently vacated room that had yet to be cleaned, but I was fine with seeing the room in a less than perfect state. The leasing agent agreed and reminded me numerous times it would be clean which was nice. We got to the room and I was extremely impressed. Nice appliances, granite counter tops, great looking floors and spacious rooms. I called my future roommates and said we need to sign the lease now. We went the next day and signed the lease. It is quiet on the weekends and you almost never heard neighbor noise or the people above you (if you're not on the top floor). Also, you don't use a key to lock your door, but rather a magnetic sensor type thing. Hold the sensor near the door and when it turns green you can lock it. That's really nice. There are a few things that almost prevented me from giving 5 stars. You can't bring your dogs in the elevator which I don't really understand. Also, there's a paper processing plant a few blocks away that produces an interesting smell. It's not bad or gross or anything, it just smells like, well, paper. The bedroom doors are barn style so they don't close in a door frame resulting in no sound insulation and they don't lock. Not a deal breaker, but an interesting style choice. The underground parking is wonderful, the in unit washer and dryer is a huge plus and there is adequate area to take out your dog in a secured area. If there were more things in the area, this apartment would be perfect. Overall, the small things I dislike about The Lyric are far outnumbered by the positive things. I would definitely recommend this apartment to others.
I've lived at The Lyric since June of 2011 and I have loved every minute of it. The apartments themselves are gorgeous and the building is well constructed. I rarely hear a neighbor. Great amenities, too, with a washer and dryer in every apartment. I love the ladies that work in the rental office, they are practically family and have been nothing but accommodating and friendly to me. When I have a maintenance request, it's fixed RIGHT away. They really do a great job here. Absolutely, without a single doubt in my mind, the BEST apartment complex I've ever lived in. It's like living in a 5 star resort!
I have lived at The Lyric since August of 2010, which was shortly after they began leasing units. I have loved my time at the building and continue to renew my lease because I can rely on great service, value, helpful staff and maintenance, and a top-of-the-line apartment. I can't say anything negative about my experience so far and plan to stay!
I love the Lyric. It is an awesome place. It's very centrally located, close to the highways, bus stops, and the light rail. The amenities are great. I'm lucky enough to live on the 6th floor, near the outdoor theater, the solarium, the sauna, and the grilles. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They have truly gone above and beyond to help me have a great experience at the Lyric. I have thoroughly enjoyed my 1.5 years here and hope to live here for a long time. Sincerely, Frederic
I have lived at "The Lyric" since August 2012 and I love it! The staff here is really polite and welcoming. If something is malfunctioning it gets taken care of quickly! The Maintenance Staff are very helpful and efficient! I live on the top floor (6th), so I am not troubled by noise. The building was built in 2010, which means a very modern style with very nice-looking apartments. In the title I refer to the Light Rail currently under construction. With a station being built right outside the building, going to Downtown will be easy! "The Lyric" is located between Downtown Minneapolis and Downtown St. Paul in an Industrial neighborhood. There is a liquor store one block from the apartment complex, with McDonalds and Subway close by. It is located close to both University of Minnesota and University of St. Thomas, making this a nice place for students to live! I believe you will have difficulty finding a better place to live than here!
My significant other and I searched for a long while to find the perfect apartment in the city. The Lyric has exceeded our expectations in all areas. We have both experienced apartment living prior to The Lyric. We were impressed during our very first point of contact with the office staff. They were attentive and not at all pushy to get us to rent. Once we saw the property, it sold itself. It is beautiful, very well-managed and extremely clean. We had zero complaints when we first visited and have been happy renters, 18 months and counting. The Lyric holds themselves to very high standards. They aim to keep their renters satisfied with the level of service they provide. I have lived in other apartment buildings where the office staff is non-existent or very hard to get a hold of and where maintenance takes days to respond to anything..even urgent matters. At The Lyric, the office staff holds regular hours, makes sure that they are accessible and are both friendly and warm. Maintenance responds to requests on usually a daily basis, but from our experience it's normally within a short time of our request for help. The staff at The Lyric, alone, is one of the main reasons we wanted to sign another lease. They are phenomenal. Some other positives: spacious beautiful apartments with large floor to ceiling windows, unique amenities like a roof-top outdoor movie theater, a generously sized workout room with a variety of equipment open 24 hrs, several community rooms to hang out in including a party room where large events can be held, yoga/hip hop and other onsite classes offered as well as community art shows regularly scheduled on the first floor. Lastly, of any place we have ever lived, the community here at The Lyric is the most pleasantly diverse group of people. The range runs from small children of families to elderly and from all walks. My family and I enjoy this diversity and the friendly, inviting community we call our home at The Lyric.
Nothing comes closer to a perfect living space then the Lyric. Very personable and responsive staff; professional and respectful maintenance; beautifully designed eco-friendly apartments; amenities unmatched by any apartment community I have seen (amazing selection and versatility in uses); gorgeous views of the Twin Cities on the south side of the complex; ample storage in the apartment and a storage unit in the heated underground garage; a compassion for the arts in the decor, the architecture, the staff and the fact that they built a theater with a reception area in the building. Located 10 mins from both downtowns the Lyric will be one of the most convenient location in the Twin Cities by 2014, as it will be half block from a newly completed light rail station and a block from a Nice Ride location. (looking forward to saving on the gas) The rent is appreciable but with all of the amenities mentioned prior it is well worth the budgeting. Along with a pretty low stress environment. (did I mention the hot tub available about 7 months out of the year... Heaven!) Lastly, on a more specific personal note... I am a professional performer working through out the Twin Cities and I have found that the space fosters a wonderfully creative environment. I feel inspired and productive when I am home and that's been a true asset to my career; to live in a place that I can create in. I love coming home!
The Lyric is modern in style and amenities. A great mix of people live here and a sense of community is deliberately fostered by the management team. As a dog lover I especially enjoy all the happy dogs who live here. The social spaces are really great and host weddings, parties, art sales and concerts. Yet my own apartment is remarkably quiet and private. Everyone who lives here is eagerly awaiting the launch of the Green Line light rail with the Raymond Avenue Station right out front. Note that all the light rail construction near the Lyric is completely done. In the meantime the Metro Transit bus service is excellent. The neighborhood is known for its population of artists and seems to be drawing new and interesting shops and restaurants. I think it's a great place to live!
I have been at the Lyric almost 2 years and I love it. The apartments are spacious with quality amenities. I have a huge closet which easily fits my clothes and sewing stuff. I love having my own washer and dryer. Appliances are top quality and the living area is beautiful with lots of large windows. This is the best value in town for size and amenities. Anything else comparable is much more costly. Maintenance is terrific with immediate response and well skilled. I have found the office staff to be extremely pleasant, responsive and helpful. The building is beautifully maintained, and quiet. The exercise room is great and there are several beautiful common rooms for meetings or gatherings. It will also be exciting when light rail starts up with a station a block away. Easy access here to just about every where in the Twin Cities.
