Property Ratings at The Maxwell Apartments
The management and maintenance doesn't do anything that they're meant to do. You barely can get a hold of the staff and they'll rarely communicate back. They don't care about their tenants here.
Property Manager at The Maxwell Apartments, Responded To This Review
Thank you for taking the time to give us a review. We sincerely apologize about the issues you experienced, and we hope to make this right. Please reach out to [The Maxwell Apartments] so we can rectify this issue.
I heard good things about these apartments a few years ago but things have clearly changed. I've stayed here a year now and have regretted signing my lease every day. You read the reviews before you move somewhere and think people are just overreacting..we aren't. The apartment itself is okay for the price but should be lower because this is the ghetto. The environment isn't good for anyone with kids, there's crack heads surrounding the neighborhood especially in the hot months, maintenance takes their time to react to work orders (if they even come) and just this week alone our water has been shut off twice with no notice because of a "emergency leak".. they do the bare minimum here, save your time and money and just keep looking because this is not a good place to call home..
I have lived here for 12yrs..It was a very nice place to live..but when McKinley sold the property in 2015, it has gone down hill...I can't wait to move!! Nothing gets fixed in a timely matter, there is no communication from office staff.. I wouldn't recommend this place to No ONE!!! THEY DON'T CARE because they do not live here...
I've lived in various apartment complexes for the last fifteen years and this is by far the worst. The appliances weren't cleaned when I moved in, residents throw their trash in the hallways and all over the lawn and parking lot, people blast music in their apartments and outside sometimes until 3 am on weeknights. Management makes an effort, but there's only so much they can do when the tenants are this awful. Avoid this place like the plague.
Everything looks dilapidated, Pool doesn't even have proper cement, there's a lack of security and the residents are breaking locks on outside doors. My unit was in complete ruins and they schemed saying we could not see the unit until we moved in. When we did it was a mess. Broken doors, unfinished bathrooms, broken fixtures, etc. People waltz in and out; I even had a panhandler stalk me inside the complex. They said they changed management but nothing has changed. Same foul smell in hallways, Same unresponsive and unprofessional maintenance. Save yourself the disappointment.
I like it here so far so good!Carpet needs to be replaced due to former tenant but other than that everything is fine. Two bathrooms makes it very convenient lots of storage space very spacious??
I moved here 7/27/2017 they are working with there 3rd set of Office Managers which one after another they tried to clean up the previous staff mess before taking with the resident in question 2 or 3 times I’ve lost track now and each time they were wrong from saying I owed money from when I moved in mind you it was 9 mos. later and the 1st I heard about it was with a note on my door which they were Proven wrong then I came home one day and my lock was changed but nobody knew how nor why so after me cursing them out numerous times they then gave me 30 days to move & lied about my breaking the front door to the office not to mention the outside door to the apartment has been off over a month and their answer wS they ordered it & there’s numerous buildings with the same problem. The location nor the apartments wasn’t my problem POOR MANAGEMENT IS but by the grace of God I’m moving with tomorrow 11/30/2018 #WontHeDoIt #FollowYourFirstMind and when I asked for Corporate’s number they said they would pass on the message that’s when I lost it!
Upon my moving in 2 months ago, I moved in to things not taken care of and my apartment has only been going down since. The leasing manager is rude and allowed maintenance to disrespect and disregard me in her face. On top of that I haven’t had heat for a month!! Winter is approaching people!
I HAVE NEVER BEEN TREATED WITH SO MUCH DISRESPECT IN MY LIFE!!! The leasing office’s manger doesn’t care about your concerns! Maintenance won’t fix things that THEY BROKE THEMSELVES! DON’T MOVE THERE. You’ll regret it and it’s not even worth it trust me!
I moved in last summer and everything is great! The staff is so helpful and found me my perfect home! The location is great. I'll be living here for a long time!
I've lived at The Barrington for almost two months, and I'm already looking forward to moving when my lease is up. Repeated calls for maintenance to repair anything are ignored. The hallway carpet should have been cleaned years ago. There's such a draft coming through my windows (each window), it feels like I'm standing outside. My apartment looks nothing like the model that was shown to me, prior to moving in. Do yourself a favor, and don't move here!
I've lived in the Barrington apartments since 2011 and i love it. the staff are awesome, the maintenance are also amazing. anytime I've had an issue it has been taking care of in a in good timing. the office staff are very polite and do their best to assist their residents. they also keep maintain the upkeep of the property, grass is well groomed and they also have housekeepers who come out and make sure the hallways and laundry room is clean. i enjoy the pool area, tennis court, playground for the children as well as an exorcise room. i would defiantly recommend anyone who loves a clean and safe environment to consider staying here.
They Have POOL , The high school is right next door . They care for there apartments and renters .
