Property Ratings at Madison Apartments
If you’ve had or have to use funding for any type of financial hardship, they won’t renew your lease. Nothing is included as far as utilities. You’ll have a bill from Alliant, MG&E, trash, water, AND internet on top of the rent cost. If you need maintenance, they cake a bunch of caulk on it and call it a day.
I have been living at The Madison Apartments since 2015. The management is welcoming, friendly and they are very helpful. Maintenance staff communicates well and they accommodate my work orders in a timely manner. I love the location. We are up on a hill with only residential areas surrounding us. It is a dog friendly neighborhood, lots of walking areas and they just built a new dog park!! I love living at The Madison Apartments and I plan to stay for long time coming.
I have now been living at the Madison for a little over 6 months and I have to say this is my favorite apartment I've ever lived in. I live in a quad plex and it is absolutely wonderful walking into a foyer area and being able to enter my apartment without having to walk down long hallways like I'm in a hotel. The office and maintenance staff are all wonderful and very helpful when anything has been needed and the pool and other amenities that are offered here are wonderful. Would highly suggest turning in an application and joining us here at The Madison if you want to love where you live.
I wish I could give them a NEGATIVE rating. Initially, apartments started off under a different management who was very prompt in taking care of the tenants issues. One day, the Heater in my apartment was not working and I called the leasing office, I was told that I didn't know how to operate it and they refused to send any one to take care of the issue. They also switched off the lights in the corridor of our Apartment building and we had to call them multiple times to get them back on. The new staff is extremely shrewd and rude. Most of the people that I know of have already been vacating these apartments after the new management took over. We do not have any short term leases and we are stuck for 12 months. So BEWARE before you sign the lease as they tell you that you can pay a lease breakage fee of $250 if you want to get out of the lease but you would still be held responsible for the rent till they find someone to lease it out. As they have many vacant units, they would not even care to show your unit to others as they are still making money on it from you and you would end up paying thousands of dollars in spite of paying the lease breakage fee. AVOID Madison Apartments at any cost!!!
I have lived in these apartments for 2 years only because I hate to move. Even so I regretted signing my lease for the second year almost immediately. The first two managers were wonderful, however there has been significant turn over in the time that I have lived here (6 managers in 22 months) and changes have been made that have cost me thousands. I am unsure what I did to upset the one office staff that has been consistent, but I have received letters that now border on harassment. The topics have varied, but for some reason I seem to carry the blame in her eyes for anything that is not as she likes in the entire complex. I cannot comprehend why things that take place in other buildings are attributed to me. When I have gone to the office to see what I could do differently I was told it was not just me. The letters stopped then, but then I started receiving phone calls. I prefer the direct method, however I can no longer be convinced the blame is not being placed on me. (I have been 5 days late on rent once in the years that I have lived here and that was related to the tacked on fees with change in management. All other payments have been early. I am still in contact with the staff in the last apartments I lived in, even after moving out of state because I developed strong friendships with several of the staff. I am adding this information to show that I am truly not a difficult tenant. ) I am from a large boisterous family and it is difficult to get me to a place where I am frustrated with noise levels. Either the sound proofing is truly terrible or I have the loudest neighbors of all time. Please keep looking- there are much better alternatives in this price range.
We moved here from a house in the Chicago area and were nervous about apartment living. Thanks to The Madison and their amazing staff, it was a wonderful transition. The apartments themselves are cheerful, sunny and have great storage space. The grounds are beautiful with plenty of green space and the pool is really great. The location is super close to Starbucks, Target, Costco...amazing. And the staff, especially the property manager, Christine, is the best. She has gone above and beyond to make us comfortable. The few minor issues that have come up she resolved quickly and made me feel like she actually cares! We are really happy here.
I was in a crunch to get into a new apartment fast and took a look at The Madison and have been please so far. The location is great. Office staff was very helpful and friendly through the entire process of getting settled in.
