Property Ratings at The Maples
Stay far away from this place, they have bed bugs and will not tell you about it. They take your money, run, and leave you locked into a year lease while you are being eaten alive. Stay far away from this place!
I have lived here for over a year, and once the new owners came in a lot of great changes have been made! Any issue I have, office staff is readily available to assist me. They have 24hr emergency maintenance for any issues after hours. When my fridge stopped working, they completely replaced my fridge and gave me a brand new one! They are renovating units for current residents and I am thrilled to have updated blinds and new granite in my unit without any additional charge to me. This really made the apartment look much more modern, and completely worth the price! This is truly the best bang for your buck in the area and I recommend this apartment to all of my friends and family.

I have lived at the Maples since 2021. It was the most affordable property then and now. Unlike the other commenters, I have not seen a single bug. I also keep my space clean. The dog poop is definitely a problem, but they do fine those who don't pick up after their pets. Since they were bought out by the new company, it's gotten a bit more expensive but upgrades are worth it!

Don’t go off of pictures or tours, THIN WALLS YOU HEAR EVERYTHING . They keep the hallways dirty, they have people that clean and half do they’re job. The hallways are always dirty . They have bugs from the hallways to the basements, it’s uncomfortable to even wash ! I’ve had brown water, I couldn’t even bath being a female ! points where my heat wasn’t working for days in a row in the winter and emergency maintenance wouldn’t pick up ! I’ve complained multiple times about people coming and parking with no parking pass leaving no spots . I just so happened to clean my car windows today and took the permit off and forgot to put it back on and next thing you know my car is towed ! ITS UNFAIR that I’ve been living like this & NOW my car is gone & it is a weekend . I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND AT ALL I AM PISSED LIVING UNDER THESE CIRCUMSTANCES FOR ANOTHER COUPLE OF MONTHS .

Despite there being dog poop collectors every block, no one except maybe one unit out of the 80 that are on this street actually picks up after their dog. There was a major trash problem, although they hire people to come weekly to clean, there is always litter everywhere. It was quite obvious that our neighbors with dealing drugs often. A car would pull up in the front of the building at night, walk through the yard and knock on the window. With the thin walls, you could easily hear the knocking and it's quite startling to wake up to. The best part is if the neighbor didn't answer to the repeated knocking, the guy would get into the building and just loiter the hallway and banging on his door until he finally answered. As soon as the sun went down, there were constant rolling noises from upstairs, as if someone was using an office chair to slide all around the apartment. With the cheaply laid flooring, with gaps and ripples, you can hear every rotation those little wheels made. When the sun rose, the wheels came off and they were wearing steel-toed boots and carrying weights around to slam on the ground! I had put in several requests through their online system, in person, and via phone about maintenance requests. Our water heater that was in the bedroom closet had developed a rotten egg smell. I had also told them the pull string light switch has not worked since we moved in and the air conditioner filters also needed replacing. When I put the request online, I had specifically notated that we currently work from home and can not have maintenance come until our day off. They decided to just ignore the online request, so I called them multiple times about the request I had put in and always remember to ask them to only come on a specific weekday. They showed up on a Monday, while I was working and in a meeting to knock on our door, which made my dog go ballistic. By the way, none of the above-mentioned problems were ever solved. Don't rely on their washers and dryers either. They took my money and the Maples wouldn't refund me. When I notified the manager, I got a lovely email basically telling me that it's my responsibility to contact the third party about the washers and I won't be getting a refund. During the winter, there were constant mold issues. All windows and around the AC unit was mold and it was gross. I cannot imagine how unhealthy it was to be constantly breathing in.
They will charge you for a unit with central air which doesn’t work and they will help you out with a window number which doesn’t cool off the apartment. when the apartment is above 80 degrees, they tell you to go sit in the bedroom and there isn’t anything else they can do. Only rent there if you don’t actually want any amenities they advertised and charge for.
Do not waste your MONEY here they have BED BUGS AND ROACHES ?????? I also agree with what the other reviewer said I’ve lived here and rushed out as soon as I noticed the infestation ?? Beautiful buildings just have a infestation problem smh
This place is by far the worst place i've ever rented. They baited me in with the $100 off first months rent and $100 off second months rent "deal". When they showed me the place it smelled good like it was cleaned regularly, in the halls and on the stairwell. they told me it was a secure property, with controlled access with, cameras that recoreded 24/7. When I signed the lease and moved in after about a month or two they stopped having the cleaning people come clean the halls and let them get nasty and dirty. It always smelled like marijuana was being smoked in the hall. I myself walked out of my apartment and witnessed two people doing this right on the stairwell. The cameras that "recorded 24/7" had what looked like white paint over the lenses so they couldn't see anything anyways. The door to exit the actual building was propped open or just didnt shut and latch properly about 90% of the time, So anybody could enter the building. they charge you $1.50 per load to wash and dry your clothes. the washers and dryers barely fit a tiny load of about (5 shirts a pair of pants and some socks) they say that each Tennant gets their own "storage" space in the basement which is some wooden frames with chicken wire over it , the frame doesn't even reach the ceiling so anyone could just climb right over and into your storage space and take whatever they want and their were pipes leaking water onto the floor and people's personal items that were nasty and dirty just laying about. When I signed the lease they were well aware that I had a child and a dog and they said it would be no problem. Once we actually got in the place and started staying there regularly, we we're constantly being harassed because the unit they rented out to us was directly above the leasing office and when my kid would play or basically make any noise at all the peoperty manager yoland hall would come upstairs and knock on my door like the police and very rudely told us that the noise was and I quote "ridiculous and needed to stop" so I made my child stop playing and calm down witch he was just playing with a toy with the dog making her Chase it. After that she has came up about 2 more times for the same reason.
