Beginning along Hillsborough Street and extending north to the Carolina Country Club, Village District is a large Raleigh neighborhood near downtown and North Carolina State University. Village District features restaurants and bakeries such as Rise Biscuits and Donuts, Café Carolina and Bakery, Benelux Coffee, and Tupelo Honey. The area also features several shops, boutiques, and a Harris Teeter grocery store.
Village District dates back to 1947 as North Carolina's first mixed-use community. In addition to the shopping center, it contained office buildings, single-family homes, apartment buildings, and condominiums. The oldest section of Village District is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. With its wildly popular shopping area, easy access to NC State and Downtown, and tree-lined residential streets, Village District is still the place to be.

The Maggie is the absolute best location in all of Raleigh. You can walk to grocery stores, restaurants, shops, bookstores - I rarely use my car other than to drive to work. Living at The Maggie affords me the walkable lifestyle that I love.

I am a resident of 401 Oberlin’s since year 2017 ( almost 7 years) and intend to continue living here for more a few years,if the rental cost is reasonable. I am very happy with the current managers which are outstanding, prepared to help the residents all time to fulfill theirs needs. The location on Village District offers everything needed to meet the daily needs.
401 Oberlin is the perfect location in Raleigh - you can walk to most any type store/restaurant you want including a UPS Store, a shoe repair, grocery stores (2!), ABC store, etc. The apartments themselves have nice layout options with plenty of storage space.
Staff is friendly and responds quickly to any problems with the apartment unit.
Living at 401 has been the best experience of my life! I am so happy everyday here. The neighbors and staff are friendly and the building is beautiful. Also, it is so convenient to walk to work and the grocery store. I love this place!
Lots of new improvements being done. Office staff and maintenance staff are great. Wonderful walkable location. Wood Residential is working diligently at upgrading the building and the outside community, I.e. doggy walking area. Highly recommend 401 Oberkin. Have lived here over four years.

I have lived here for 6+ years and have not once thought of living anywhere else in the area. All of the staff, Tatyanna, Marianne, Woody, Emily, and Jorge are top notch. Responsive, attentive, and friendly. They make it a pleasure to live here. Any of the day to day occurences that make living in a community dynamic are attended to and handled in the most professional and diligent manner by all of them.

401 is the perfect location - you can walk to everything from grocery stores to restaurants to medical offices, book store, shoe store, UPS - without all the traffic that’s in other parts of Raleigh. The office staff is very nice and the maintenance team is top notch.

Really easy and fun place to live that’s in a great neighborhood. Very walkable, safe, and in a beautiful area of the city.
We love our apartment and the location, but feel the common areas are not to par for the amount of rent paid, especially given the huge (12%) raise in our rent last year.
Cannot compete with the amenities offered or the overall feel of the building. All of the employees are extremely nice and helpful as well.
Wonderful walking location for "Inside the Beltline". Office management is excellent. Private parking garage is a plus. The salt water pool is great. 24/7 gym and cardio/yoga room. Village District with shopping and excellent dining options is just across the street.
401 Oberlin is ideal for everyone that wants a great gym, beautiful pool, private parking garage, and great space in their apartment. There is more than enough closet space, kitchens are very thoughtfully designed. The management and maintenance is very responsive and helpful. I love this community and I have great neighbors. I love the proximity to shopping and restaurants. All my favorite places are within walking distance.
