Property Ratings at The Mark of Ridgeland
They look nice from the outside but once you drive in its a different story. The managers are very deceitful, they pretend to be nice until you get the apartment but once you sign your lease you're just another dollar sign. Apartments are very old, have not been updated at all not even new paint. If you have a maintenance issue you would do better fixing it yourself. There's only one trash dumpster in the entire complex, garbage is always piled up. Maintenance is almost nonexistent. The adults act worse than the children in the complex. For the price and what you have to deal with, the complex is cheap bad, not cheap good.
Management is horrible! Molded apartments! Bandages are used to fix repairs. You're better off somewhere else!

My wife and I lived in these apartments for 7 years before we finally moved to the gulf coast. They were decent at first but then became the worst apartments we have ever lived in. They raised our rent by nearly $50 every new lease. We went from paying $650 /mo to nearly $1000 /mo. The staff was terrible. It would take them months to fix something. I would put in a work order and no one would come fix the issue for like a month. Two years ago our air conditioner started leaking so bad that we developed black mold on the walls and terrible carpet. They would send someone out to fix it but never fixed it. We had to empty a bucket of water every day from the leaking air conditioner. They said it was normal. Last summer our AC went completely out for 2 full months. No one would fix it! We finally got fed up with them and moved out a month before our lease was up.
On first look, it's a beautiful spacious apartment. Management seems nice until there are any issues. 1. Water pipes mess up every few months, my apartment and my neighbors apartments have FLOODED, at least 3 times (water seeped through the carpets, making squishy sounds when you walk). It has taken several days to weeks to fix this issue in the past. 2. Maintenance guy came to fix a hole in my wall behind the water heater, and managed to put up a wall with my CAT INSIDE THE HOLE! Luckily I came home for lunch that day, realized the issue and broke the wall down. Management gave me to compensation or sympathy, did not apologize, did not care. 3. Another maintenance guy started TEXTING me INAPPROPRIATE messages regularly, made me so uncomfortable that I hired third party company to fix some of my issues in my apartment. 4. Management is literally so rude and horrible, they'll smile to your face but have no soul. They go back on what they say ALL THE TIME, pretend they never said certain things, are extremely rude, and can get personal and spiteful if you express your concerns about certain issues. I wouldn't recommend The Mark, the size here is nice, but in the long run, it's really not worth it to stay in a place where the buildings are falling apart and the management doesn't care about the quality of life for their residents. They are high on the teeny tiny power that they have and abuse that power.
This apartment is huge! I looked at 8 other properties before settling here. Great location and close to EVERYTHING! Shopping, parks, The Res (great fishing) restaurants, grocery stores and the mall all 7 minutes or less in distance! The floor plan is very generous in the right rooms! Not like other properties in the area that have tiny bedrooms and living rooms and huge bathrooms. I mean do you really spend the majority of your life in the bathroom? Washer and dryer connections with lots of shelf space....bonus! Most apartments in the area have no linen closet and not enough cabinet space. Not the case at the Mark! I hate being away from home now! It's quiet and I never hear the lady and her dogs upstairs! You would like it here.....I promise!
Since I have moved here, the customer service has been awesome. The staff is friendly and know me by name. Anytime requests are put in, they are responded to in a timely manner. They also follow-up after a request to make sure everything went well. By far, this is my best apartment living experience. The environment would not be possible without the caring and positive staff.
