Property Ratings at THE MARK ON SOLON
This would be a 0 star if possible. Management makes this place terrible. Very nice apartment but they will nickel and dime you for everything. And when you actually need something fixed good luck jumping through all the hoops. 1/10 I’d rather live near Harry Hines
The drive up appeal to The Mark on Solon is breathtaking. The grounds are clean and very well kept. They have two dog parks on property and small private yards on the 1st floor. Their pool is the perfect size for the property and their fitness center has just enough weights and workout equipment that you would be able to cancel your gym membership. The office staff is very friendly and attentive. They made me feel at home upon arriving! I would be more than happy to make The Mark on Solon my next home!
We moved in when the complex was new. It was lovely, but we had quite a few problems that made my life miserable. Note that there's a railroad track right by the complex. It's busy and very loud, especially in the middle of the night. The conductor seems to enjoy laying on the horn. Next major problem--the parking spots were not designed for large trucks, and there are quite a few, especially in front of the garages. They stick out over the fire lane. You'd think it's against city code, but apparently not. It makes backing out of your tiny space quite risky. Also, the outdoor security lights shone right into my master bedroom and I had to buy and install blackout blinds that didn't show on the outside. Without them it was like daylight. Also, we were told prior to moving in that the new floor and wall construction provided extra soundproofing. After many sleepless nights due to a screaming toddler next door and a shift worker upstairs who must've been a clog competition winner, we determined that was a lie. Also, be mindful that this complex LOVES dogs. There are two dog parks--one for small and one for large dogs. They even have animal shelters come out and do adoption days, presumably so they can make more money off you. In spring the smell of dog poop will knock you over. If you don't have a dog and don't appreciate the howling and barking, this is not the right complex for you. There were so many other things I hated about the year I wasted there, but they are too numerous to mention. I hope I can help prevent someone else from making the same mistake I made. It's a pretty complex, but not worth the extra money and all the aggravation.
The office staff has always been so kind when assisting me with any questions I have. They are very patient especially the manager Yolanda.
Apartments are very nice and everything but I recommend going to other apartments to live management is very horrible especially Yolanda‘s attitude never willing to help her residence!!!
The apartments are super nice and super relaxing you literally feel like you are in paradise but the management is very bad Yolanda has a very Ugly attitude and was never willing to help especially with COVID-19 it was like she didn’t care what was going on she just wanted the money right there and then don’t recommend these apartments!!!!
So bad management, me and my family started living here almost 2 years ago by that time the manager was Brandy and Samantha her assistant and everything was perfect but with the new manager we have been experiencing so many bad situations. Her attitude is awful, rude, never willing to help and has no good manners at all. Many of the residents complain about her so here I am too.
The apartment is ideal. The large walk-in closet, the kitchen with plenty of cupboard space, the full size washer and dryer hook-ups, the patio with a small yard, beautiful lighting throughout the apartment, a garden tub and a separate walk-in shower, a built-in workspace, and a garage, which is accessible via a breezeway make this the perfect apartment home.
When it comes to any living situation in my belief there are two key components, the actual physical property and then the management. It is undeniable that it is a great property, beautiful units with a clean and modern feel. However where the one star comes from is extremely poor management. Generally I am a quiet resident and keep to myself. In my circumstance I had set my account to autopayment because I dont like managing rent payments. However in rent processing I had a few glitches - and whether it is a third party or the complex itself to a customer it really does matter - problems at their core are issues impacting my experience. So despite having funds and setting my account to autopayment three times over the apartment hadn't posted a balance to my account / the rent system had a glitch and didn't process. So I had to get on the phone on a number of occassions and waste my time mitigating the root causes. I had hundreds of dollars of late fees tacked on that the only way to get waived was to spend hours resolving on my own and then presenting to management. At one point I had left for a vacation and was kindly greeted by an eviction notice triggered from this - in all of this I didn't even get a notification that rent didn't go through so that was how I found out. For being a 'luxury' property I would've expected more from management for all my hassles than a $30 gift card. They give away TV's at the fly on promotions, free months of rent as an incentive, however that is their extension of sympathy. I've lived in a variety of different cities due to my job and I would say this is my least favorite group of folks to work with. You certainly don't feel attended to or cared for. I will say leading up to July of 2019 the folks who worked in the leasing office were super kind and awesome, but since then it has just been a strikingly different experience. The last bit I will mention is that upon all the issues I asked for coprorate to call me because ultimately they could make calls on how to address the situation. It took multiple emails and phone calls to get someone on the line ~3 weeks. Like I said, should you not encounter any issues its a great property. If you do, well then I hope you have a better experience than me.
Since the first day that I walked in for a tour of the apartment, I have only received excellent service from the management. Brandi and Samantha are the best and are always patient with me. The property is self is amazing. They keep it really organized and clean. The one thing that I like the most about The Mark Apartments is that they create events to get everybody out and social and make the environment fun.
