Property Ratings at The Martinique
This building is way over due for maintenance. Every time it rains there is leaks through out the building. The super of this building literally can’t fix anything! he claims to fix it but whatever is broken weather it be the cheap stove top, plumbing, literally anything you need a super to fix will work for a day or two after he “fixes” it. Then it breaks again. If you call him to fix it again he will say it’s your fault. And charge you for it. There is no functional cameras in the building (no cameras at all in the elevators) there so you have no real safety. The neighbors are nice they don’t bother anyone or complain. The laundry machines don’t really clean anything it’s no point of having one in the basement and they haven’t been changed for over 10 years. When the super cleans you can tell he uses either a dirty mop or dirty mop water because it leaves a mix of detergent and dirty water all over in the lobby/elevator. Not to mention he will do this once every 5 months. The super will literally walk in your house with no warning that he is on his way or at least a knock as if he pays rent. If you apply to rent an apartment you are better off moving to the projects (no shade to the projects). Also if you have an issue or a complaint against you it will be displayed for the entire building to see there is no sense of privacy when it comes to those things. Your name address apt number will be on full display.
the super charges you to do work in your apartment,he does crappy work and talks bad to tenants as if he owns the building, they dont clean the floors and elevators stay looking dingy.its just the fact that he charges tenants to do work and sells them the materials as well.its the rumors of the buildings super.but over all the building is fine, its just the super they have.ill just avoid him n do my own work in apartment..i guess some tenants are afraid to complain.30 dollars for a duplicate key is ridiculous .he even sells you paint.its crazy..still a nice place, just hope they change the super they have, would rent there ,just avoid dealing with super.thats all.sorry but true..
