Property Ratings at The Madison
If you like to have your maintenance requests handled in a timely manner, or at all, don’t live here. We have had many issues since moving in including being filthy upon moving in, A/C issues they refuse to fix, roach problems, dishwasher problems, door lock problems, washing machine problems that have still yet to be fixed, and more. They are slow to respond to requests (I'm talking weeks, not days). The younger guys seem incompetent when they do finally come to fix a problem. They seem to put Band-Aids on things rather than actually fixing the problem, which leads to more (and more serious) problems in the future. And they close out maintenance requests without completing them. With our most recent problem with our washer, the excuse as to why they haven't fixed it yet was because they have many AC and leak issues that have to take priority. I understand that AC issues and leaks would take priority. What I don’t understand is why they have so many AC issues and leaks??? Maybe they need to be discussing some preventative measures and take care of requests before they become more of an issue. I have never had such slow responses or lack of care from maintenance in an apartment complex before. I know it is not entirely their fault as they take direction from the woman in the front office.

My daughter lived at the Madison this past year while attending graduate school. She wanted a conventional apartment setting rather than student living. She loved living there. It was quiet and she felt very safe. I never worried about her while she was there. The only reason she did not renew her lease was because she moved away from Greenville when the school year was over.

They never clean around here. Gym will be empty of toilet paper an supplies for weeks. They let tenants throw trash bags on ground an take 2 weeks to get it. They never answer an when they do they act like the never got your message. Worst place ever

The Madison is a great place to live. The staff was super helpful and very kind when I was living there. The apartments are very spacious and comfortable. I definitely would recommend living here if you want to be close to everything in town.

The management staff has been wonderful! They answered our phone calls at all times of the day and have been friendly and attentive to any concerns we may have had. The staff has made us feel so welcomed and really made a point to get to know their residents. Moving out of state can be stressful but the Madison already feels like home thanks to the amazing management staff, cute apartment, and great location!

I have a 2 bed 2 bath (small). It’s huge, super affordable, and clean. Pool is huge and the gym is nice as well. It’s in a perfect location. Staff is very polite and respectful.

I moved in to The Madison roughly two years ago. I had several friends that lived out here when it was Hyde Park and they loved it. As soon as the new property management company took over things went downhill fast. I moved in to a two bedroom unit. We immediately began having issues with our air conditioning. Let me state that we didn't expect it to be freezing, we kept the thermostat set at 75 in the summer and barely used our heat in the winter. The air conditioning unit ran constantly and would consistently be anywhere to 80-82 degrees everyday. When we called maintenance to fix the issue, they told us this was normal and we'd have to deal with it. The utility bills are outrageous. I'm talking $300-400 a month when we don't keep it on a cold setting, we kept the blinds closed, kept lights off, and unplugged things not in use. For two years we've asked for them to fix this and every time they refused. They came in to do "upgrades" and did a horrible job that you could tell was done in a rush. We had a neighbor down below smoking weed every day and the smell came through our air vents into our unit two floors above them. When we've complained to the office several times, it was again our problem and they refused to address the issue. For the money they charge to live out here, they couldn't pay me to recommend this place to anyone. Save yourself time, sweat, money, and a contact high and go anywhere else.
